Started in 1999, @Sabaton are a Swedish band focused on military history. With 9 studio albums already out, and with plenty of headlining world tours already under their belt, the band is getting ready to release The War to End All Wars, their 10th studio album, and the second that focuses exclusively on the First World War.
I met with guitarist Chris Rörland to discuss all about this great album, as well as:
- Replacing Manowar at Hellfest
- Playing in occupied Crimea
- Joining Sabaton

I am 69 yrs & I just love Sabaton, Sabaton has taught me the history of WW1, 2, & European Wars, The Guys enjoy there fans, & have fun on stage, The whole Band make my day, I live in OZ, I hope that one day I will be able to see Sabaton Live....somewhere in the world,..Hope it's soon!! I didnt know he wrote my fav songs on "the great war". So it's very promising he's now involved in 5 songs on the new album. And also, I really love his leads, for me he's one of the absolute best lead players in metal.

I think Sabaton should make a song where Tommy is the lead singer, one for Chris to be lead singer, and one for Par to be lead singer. That would be fucking cool

You can actually tell some differences in the songs where Chris has been involved in the songwriting process. Two of my favourite songs are in fact "Seven pillars of wisdom" and "Attack of the dead men". It's mindblowing how great musicians these guys are!🤘 Chris is solid, an awesome guitar player, songwriter, performer... Thanks for a great interview! 🤘♥️
