Regarding Torque applied to the pinion. As compared to the Team Spec V3, and Expert 540 or 550 is there a non-destructive method to compare the amount of torque each of the motors will apply for any given voltage. I guess I’m asking if there is some sort of dynamometer available or that you may have to demonstrate actual torque?

The Title says the Pro line but you're talking about the Expert line.

I would love to see servos come back. I’m running a full Holmes suite in all of my recent builds. Lack of servo availability has me going other directions. Please bring something to market!!

It might be a lot of work but having 3 identical rigs, running all 3 levels of motors in the same turn going over some obstacles back to back would show the difference nicely

The 550 motor and a redcat GEN eight will have the thing doing wheelies. The motor has so much torque. I don’t put any other motors in my cars, but Holmes Hobbies.❤

Yeah when I gave my son my gen 8 and my daughter a trx hers had holmes 3500 and because I was going to pull it but she so easy on it so I took sport out his truck and swapped for21turn 550 expert and dam that thing pulls it hook to 1080 and after that if I ever replace any of the sports in many of other trucks I own hands down these motors are great and I have about 60% of each line of motors brushed and brushless and I give it to the gen 8 I figured it would pooped out the gears on it and it hasn't yet but it sure stretch link ends and has axel do for rebuild

Hands down on my favorite brushed motors I got for holmes because kids like more trail driving and have lot of sports but finally got 550 21t expert and wow I would recommend it hands down and have to many people and they loved it and it been going on three years and my boy is hard on the throttle and we run 3s most time and it's been a champ and even being geared higher then most because we trail there's most time they want speed and it will still crawl with 19 tooth on gen 8 and the temps always are reasonable I carry a temp gun around with me cause I don't have funds to replace things now do to health and its on thing I tell new rc people is if u want longevity it's a must to watch your temp also it help with gearing and motor life also esc life I usually shoot max 140 temp and it will prolong your equipment I explained it to kids it same with computers or anything electronics less heat the better its life span all electronics have a life span

You are the only guy who answers anyone anymore. I have asked you before what multiple winds do for the brushed motor. Your double, Tripe, and quad winds. do they really have a wider power band.? Now can you wind me a special quint wind. The gauge would have to be .25mm. What do you think? Do you remember when Trinity used flat (square)wound copper to have no voids in the arm stack?
@HolmesHobbies
@HolmesHobbies 4 месяца назад
For crawling it's pretty useless to use mulitifiliar winding. It does shift the power band up, but we need torque in crawling and singles give it. Flat wire may allow a bit more copper fill on very low turn low fill arms. Like 10t and lower. Again, not so useful for crawling to spend so much money and effort for a few % gain. The majority of old brushed racing tricks are just not useful for crawling.

Cut com brings back life in motor. Hit com with magic marker and oil. Make 2 light passes to remove marker. Spring rates and brush hardness affects perfomance. Rebuilding is fun but pricey. Stock sealed brushed work and last 20 $. Why spend 80$ for rebuild motors. Before brushless at the track we rebuilt our motors.

Do magnets weaken over time
@jerrywatson1958
@jerrywatson1958 4 месяца назад
Only Chinese made ones. They use substandard materials in their making of magnets to squeeze out extra profit. It's a bait and switch con. Even John insists on his particular grade of magnetic material down to the minimum qualities of sourced material in his china made sealed can motors. I am sure it is the same for the machine wound Expert line.

@@jerrywatson1958 my holmes brushed motor has endless hours in scx10 3 heavy jeep. Plenty power and cool sound and drag brake on stock axial esc set to either 50 or 100 percent.
