Nice review! When you do your comparison videos can you include some clean tones as well? Love that surfy vibe but also like to hear these for the intended jazzy sound. Thanks!
Hi Thomas hope all is well with you. Yes I'm back and much more content soon. Next up a T type review. Then lots of Gretsch talk. Yes my wrist is 90% and upwards. 😎✌️🍺
I've just bought one off Amazon but it's call a Redid RZT-22 in vintage sunburst. The headstock is just a little different shape which has kind of a Gibson headstock shape which I really like. Overall I really like this guitar. It has a quality comparable to Epiphone and I'm thinking it is made at the same factory that makes the Epiphones. For $189.55+tax you just can't say anything bad about this guitar.
Hi John, yes they are pretty fabulous and really are a handsome guitar. I agree they are probably made in the same factory. I've had the pleasure of playing the Epiphone century and the Guild T 50. I really cannot tell the difference. Enjoy your guitar and thank you for your input 👍😎🍷
Bought a sunburst version from Andertons in January this year only £199.00 came next day carriage free excellent guitar can't believe quality for the price no need to buy from China
Hi Phil that's Great, I know Anderson's now sell them, they are great. I have finished a red one, fully set up restrung and an Epiphone Tusk nut. £220. If you fancy another 👍😎🍷
Thanks for the offer but I think I am going to buy that Gretsch 140th anniversary you have and gretsch rocker bridge upgrade. I used to have an original 1963 6120 double cut with filtertrons and always liked its unique tone although the build quality of those 60s gretches wasn't great.By the way is that a Fender deluxe reverb tonemaster you are playing through as sounds great Rock On .Phil
@@philgreeno-qr6zd Hi Phil, yes it is a tonemaster. I think you'll love the new Gretsch's ! I agree the sixties Gretsch's I had were pretty poor build quality. I've tried and tested four G5420's out and the quality has been consistent 😎👍👌
Great to see you back in action mate! Nice guitar btw & nice playing too, could see myself picking one up actuallly. Are you playing thru the old deluxe or the Tonemaster? Thanks to you I’m about to buy a Tri-Five, even tho I own a high end Gretsch, the Electromatics have something special, I’d be interested in your your thoughts on the cheepy G2410TG Streamliner if you come across one. Really looking forward to more of your vids, look after that hand haha & u need to upload more of your later music onto Bandcamp mate. All the best, cheers from Australia!
Thanks stingray, it's weird how nerve wracking things become when you put them off. The amp is a Tonemaster I have a deluxe but it's in the state's 😅 My old 74 twin found a new home and I regret it already. You'll love the Tri-five just don't swap the pickups. I have a high end Gretsch also and the Korean made are very close. Coming soon a G5420T with Trestle brasing. Oh those cheaper streamliners are great for the money. Best wishes man 😎💫✌️
I bought a 2420t 6 months ago and it’s a great guitar set up and finish is flawless and it plays great however the first one I ordered was a gold dust one and it had quite a few issues so returned it for the candy apple red. Replaced the tone knobs with chrome G knobs and plan on ordering a 5420 pickguard which will probably require some file work modification. Broadtron pick ups are dressed up to look like a filtertron but they are definitely PAF in construction cleans are really nice for a humbucker just not twangy enough for me so planning to replace with Vansons p90 size HBs ,Surf 90s or Guild dynasonics .
@@djangle67 I'll look into that model, Guild do great Dyno sonics around £60 each. Vanson alnico p90's are great and super affordable. I'll be revisiting the Tri-five and Rat Rod next week, it may help in your decision process, I will also be discussing another source of filtertrons. I bought a pair of neodymium loaded Filtertrons for £34.37 for the pair. When I do the G5110 shoot out I'll link them in the description. Good to hear from ya man 😎🎸👍
