I think they are excellent value . I wanted to experiment with a esp32 and this was perfect .

Check on the WLED official page , maybe there is some info about the 01s , i " think "it has some differences. The esp32 is much more powerful anyway .

Did you change the channels also since you changed segments?

no it was on 1 channel i havent tried splitting it up over the channels yet , the segments are simple , if you have 100 leds , segment 1 will be 0 to 50 and segment 2 will be 51 to 100 , once you get the hang of it its easy to setup .i think i didnt film the segment part as i had to put the matrix display on first segment.

@MicroChipz Funny I was messing around with the segments and channels some how I got it going with the pixels on ch1 and strip on ch2 and it's working. I think what help was in the settings I put them under different segments on LED profile.

Considering the board was just a few pounds , i thought it was good value . Can you do any better ?

@MicroChipz yeah but I just etch my own by smacking out tracks. Pcbway gouge me on shipping where I live and I rarely order them. Sorry man, I didn't mean to be a dick. It came out wrong. There isn't an apparent reason for that specific design I should've said. There's support for multiple outputs but no current protection by the look of it or added features that can't be added with a 10 cent piece of perfboard. If you got them cheap though then that's cool. Most 'makers' overcharge for their work because of poor understanding of economics of scale. We live in an age where nothing is sacred and everyone thinks they can be anything. People have strengths and weaknesses for a reason and it's what makes every person standout for good or IL. I donate electronics learning kits to anyone in canada or the us who can't afford it and what I put in is based on that person's wants or needs. I don't think I'm better than anyone or seek any recompense or praise for it. I discourage any of that. All I ask is to be able to pay for postage of any expensive items like multimeters or soldering stations if the person gets new gear or doesn't take to the hobby. I am sorry if I offended you my friend. If I designed a wled board I'd bake in uart because the esp32 mcu lines require more current than an average usb port on a pc can source using USB micro, even on a usb3 port because the cp2102 ic hasn't been configured to do the proper handshake for the garbage micro ports that Asian companies put on them. I have a drawer full of esp32 boards from at least 10 'different' companies which all use the same reference design which hasn't kept up with the more feature rich versions of the esp32 ics that are put on the past 6 months. I purposely tested it. The older fixes of putting a cap between the en/reset and gnd pin is not working on the esp32 ics which have more fp math support. I end up having to desolder the actual module and do a quick breakout board. The usb c boards do not need to even have the boot button pressed. It's why you see people being able to do better gui work and emulators with esp modules now. I remember when the (typically overpriced maker-built) launchpad board was released, it struggled to even make 2d buttons because Extensa were too cheap to pay a little extra to add better fp support. Risc v isn't really open sourced hardware, it was made so arm didn't have such a huge stranglehold on companies who made purpose built logic blocks. Kinda how steam takes 30 percent of every game's revenue, no matter the publisher or developer deal and the game makers usually get shafted after making a hit game and have to close needlessly.
