Due to the relative freedom and, before Serato 3, STEMS features of Algoriddim djay, along with my willingness to use a Mac for DJing, as well as the fact I grew up using it, I have been DJing using Algoriddim djay. That said, I tried pretty hard at one point recently to switch to Serato, and I learned the first four things from this video just looking around and doing that. What's still keeping me on Algoriddim: -It integrates with iCloud, so I don't have to be very organized to DJ across two Macs and (increasingly rarely outside of quick practice/mashups) an iPad. -Fewer restrictions on what DJ hardware you can use with it, and a finer level of control over outputs (by the way, making Serato audio available to other applications is a really useful feature Algoriddim djay doesn't have on its own, and a very nice use for that is visualizer software, like G-Force by Soundspectrum, which would otherwise require Loopback by Rogue Amoeba in order to hear DJ software properly). Sending music metadata directly to Twitch is the cherry on top of better-sounding STEMS which might push me to try Serato again if I livestream. Truthfully, I've been considering doing a set on Serato or VDJ again for the better STEMS support anyway, BUT -Both Serato and VDJ want more of your money than Algoriddim. The purchase price of Serato keeps ballooning, and the subscription is 3x what Algoriddim charges. -My perception is both Serato and VDJ demand more from your system, STEMS or no, low latency or no. Algoriddim djay Pro AI will literally let me DJ on my Mac for five straight hours on a charge. Serato won't. -Algoriddim djay gets support for new Apple software (and hardware, though generally for gimmickry only) first. I don't like to be left behind! I wish Algoriddim djay had better STEMS. I wish it had a more malleable interface and video system to better support wide aspect ratios. I wish it were as easy as Serato to learn, but apart from the worse STEMS I've never felt left behind using that software, maybe until today.
I’ll be upgrading from Serato DJ Pro 2.6.2 to 3.0 once I receive my M1 MacBook Air this week, not too big on the stems but will mess around with it though and see if it’ll grow on me.
Yeah just have to switch to Vertical view within the top right corner. Not sure what the section is called. You can select horizontal, vertical, extended views etc
Hey Phil love the channel I learn a lot thank you. So I use to use SL3 but jumped onto Rekordbox. I thought I would revisit Serato I got the update for Dj Pro which was fine but on 3.0 it loads etc but with Stems the CPU goes mental.I don’t have a controller for Serato I was just going to go stand-alone on my Desktop. It’s awful though am I missing something ?
How much RAM do you have on your PC? I've got 16 gig and at times it struggles with stems. But i figured you need remove any battery optimization etc., Make sure there aren't any Windows updates or such running in the background.
@@wellingtonokumu3427 No I would say if you can dj on turntables with no pitch control and a penny on the tone arm. You can dj on anything. That's how we did back in the day. Computer dj's would be lost. 🤣🤣
