Ive been using smart crates for 1 year and struggled with the more than one rule in when editiing . Wow my serato has just had a STEROID HIT .This is Gold thankyou
Between my hard drive, crates and Library it's a total mess. Quads on top of quads. So sad. But, I've been playing back since 1989. Reel to Reels, and some. Tascams tape, cut tape Etc. I'm still kicking. Love Controllers. I'm Reborn🎵🎵🎶Lol
Hi! Just wanted to pop by with a quick comment and say that this was a truly great video mate. Short and sweet with lots of examples and inspirational nuggets. I am currently reorganizing my own library and almost feel embarresd I did not think about making a old and not played crate myself to separate those songs from the rest of the pack. Keep up the good work!
I like this, but when you are actually playing an event, how often are you referring to the smart crates? I have similar systems, but I find they can get over loaded and don’t help me find the songs I need any faster.
Man I HEAR that! I don't often refer to the Smart Crates while playing an event. They are more for prep prior to an event, or when someone requests a genre and I'm drawing a blank.
Have you checked out Crate Hackers? The Crate Hackers app has a csv import and will match all the tracks with files in your library then export a playlist file you can create a crate out of - makes it super simple!
How do you determine the happiness and the danceability of the songs, I guess you pull it from Spotifys API, but do you check manually for each song or is there a automated process?
I check manually. I don't recall the actual sources off-hand as I mostly use the Crate Hackers app which sources it from other places. I've been using them to weed out songs. If I know I'll keep it, I find the danceability and mood. If I don't, I leave them off so it's easier to weed out later. I know if they have a danceability and happiness score they've already passed the vibe test, or they're already in a crate.
