Ditch the beefheart and use a mix good quality pellets. I always had niggles when feeding beefheart and I've completely stopped feeding them that about 4 months ago and not seen any stringy poo etc since. As you said, Discus are a hard fish to keep. Beefheart is used just to get the fish to gain weight fast (just like me if I stay on Burger King every day 😂) . I use several different pellets along with bell peppers etc Just my opinion of course 🙂
Thanks for the video and sharing your experiences. I have 2 questions Can we add epsom salt into to main tank to flush their stomach Have you tried bactocide? Heard they are effective in clearing internal issues for discus
Amazing dedication mate just makes you wonder what do the big breeders do like Chens and skendker (devoted discus) if they told you they would be out of business!!!
Always watch your films...but not you its the fish ....soo modified from Wilds is Scarry..... All Different colours I,m looking for Wilds this year .... Red eye on Simply Discus forum.
I was having the same problem but now they are adults I don't feed beef heart very much now I just use other frozen food, pellets and flakes and I've not had any issue for over a year now
Yes I think beef heart is the main suspect. Ive nearly got them all onto granules, but there arent many granules around that dont have daft fake colour enhancers in them.
Sera discus granules, fluval cichlid bug bites and some Dr Bassler pellets are pretty good. I also use ocean nutrition prime reef and brineshrimp flakes. I mix them all together in 1 container so it's a mix all the time. Beef heart pellets are also good. Chens discus sell them and so do stendker. Don't think I would go back to beef heart frozen mix
