Little brother was born in 03, I never showed him a thing but he grabbed Moshi Monsters playing cards and had taped them for this setup. Clever little bastard
Plastic cups and playing cards worked great but a nice soda can folded properly would give you such a great sound lol I used fly around my neighborhood sounding like I was racing on the isle of man
Umm 1999 ? Sorry but Nope … this trick and different versions of it are way old 😄 why were kids doing it in the 50’s and 60’s ? I grew up in the 70’s and it was always some older guy Grampa / Dad / uncle or whoever that showed us young guys this fun “ motorbike sound” trick with playing cards / pcs of a plastic bleach jug etc. brushing the spokes or tires and held together by clothes pins with black tape to the bike frame.
This isn't so nice when it happens at speed, unexpected. I made a mud shield for the rear shock out of plastic foam sheet. While going down a steep alpine road descent, wind pressure pushed the flap down to the tire and fed it into the gap between the tire and swingarm so the noise continued regardless to the speed. I've never stopped the bike so smoothly as I expected the sound coming from the hub or brake.
I have unlocked this feature when i was 8 years old and im jow 32 kods these days hsve no clie on how much fun we had as kids thst didnt have sll thsi technology growing up and had to gonoutside and play and explore and be kids and do t come home till street lights come and leave the house when street lights turn off in the morning on weekends and summer break
