Eh, this area is great for hobbiest. However, what we lack is long-term enthusiasts. Unfortunately, events in the freshwater world are seldom, if any. The closest convention annually is Charlotte NC's aquatic expo. Many good stores across the bridge but outside of that not much of a dedicated community by which trading and events happen. I've tried to create something in the past but learned many freshwater enthusiasts are very introverted and would rather observe from a distance.
