Yeaaaahhh! Great video 🔥I like that you gave some nice ranges for sensitivity and encouraged people to play with different aspects instead of just giving a "one size fits all"
I just turned 45 last week and playing Fortnite is one of my joys! This video was so helpful for me. Thank you for taking the time to make it. The insights are priceless! 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
I started playing just normal grip and moving my thumb from the joystick to my jump button. I am not serious enough to get a custom controller (they are also pretty pricey), so I tried out playing claw. It is pretty easy if you do it right. I wouldn't just try to do it without watching some videos first. I changed my keybinds and put B (or O for PS) as crouch and sprint for Y (or triangle for PS). I don't play builds at all, so I don't have anything set to build lol. I don't like putting anything for joystick clicks cuz I find it hard to press while trying to move as well.
@hermankermit-warm1121 its actually the band of bros who are committed to improving at the game and they do an awesome job with it :) he just means that he found me from TobyWanShinobi's YT :)
Thats what i use + touchpad to reload/interact Try using quick weapon if you only play zero builds... it frees up an extra button and keeps your thumbs on the sticks more
Hey MF! This video was awesome! Thanks for all the tips. I'm stuck in the Diamond 1-3 zone and desperately trying to get out of it, lol. I'm going to start incorporating some of these into my practice and the first step is remapping buttons so my thumbs never leave those thumsticks 💯
Ok something for me since im a controller player and i have follow the step to improve my game play and i have brought me my dual edge sense and i have my kontrol freaks on order just so i can perform better and i thank you. My game has truly changed. Now if i can master my game sense and tracking and making good decision i will be decent. So thank you for every you put out for me and i will thank des. She said linear plays on lower sense and when i lower my sense it was do-able. So again thanks again for making me understanding aim assit too
2:20 this exact thing is actually why my minecraft jump bind is set to l2 on my playstation. for Fortnite though, my jump is on O and whenever i need to jump shot i either jump then swap to the right stick immediately, or use my index finger for a brief second. for the dpad though, i always pull up my index
Ty so much. I play on PS4 and your controller topic has been very very helpful. Ty and keep up the good work on helping the gaming community. U have a blessed day
I got a Vader 3 Pro for fortnite. $45 pro controller. Sticks are hall effect, buttons are mechanical, triggers are adjustable, and 2/4 of the rear paddles are easy to use. Pretty nice improvement for moving + aiming at the same time
Personally, I have an arm effected by a stroke in 2021, found Fortnite through a mate late last year and it has helped a lot, but I still have major limits when playing with my thumb, index and middle finger having 40% range of motion/flexibility, sensation and strength, making it physically impossible to strath and I can only move forwards and backwards with the left toggle which isn't ideal in close range 1v1's 😆, but this video helped a bit with finding new potential binds to use. would love if PlayStation could create a controller more geared towards disabled players in the future more than just in game settings 🙌 Thank you for the in depth video ❤❤👏❤❤
Great video, Buddy! I've been feeling like my sensitivity and aim assist have been off lately. Watching how much time you put into figuring yours help, makes me want to do the same. This video was perfect timing for how i should go about it. Thanks!
I aim and shoot with L1, R1, jump with L2, sprint with L3 and crouch with R3. Never need to move my thumbs from the sticks, except when going for "previous weapon" using X.
@@bigbabowski8203 "next weapon" that's why I always have a close range weapon after my long range so I can swap weapon quickly when I get pushed by surprise
I have a controller with 4 back buttons which was great until they all broke, one by one. I couldn’t get replacements as it’s discontinued (I wonder why?). Nightmare! Then I discovered the Beta Quick Weapon swap. Life-saver. Most fights, you’re just swapping between your primary/secondary weapon using one button (I use R1). It’s perfect for this. The only down side is to swap to the other 3 slots you need to hit the Quick-weapon swap button and either circle, triangle or X. This is acceptable for heals, utilities and long-range weapons even though I have to take my thumb off the stick momentarily. It’s really changed my game. If I still had 4 back buttons it would be amazing as then I could map one button to each weapon, much like on keyboard. I hope somebody finds this useful!
i seriously have to just try this out already. ive been meaning to mess around with it for a while but always get sidetracked with something else! thank you for the comment by the way. appreciate it!
I used to be on 35 sens but switched it up to 70 ( expo) just for fun while playing skoovaks and to my surprise my hipfire aim got about 30% better instantly. When on expo a high sens is way better I figured (about 1.5 to 2 times higher than your usual linear sens). Normally linear is better because its much more responsive for shotgun/smg tracking but with a 70 expo sens my shotgun tracking is just as resposive and arguably more accurate than it is on 30 sens linear. Id recommend giving high sens expo a try as it basically makes linear settings feel obsolete for me. I'm unreal top 6k and 1v1d a top 1k unreal player earlier and beat him 12-6 even tho I wasnt even used to the new way higher sens yet. On 70 expo sens you can also turn around insanely fast which is really beneficial in a meta where everyone is constantly sliding or jumping behind you with nitro. The main drawback with linear for me was always that it either was too fast where my laserburst aim would suffer at range or too slow where Id be cooked if people jumped over me and I couldnt turn around that fast. But high expo sens basicly has none of these weaknesses but still feels just as good for shotgun aim as linear does.
Hey Brotha! Dude this was a super helpful tutorial. Just recently got the Dualsense Edge controller and im Bout to map the back buttons to jump and crouch
Bro, there’s alot of other words that you can use instead of just saying optimal 500 times. We get it. It’s optimal binds. Just trolling ya. Great video. ❤🎉👊🏽💪🏽
@@MFBuddy_YT no bro. It’s not your bad. Great video. RU-vid doesn’t care if you hate on a video or love it. They just see comments as support. So I’m out here supporting you. You had a lot of value in your video. Great work. 👍👊🏽🤙
Buying a scuff instinct pro controller was the best investment I’ve ever made for video gaming… four buttons on the back mapped to A B X Y… I will never go back. I can’t imagine why anyone would game seriously while needing to remove their fingers from the joysticks. It’s not worth it! I also play bumper jumper so the same finger I use to ADS just actuates upwards a bit and makes me jump Right stick to crouch/slide Diamond Quick weapon swap. Old fortnite L & R bumpers for weapon changing causes so many mistakes and headaches! go Diamond FTW
ive been interested in doing a scuf instinct vs dual sense edge video for a while. Only thing i wish was different about DS Edge is mouse click triggers. I can live with 2 buttons vs 4, but i know from experience the difference MC triggers make
@@MFBuddy_YT yeah I can’t play shooters with the triggers in normal mode now. It feels so unpredictable. Like wow I have to travel all that distance to shoot? The only weird thing with the mouse clicks was it that it hurt my fingers initially because it’s a stiff feeling. Even after months now, if playing in a very intense game my finger does hurt a bit in a way it never has with soft trigger pulls. My main complaint with the instinct is I did get stick drift to develop in about 100 hours. It started slow but it’s gotten bad. I’ll send it in for warranty soon. So in this regard having swap-able-joystick assemblies like in the Dual Sense Edge controller sounds like a win to me. My second complaint is I want even MORE than 4 buttons on the back/side. I’d love to have the Scuf envision pro. It’s got an extra two buttons that your index fingers rest on. Why can’t every controller have that??
Hey Buddy, awesome video! 🔥 Can you do a guide on how to properly peek in close range fights and centering? Like how to crouch peek shoot, jump/slide around cover while being unpredictable & accurate. And with centering do u aim at the head, upper chest or waistline? Cheers !!
i have been sitting on using paddles simply because I found I was unintentionally hitting them. After this is recognizing all things I was doing wrong they are on and I will force myself to adjust.
Thanks for such good content. I can surely benefit a lot from it! BTW, can you share the codes of the maps you were playing on? Those seem to be preety good!
If you look at the top of the screen while he's on the map you want, you'll see the map number in format 1234-5678-1234. It's small but you can see it.
Hey buddy,, I use a powerA controller with 4 paddles, 2 upper paddles for swapping weapons, the lower 2, I use for jump and crouch.. Works really well for me
Thanks MF, needed this advancement, just as I purchased AimControl Pro 😂. I do get the sense that many of these binds will work in the new controller yes? ⚔
It would be a lot better to have a image of your hands on the controller whilst demonstrating. I would’ve liked if I could’ve read the name of that aim trainer map instead of your picture overlapping the name. I’m not sure what you said, but I’m looking currently in the description in comments for how the name is, spelt
I turned off aim assist about a week into this season. There was a noticeble difference at first but it felt like Epic nerfed it so bad it became a liability.
I play on keyboard/mouse but I'm curious... if you're used to default binds (Like I am on keyboard) how long does it take to get used to swapping your keybinds around?
Learning back paddles took me like 2 weeks to really be comfortable. I’m not positive how similar the time would be, but I feel like 2 weeks is a fair guess or estimate!
Yeah, so I think I need an new controller. I handy capped my binds bc my LB and RB are stiff and sometimes unresponsive. So naturally, I programmed my XB elite triggers to compensate. Which means I still have to take my fingers off my thumb stick for X and Y actions. After leaving build more and focusing on ZB.. I probably need to revisit my binds. What's helped lately is the quick swap mode.
@@MFBuddy_YT Lol I just switched to it 2 weeks ago.. I did not know it was a thing. And I think it's helped me as a controller player, especially when it comes to getting your shotty out quick... or smg.. Changes I made last night after watching your video and accessing my binding. I changed a few things around to make it to the only time I have to take my right thumb off my controller is when I need to use X... which is only when looting or interacting.. honestly i can probably learn to claw that one button.
how did you get a red sight? I am a PS5 player and, at times, can't find the white sight during game play...I would like something more visible...thanks in advance for your help.
since i don’t have a pro controller (and claw is very uncomfortable to play imo) i have my jump button binded to L2 and my quick weapon binded to R2, and my aim and shoot buttons to the L1/R1 buttons.
@@Jimbo0o617 nice! I love hearing that and happy to help! Here is the controller I use! amzn.to/3U26D5R I am an Amazon affiliate as well so If you don’t go with a dual sense edge but go with my link it would mean a ton!
Hi MFbuddy just found your page (surprising I never get to watch you before though). Well, I know it's kinda personal to each one of us, but using also a paddle controller (elite series 2) I can't never be sure if my mapping is right or if it could be better., Also to mention I started to build sp I would love if you could help me with the controller. Thanks
I want to start playing using claw, and not sure exactly where to start or what to use or change for my binds any suggestions on what to change to start practicing, as you spoke in the video about optimal binds, what would you suggest as optimal binds for someone wanting to start playing claw, I want to get better at zero build. Appreciate the advice you give out!
What kontrol freak sizes are you using? Good tips, I will try your settings. The sensitivity debate has been my biggest downfall and yours look different to anything I have tried. I’ve had back paddles for 2 months and forget to use them :(
so i typically use mid rise galaxy on my right thumstick... past couple days ive been using the high rise galaxy tho. i think the mid is my favorite in terms of feel and control. ive also tried the infernos and galaxy was by far my favorite of the two. amzn.to/3JISw0R
I'm on xbox series s and aim assist never does anything despite being on, when i play red v blue it does more harm than good so i think I'm just gonna end up turning it off to see what difference is
I use a regular ps5 controller and I swapped my right joystick to jump when you push down, crouch is my right joystick when you push down. I have my X set to run since when you're running you can't have your gun out anyways really
@MFBuddy great video! I just have a question. I purchased a scuf and have been using the advanced options for sensitivity but have trouble keeping up in close range shotgun fights. I have been bumping up my sens but if someone’s moving quickly I always seem to overaim on the first shot. So to try and counter that I moved the boost ramp time to 0.25 and look damping time to 0.10. That has helped a bit but I’m wondering if I should just lower my sens to a point I don’t need those turned on. I’m not sure if they affect aim or aim assist negatively in any way.
depends on ur look sens. ur mentioning your boos ramp and dampening but i dont have a refrence for what you are working on with the rest of ur settings. tell me more about what the rest of it looks like
Hey MF, love the video- was wondering why you have boost for linear. Ive seen many videos where most linear players dont have any boost on for the consistency. I know it’s preference but why does it help you and how can it help?
@@MFBuddy_YT o one thing comes to mind, on the pro controller I think your rocking the Higher stick on your aim stick? Am I right ? , and I saw you also rock a kontrol Freek button which one ?
I am brand spankin' new to to Fortnite. I have only played 3 nights. I'm 51. Learning how to play so I can kick my kids butts. How do I get to the maps to practice my aim?! I suck.
Have you figured it out yet? If not go to the search bar and type in map codes. Or just type in aim trainer and it will pop up some. If you can’t access some maps, life it says can’t connect to server? Go to the games that says something along the lines of games by “epic” and find creative. Click on it and download it and it will solve that issue.
0 build is a dying mode. There's no challenge when people are out in the open with nothing to block themselves with. There is no challenge with that literally. Anyone can win no build.
I never knew that. FN is my new addiction. I found you fro. Tobi, and I like you guys. You are good group that keep it pg and non toxic. The play on the live streams are amazing. Thanks for the tips about the paddles because I would accidentally hit them and do weird moves, so i just always remived them. I was wondering about the controller set up cause its similar to situations where you run out of stanima and the slide button turns in crouch unexpectedly. Plus it's hard enough to push down on the thumb sticks for sprint, crouch, and slide. 🙅♂️🤯😱😫🫣 Keep up the good work! 👍 👍
Hey bro I love the video! I don’t know why there aren’t more videos like this for controller players! 😎 One thing that might be worth checking out regarding binds (not for you because you have paddles), I use the new quick weapon feature which frees up your LB which I now use for jump, I use right stick crouch and left stick jump. Since I’ve done this my close range combat has gone to a new level as it frees up movement without losing any tracking. I don’t know why I haven’t seen a video about it yet!
If I try to enable aim assist on PC while using controller, there is not assist at all... is this working only on consols or it can work on PC as well?
11:40 you're actually the first person to recommend a look sense this low in a video. Personally I've been using a similar look sense after trying the typical 40% or so look sense and finding it personally way too hard to control. I'm not saying a lower sense is perfect, but as a casual player who wants to do ok when I play overall I've found what you recommend to work well. For those who are curious, I personally also like playing on expo for the easier finer adjustments and have some boost so I don't turn like a snale when I really need to turn fast. So far good recommendations in this video 👍. I also play on PS4.
Gamer changer, from someone who had 40 sens to drop it to 25 was this can't work & then finding my tracking was to slow, what happened with new settings, I won my 1st game & beat the medallion water bender in the final 1v1 & i never win the end game, could my run of 2nd places be over 😁 thanks so much 🙌
I also flipped my triggers I shoot and with l1 and r1 and swap with l2 r2 using both index and middle fingers resting on all four. It’s ergonomics. You don’t really need back paddles.
thanks for the video 🫶will this setting be good on exponential.. i been struggle im on ps5 console i be playing sense 50 to 60 but i feel my aim aint good… i will appreciate if u would share any exponential setting cause with linear i get alot of vertigo get dizzy… thank you ill appreciated
Hey! Check out this settings video from chapter 5 season 1. These were my expo settings when I played on expo! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r_cS0qNB_Yw.htmlsi=P27kDZaumkRWt8EL
I'm so glad to find a controller video! Thank you for all the info. I was wondering if you (or anyone rly) has any recommendations controller wise? I am just using a classic xbox controller and playing bumper jumper atm. I have heard the xbox Elite controllers with the paddles break with some frequency so I was concerned abt purchasing one.
@@MFBuddy_YT ooh, okay. Ty sm for the link! I don't suppose you have any recommendations for people with smaller hands? I have not used ps controllers much, but they seem a bit wide and I'm not sure if they would be compatible with my Xbox. 😅
What do you call a "normal grip" on the controller? Do you use your middle and index fingers for the top bumpers? Or is it just your index fingers for the top bumpers?
my index finger on left hand actually is interacting with my d-pad so my middle finger is taking care of L1 & L2. Right hand index finger is on right back paddle, middle finger takes care of R1 & R2
