I'd put an asterisk by Chris Paul. His coaches during most of that was Byron Scott and Glenn Rivers. He's never had a great coach even though Monty Williams won coach of the year
Tracy McGrady never made it out the first round. *One year the Rockets made it to the second round but T-Mac was out for the season. Yoa Ming led the team while he was out.
Still, shoutout to Brandon Knight for still trying. Being dunked on is not "a shame" for me. Not trying to contest a dunk to avoid a poster is. The play that embarassed Knight for me was when he missed a wide open layup in transition to win the game
He was on the cavs at the beginning of that 16 season, so he was part of a championship team and I believe?? They give him his ring. I could be wrong on that
@@graphitedamier3548 there was a thing where he was still eligible to a ring technically because how many games he played with the cavs even though he was traded to the warriors. But he refused the ring I believe.
He never really changed other than dunking. Still fast as fuck. Nobody really gave him a chance but you can't say he can't play when he was coming off the bench with close to 20 points a game and a 3 point threat more now than ever.
I still remember my dad giving me the Len Bias talk about how even trying harder substances once can ruin your entire life. RIP to what would have been one of the all time greats.
Jay Williams could be on this list. Drafted number 2 overall (after Yao Ming), but suffered a motorcycle accident that effectively ended his career before it could get started.
Loyalty means nothing to Celtics. He played on even when his sister passed away. It4 love Boston and he found a home here and he had a vision of winning a title. And Danny ainge traded him away for kyrie. Who only wants to chase his own personal glory and fame because he was overshadowed by LeBron
Not a lot of people know him but Reggie Lewis should've been on this list. He refused to give up playing ball despite what other doctors said. And in my opinion, Reggie's story is more tragic than that of Bias. RIP Reggie and Len
My dad went to Maryland when len bias was playing, and he still has the sports illustrated article from when he died in 1986. Really sucks, bias had a damn 48 in vertical
You guys couldn't even do 30 seconds of research to accurately state what happened to Len Bias? He had a cardiac arrythmia after over dosing on cocaine, not a random seizure. This was a huge catalyst for change in the league, because at the time drug use was much more common in the NBA, and now it had robbed a young talent of all his opportunity. His tragic passing forced the league to take action and enact policies that would help prevent more loss of life.
Things notably wrong with this video: - Yes, Drazen Petrovic was traded to the "Brooklyn" Nets from the Blazers ... Oof. - And Drazen's "luck changed on the day he died"? You think? - And as if the Len Bias incident came while he was simply "talking" - As if the death of IT's sister was only a "chip on his shoulder" - Also, Grant Hill played much more than 47 games with the Magic - he played 200
Len Bias didn't die from some random "unlucky" seizure. He chose to put that coke in his nose and as a result he overdosed and died. Guess you had to leave that part out to fit the theme of the video.
Yeah I find it very very weird they didn’t mention at all that it was induced by a cocaine overdose. That is literally one of the most well known parts of his death. Reason why they started looking into the NBAs cocaine problem among a few things
I Agree with most of the list but I feel like there should be some other names on the list like: 1. Chris Paul 2. Markelle Fultz 3. Russell Westbrdook 4. Kristaps Porzingis 5. Mike Miller 6. RIP Hamilton 7. Kwame Brown 8. Jay Williams 9. Shawn Kemp 10. Jeremy Lin This shows that the NBAis a tough place to be in.
For me Petrovic and Bias' death are not unlucky but rather tragic, should have also mentioned Reggie Lewis 😔 In T-mc's case , after retiring from playing, his final team, the Spurs won a title and T-mc wasn't with that team anymore 😅
from my understanding the boston doctors said it wasn’t too serious and cleared IT to play… even though it was uncomfortable or painful he trusted the MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS to provide proper care…… but what’s the injury list??? where is it at since you said he should have gon to it? (im a kinda new fan so idk alot)
@@Fititif oh, I do. I am thinking more of the business side of it. I don’t blame him for playing. I just think that decision might’ve cost him millions. I think he will be fine if he play in other leagues around the world, or maybe invests in business opportunities. Is not like he suddenly went broke.
I send my condolences to the family and friends of the basketball players who lost their lives and my respect and sympathy for the players with bad luck I know what that is like the door opens then slime shut just before you see what's going on on the other side ✌️🇬🇧✌️
I would’ve said Chris Paul was one of the most unlucky players ever… but after the last two years, he’s blown his chances to win a chip, despite luck favouring him, with constant injuries to opponent teams
@@lik7953 I agree, multiple chances after chances its actually surprising nobody knew that was gonna happen like wow. They're legacy is gonna take a big hit, they gotta do something big like go back to back to make up for this year in my opinion
I don't see why Len Bias is in this list and why there is no reference about that his collapse was because of cocaine abuse. I know it is still unlucky but compared to guys that got their careers cut being professionals or died in a car accident... not fair.
Uhm sorry but while I’m all for optimism a comeback to the NBA at this point would be almost impossible. He even got some 10 day contracts this season because of COVID but he just isn’t a good enough offensive player to make up for his tiny frame
@@enthusiastofcute He got a 1 year contract with the hornets and dropped 11 points in 10 minutes so I'm still hopeful but your 100 percent right about the tiny frame thanks for the reply
RIP DRAZEN PETROVIC may you rest in peace 🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️😭😭😭😭😭😭 we wish you were still here with us today may you rest in peace 🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 and RIP to prime d rose may the prime d rose rest in peace we wish you were still here with us today may you rest in peace 🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Anderson Varejao has to be on this list, played for cleveland and lost in the 2007 finals, 2015 finals and then got signed by golden state in the 2016 season but then lost the 2016 nba finals against the cavs. I guess he still has a ring under his name because he played a few games with the warriors in the 2017 season before getting waived that season but still
This channels research is a joke effort on a good day. They claimed Bias died from a seizure when it was actually an arrythmia from a cocaine over dose.
Bill Walton. after the title with the Blazers he suffered several injuries missing several seasons (in the meanwhile he went to the Clips (in SD and LA - the latter for a single season), and in the end he had a comeback with the Celtics helping them to the 1986 title as a 6th man (6th man of the Year)
Elgin Baylor: Never won a ring despite being one the greatest scorer behind wilt back in 60's Well he should've had one but he retired and eventually his team won in 1972.
thegreathutt True, but still, If Melo wouldn’t have been acting sillly, Lin wouldnt have even had to have “many chnaces after new york” he could have stayed in the city and environment that worked for him. There are many players that do well on one team and not so well on other teams, some coaching and management systems just don’t mesh well with sone players personalities and play styles and skill sets.
I played against Greg when I was 15 in AAU. Man was dominant as fuck! His story breaks my heart the most cause I wanted him to be the next wilt chamberlain cause he dropped 40 something on us with over 20 rebounds and like 5 blocks
I suggest people look into the Len Bias story if at all interested because it’s one of the saddest/craziest stories you’ll ever hear. I’m not sure if the way it was skimmed over here was intentional but it definitely doesn’t do it justice. ESPN has a doc on him called without bias
I would argue if you made it to the NBA you're pretty fucking lucky. How long you stay doesn't really matter. Your life will never be the same after you make it Pro, and will probably still have more advantage than most people in this world to succeed even without basketball.
i don't think Drazen, Thomas, and T-Mac should even be considered on this list. unfortunate death and injuries happened, but these were all-stars. if injuries counts as unlucky, Penny, GHill, Brandon Roy, Jay Williams, should all be on this list. i'm pretty sure there are way more, but these are just ones popped right off my head.
Yeah, where is Jay Williams and Brandon Roy here? Grant Hill would absolutely be on here if he didn't reinvent himself as a shooter once he lost his explosiveness.
Idk I give it to Brandon knight for actually going up. Although getting dunked on all the time it’s better than half these players who are scared to go up.
That's a really strange thing to say Drazen Petrovic dying as one of the unluckiest NBA player's! IMO it doesn't belong in this category it could be considered quite offensive to some and if U have Drazen where's Reggie Lewis, Bison Dele, Earl the 🐐 Manigault where does it end!!!???I don't agree with Len Bias in the video either.
Why are you comparing deaths, all are very tragic but this one happens to be in the video And i dont think he wants to make a 40 min video covering all deaths and injuries
Len just didn't have a seizure the guy had been snorting ccaine through out the night before that. If your going to put him in the video at least tell that part.
