Las Vegas keep your eye on UNLV wide receiver Jacob De Jesus. #27 flashed all spring camp impressing the UNLV Football coaching staff and players with his speed and athleticism.
De Jesus transferred from Modesto Junior College after playing for two seasons with the Pirates. At Modesto JC he totaled 2,550 all-purpose yards and was the Valley Conference Most Valuable Offensive Player as a sophomore.
The junior receiver flashed at UNLV's spring game leaping over Cameron Oliver hauling in a 25-yard catch from Harrison Bailey. De Jesus also scored a touchdown zipping past defenders flexing his speed in the spring game. After the spring game, he proposed to his girlfriend Kirstien.
The Rebels kick off their 2023 season under new head coach Barry Odom on Saturday September 2nd against Bryant at Allegiant Stadium.

I’m happy to see that UNLV gave him that 1 in a million shot. Who better to gamble on him than Las Vegas? It’s been a long time coming, finally the coaches realize that players his size can really be impact players. I played high school ball in the late 80’s and college in the early 90’s. Coaches back then looked at physical attributes regardless of what a guy could do on the field. Being 5’ 9” 215, I had to fight for everything just to make the squad in college. They wanted the running back to be 6 foot 220-230. As I sat on the sideline in college watching our season dashed because our starting running back was sitting on -5 yards rushing by the end of the 1st half. I knew in my heart I was better than that guy. But we had an old school coach with an NFL mentality. It left me jaded for many years after college. It left me with a lot to prove to myself. Unfortunately, that part of life is a flash in the pan. Can’t play the game forever and the college shelf life is super short. I’m watching the game tonight and cheering for this fine young man and father of a nice family. Best wishes.

That's really cool. I love watching him play, he's so great! He seems to be an outstanding man too. If darren sproles, trindon Holliday, jacquizz Rodgers, and deuce Vaughn can make it then I know he surely can too. I think he may be just as tall or even taller than some of those great guys too. His height definitely shouldn't be held against him because he is a straight baller.
