Sunday afternoon hoops with Keith Jackson and Dicky V were great. Awesome matchups in the early 90's. Thanks, for sharing.

He was great covering baseball as well. Personally liked him and Vitale together, it was 2 polar opposites that worked well imo

Larry Johnson’s field goal percentage at 61% is off the hook! Especially at 6’6.

Robert thank you for this site as it is the greatest. I am watching all the games during corona. I have been a runnin reb fan since Tark took the job. Sorry to say I stopped following them when they forced Tark out. He was the second greatest coach ever, just right behind John Wooden. I have pictures of myself on my knees bowing toward the Thomas & Mack LOL!!!! Thanks again sir. Keep up the great job.

AZ had a pretty stacked Frontline for a college team especially ( Sean Rooks off the bench too ) but that starting backcourt looks like a bus stop ad for the local State Farm office. I went to NBA Reference to see if all 4 of those forwards ( Buechler was listed as a G but is a SF for all intents & purposes ) spent time in the NBA , or actually to verify if Ed Stokes did as I knew other 3 did for sure ... drafted early 2nd round but only got into 4 games. The year after this AZ would add Chris Mills and Khalid Reeves , both of whom would be immediate contributors.

Yep the O'Bannon brothers were coming to okay with isah rider an who noes who else they would won a couple more national championships had tark not been screwed over they were set for kill for the foreseeable future at this point an thed ncccas destroyed it for un paid long distance calls .they had absolutely nothing on unlv that's why it's so sad they destroyed what was a dynasty in the making an who noes what coulda been
@russellwarner363
@russellwarner363 2 года назад
@@brianbooher7318 yep, Ed O'Bannon wanted to come to UNLV, his brother would have followed. Don't forget Shon Tarver wanted to sign also. Don MacLean, Jason Kidd, Shawn Kemp, Juwan Howard were interested.

Surprising that UNLV has not been able to duplicate their success from the 80's and 90's. I'd like to see a resurgence.
@russellwarner363
@russellwarner363 2 года назад
As a fan during this time, the reason they haven't had the success is because they don't have an athletic department focused on committing to basketball or hiring a top notch coach to bring it back to the glory days. If they copied the way Alabama focuses on football, they could return but you need the right people.

thank you so much for this upload! the clarity is very good considering this was 1990. i am a die hard wildcat fan as i gather youre a rebs fan! have you checked out the 1991 ncaa tourney game of the rebs in tucson against georgetown? its here on youtube and the hoyas that year gave the rebs the best game in that tourney! i believe that is where the animosity between lj and zo began! thanks again!!!

Being a diehard CatFan (whom I think in the past 25 years has had the best pro ready program) that Lute got scared of the Cat's Home Winning Streak coming to an end to UNLV in 1991 and why he canceled that game.
@rawn4203
@rawn4203 5 лет назад
@@BAYAREA-kd1ig Lute states it was because of some bad behaviour by the rebs during this game here. AZ was pretty good in 91 and even beat Duke in tucson that season and AZ may have pulled off the upset against UNLV had they played as they played them tough in this game here in vegas but most likely would have fell short.

This is like Vin Scully and John Madden doing an NFL game.
@dddddd81529
@dddddd81529 3 года назад
Scully did do NFL games for CBS in fact he called The Catch game....Jackson and Vitale were great together I remember it took awhile for them to get chemistry but when they did it worked perfectly
@MrT8599
@MrT8599 2 года назад
@@dddddd81529 not to mention Scully and Madden called some games together as well. In 1981, with the decision to have John Madden become CBS’ lead NFL analyst, the previous lead team of Pat Summerall and Tom Brookshire had to be changed. CBS (I think) had both Scully and Summerall in mind to be the lead play-by-play announcer, but they weren’t sure who was a better choice. That season, both Scully and Summerall called games with John Madden as a way for CBS to determine who was the better choice for Madden’s play-by-play partner. Scully called several games in the early part of the 81 season, while Summerall was busy covering the US Open Tennis Tournament. Then Summerall called several games while Scully was busy doing the MLB postseason on CBS Radio. It was clearly evident at that point that Summerall and Madden were the better duo. It also was possible that CBS was already thinking of having Summerall and Madden as their lead NFL team but weren’t entirely sure, so they had Scully call some games with Madden as a way to hedge their bets. This made Scully mad, and that might have been why CBS ended up letting him call that year’s NFC Championship Game, as CBS was going to be showing Super Bowl XVI that year as well. Regardless, Scully still decided to leave CBS after calling the 1982 World Series on the radio and became the new lead play-by-play announcer for the MLB on NBC in 1983.

101 an 6 at when he left unlv he an the rebs had the highest wining percent ever his bulldog an other schools pulled his win percent down a Lil but the man new what he was doing an had his team's perfume at their peak in tournament that's why the 91 team got upset by Duke they were banned from the tournament until right before the tournament an with nothing to play for after regular season he let the. Loose early.its a shame what the nccaa destroyed this program that never has recovered in 30 years an only violation they had on unlv was a few unpaid long distance phone bills that's pretty fucked up
