If you haven't binge-watched Netflix's Unorthodox yet what have you been doing?
The series is loosely based on Deborah Feldman’s 2012 memoir 'Unorthodox: The Scandalous Rejection of My Hasidic Root' and follows the story of Esty. Esty is a young ultra-Orthodox Jewish girl in Brooklyn, New York, who feels suffocated in her tightly-knit community (and her marriage) so leaves to start a new life in Berlin, Germany.
We spoke to Shira Haas about the series, shaving her head and her friendships with her co-stars.

Yankee as a character was also so interesting... he was just as lost as her. Probably more as he was just following what was expected from him without asking himself what he really wants or what made sense for both of them. Esty had a strength and courage he didn’t ...

I didn't know her before Unorthodox, but she seems like such a lovely person. She's so talented and I'm sure she's gonna win some big prize during her lifetime.

Fun Fact: Shira has won an Ophir (the Israeli Oscar) for her role in the 2018 movie “Noble Savage.”

I came here just to say how amazing i thought she was in unorthodox. I cried, i felt for her, i understood her, she was authentic. Simply Amazing ! ❤️ I’m with everyone saying this woman deserves an award !!!!
