When I was a kid, I had a relative who gave birth in the 6th month & sadly the child didn't survive long because their organs weren't fully developed. Afterwards, my relative found out she had a blood issue that she took medication for & was able to have another child later. Ever since then, my thoughts on being "pro-life" vs. "pro-choice" have always been abortion is fine in the 1st & 2nd trimesters since the child can't survive outside the womb on their own, but 3rd trimester it depends on if the birth will effect the life of the mother.
I laughed out loud when they showed the clinic employees throwing her baby shower and framing it as this horribly insensitive thing. How dare those evil monsters... *checks notes* support a mother to be and celebrate her upcoming birth.
- Does 1930s gangster voice. - Because, see, it makes them hypocritical, see? Because see, you can only not abort any fetus (fetuses=babies, see) or be happy for any baby, see? Which means, see it is bad and they're bad, see? SEE?!
Completely unrelated: I love the phrase "checks notes". It implies that the notion is so preposterous that the brain refuses to commit it to long term memory, presumably out of self defence, and so you need to carry a slip with a reminder lest you forget it.
Once, in my very late teens/early 20s, I had a job that didn't have health insurance. I had read somewhere that planned parenthood (in my town it was called "womens health center" but it was a planned parenthood) gave free womans healthcare (pap smears, gyn, etc.) I had a cyst on my ovary, for which I had went to the emergency room. Anyway I went to this planned parenthood because I couldn't afford a private GYN. I, being young and having not read the news, was surprised to see a bunch of women standing outside and stopping people. One of the ladies stopped me and said "your mother wouldn't want you to do this. You look like a good girl, your mother loves you." And I was like "my mom wouldn't want me to get a pap smear?" I was so confused. 😂 and the lady, also confused, was like "what?" And I was like "also, my mom is dead." And she was like "oh, I'm so sorry" and walked off.
I went to a PP in my early 20's for a birth control script because I also couldn't afford a private doctor. While I was in there and my boyfriend was in the waiting room waiting for me, somebody slashed one of his tires. We only noticed after we got back in the car to leave. We went back the next day to tell security what happened and ask if they had any CCTV footage of that angle (they didn't). I stayed in the car. My boyfriend walked out of the building alone, and one of the protesters yelled "save your baby!" at him. It was just so weird and asinine to be shouting that at a lone man.
Planned parenthood doesn’t have any free services. I tried to go there many times for services, and it was insane expensive. I ended up going to Christian pregnancy centers, everything was free. Oh and I’m an atheist so…
@@warlordofbritannia Planned Parenthood is closed on Sundays, or at least my local one is so that's a good irl reason as to why not Sunday, though I doubt they would put even the barest amount of effort to research something like that.
The fact that this company went on to copyright claim every single second of film used in this review tells you all you need to know about how willing they are to listen to dissenting opinions. The fact CJ managed to upload it anyway tells you how much of an alpha chad he is.
That's actually not too far off from the truth. The PP clinic I worked at scheduled all their abortions for Wednesdays so that they could have the appropriate staff in once a week. Now there were people that came in for other things, but the vast majority of the clinic time was spent on abortions that day. And the protesters did figure it out and show up on those days.
I occasionally end up with blood on my shoes working at the red cross drawing blood. What a weirdly unintentional benign scene for me and people in healthcare.
They did not seriously try to use “How To Save a Life,” a song about how to save others in their struggles, and try to twist it to say “No no no. It’s about being anti-abortion.”
Reminds me of how right wingers try to use “We’re Not Gonna Take It” by Twisted Sister to support their views, when the singer himself said he stood against them.
"Born in the USA" is often played as a patriotism anthem, when it's about how returning vets from Vietnam faced major economic hardships while Americans give surface-level love and praise about the military rather than actually helping them.
In a similar vain, there's "Fortunate Son," which is often played up as a patriotic war song, when it's really an anti war song about how the narrator had the misfortune of being forced to go fight in the war and ends up traumatized by it, and about all the upper class kids his age who were able to avoid the draft due to their parent's money, something he didn't have the fortune of.
Regardless of your personal beliefs, a band name like Pieces of Children would go hard and should definitely tour with bands like Dying Fetus, Butcher Babies, Infant Annihalator, etc
I cannot believe she literally called her mixed-race son her "brown son" and said it was alright for police officers to profile him. Like...seriously? The poor child!
@@e-tean-son4146 And it is a controversial opinion that I fully agree with. It is a person literally devaluing a group (or groups) of people's lives vs. people who actually values the lives of those who need it (both mentally physically)

As someone who used to work at Planned Parenthood: -Small clinic do specific days of surgical abortions (its the patients choice which one they want unless unfortunately they are too far along) -It doesn't matter how far along a patient it is, the price is the same. Literally had a person who was in charge in finding funds for the procedures -We check POC in the moment to make sure everything is accounted for to make sure the patients are taken care of -We pulled all patients back alone for first for any appointment type to ask ipv (interpersonal violence questions). So a patient wasn't pressured into anything they don't want to -My facility manager worked her ass off to make our recovery room comfortable -We were always training to be up to date on comfort, care, and knowledge -We always made sure the patients had a follow up plan and details on what to expect and when to call if you have a problem. These appointments go from 2-6 hours depending on what we do and full education -We are a nonprofit, medical clinic. We abide by all medical and HIPPA laws -We NEVER interact with protestors. We are there for the patients. Period.
I applaud your work, I admire your courage, and I feel like a jerk for laughing at the way you ended that list. Because abortion brings about periods faster than pregnancy does. ... I'll show myself out.
Exactly. I feel like abortion is a right. It’s something nobody shouldn’t be able to get. Abortion clinics are super safe and do everything they can to make sure it’s what the person really wants, and that they won’t regret it
You know what's even worse? They showed this movie at my school last year. I go to an italian catholic school and the principal decided to make the high school watch this movie. When it ended, the teachers left us alone to talk about the movie. We were all thinking the same thing. At one point a kid stood up and said "This movie is shit", we all started cheering at him.
@@stuffynosepatrol and? All women who die in childbirth have developed pain receptors. Again, in a lot of these cases, the child is either heavily deformed and will languish in agony while slowly dying, or will their mother/both of them. Women shouldn’t have to slowly die just because the fetus can feel pain.
Yeah, nobody has a late-term abortion because they just got distracted or suddenly "changed their mind" because they realized a kid was going to harsh their mellow.
My mom had a miscarriage about 15 years ago when I was 10. It was late miscarriage due to a fetal abnormality. She had to undergo a D&E (dilation & evacuation) which is a an abortion procedure. She put under anesthesia and only felt slight cramping and bled a little. This was a very wanted pregnancy. Even after having almost 3 kids my mom is still very pro choice. Since Roe V Wade was overturned having a miscarriage can be seen as an abortion because there is no way to prove that it was natural end to the pregnancy. Also in your medical records if you get a D&C or another similar procedure for a miscarriage it will be listed as an abortion.
On my medical records I had one abortion. Abortion is the medical definition. “Miscarriage” is a colloquial term, not medical. So I stop a lot of anti-choice people when I put out my file and show them “one abortion.” And they want to cry with me and ask me why I chose that. Lmao dummies. It was what you would call a miscarriage but you wanna pass laws that make me go to jail. And laws that kill women. And laws that punish doctors. Momma Doctor Jones is really good for more info about this for anyone curious.
@@tabathaalshalhoub1653 Yep. Even the medical textbooks I read as a teenager for my sexual education consistently referred to miscarriage as "spontaneous abortion" or "abortion."
Lol yes, 0.3% of abortions are due to a threat of miscarriage, that's why we need to enable aborting 99% of healthy kids 😂👍🏻 It's just SCIENCE, we fascists wouldn't get it
I’m related to the person that wrote this book. She’s one of my cousins. She’s had abortions but believes others shouldn’t be allowed to make that decision for themselves… My aunt tried to get me to watch this movie when I was visiting. I declined.
When I was visiting my extended family in Texas, my Aunt wanted me to watch this movie. She was like “it’s really dark but has a good message” I watched it on my own later. The movie is really dumb. And is full of misinformation. I still can’t comprehend how she’s had abortions and is now like “no one can make this choice for themselves because of my personal experience and beliefs”

The planned parenthood where I live doesn’t even perform abortions, and you still see protestors standing outside the clinic. These prolifers really don’t want to do their research
Not Saturdays, but I was a volunteer escort at a PP in college and two days a week, they only did abortion services. One day was counseling, the other day was procedures (because my state had a waiting period). From what I understand, it was because PP received federal funding but couldn't use any of it for abortion. We actually had to turn away people coming for BC on those days and tell them to come back the next day because of this. And yes, the protests were much larger on abortion days.
This!! I used to volunteer at a women's clinic in Tennessee before the overturn of Roe, even though that clinic primarily gave out contraception and testing (pregnancy/mammogram/sti):these "godly" people would show up with fetus gore posters, dragging their children out to scream obscenities. OK, one tiny part of this just fascinated me: the Christian, pro-"family values" lady thinks that you should get one vote per household? Cuz... that literally just created an incentive for people NOT to live in the same household. I assume she probably *also* thinks that single people shouldn't have a vote at all or something... but unless she says that, she's just told everyone that getting married and moving in together halves your combined vote and you should want that. I dunno, maybe she's right. Maybe some singleton tyranny is in order.

She absolutely lied about the “baby fighting for its life” thing though.
The same way child murder is considered medicine at all. And to think they made a pariah out of Dr. Kevorkian! At least his patients got born before they decided to end it all! Talk about being pro-choice!

Abby was flabbergasted by that patient at 27:48 getting an abortion for “convenience”, but she herself had an abortion after her divorce because she didn’t want anything to do with her loser ex. Like girl you also aborted your pregnancy for “convenience” so I don’t understand why you’re so shocked by this.
ah, but you see, that situation was different. Because it affected the POV character, so therefore it was justifiable. That other girl was just a background character who in no way has any deeper thoughts or background on why she might get an abortion. Obviously. (But seriously, this hypocrisy is surprisingly prevalent in Right Wing circles. Something iscompletely bad and evil and of the devil until it suddenly affects me personally, in which case it's actually a lot more complicated you see?)
When I went to get an abortion many years ago, the worst part of the whole experience was the people outside yelling filthy things at me (at that time hopelessly addicted to opioids) and my (then) abusive boyfriend. I still can’t figure out how yelling insults at vulnerable people in bad situations is a loving, Christian duty. It’s not a solution, it didn’t help anything - but you could totally tell they were enjoying themselves calling me names and reminding me that hell awaits. By the by, after the abortion I got rid of the guy, got off drugs, and got my act together - these days I’m happily married to a good man and we’ve got a bunch of kids and dogs and cats. My life is full of love. Don’t ever let someone force you into carrying a pregnancy to term if you don’t feel safe - if it feels wrong, follow your gut and try again when you’re ready.
I'm so sorry you went through all that. Some people forget that just because they believe in a purpose they find noble, it doesn't mean it justifies being a bully. (And as a Christian, I want to apologize for those of us that frankly suck, and choose to foster hatred). Anyway, I'm really happy that your life is going better now. Your family sounds awesome, and I'm happy that they're loving and good to you :)
I'm so sorry you had to go through that, it is really hypocritical how they act, but congratulations to you for how you brought yourself out of that situation.
You could've done all that without the abortion, and how is it wrong what they are doing. They have a right to be against murder and evil murder corporations.

As someone who has had an abortion at Planned parenthood I can tell you that 32:55 is a complete lie. They tell you upfront that an abortion is $600. They don't wait until the ultrasound. In fact the ultrasound is usually optional. In my state of Missouri though, it was required by law at the time for them to preform and show you the ultrasound. The price is also negotiable. I paid $45 for mine because I was deeply impoverished and qualified for a charity to cover most of my fees. In addition they were not at all pushy about abortions. They explained all my options and even gave me information to groups that could help me if I kept the baby, groups that offered things like housing and adoption assistance. Its very disappointing that many people only know PP for abortions when they do so much more. The abortion was the first time I went there but since then I've been going to them for everything from birth control to endometriosis treatment.
They still do abortions which is evil and wrong and makes them wrong too. A corporation that kills thousands with unsafe work environments wouldn't be fine because they give to charity.
@@budokanmetal4999 i know youre a troll and also this is none of your business anyway, but I'll give you a few reasons as to why someone might choose to have an abortion rather than go through pregancy and give it up for adoption: 1. Pregancy sucks. It is uncomfortable, stops people from working, is a finantial burden, and sometimes physically changed someone for the rest of their lives in a way they dont want. Wanting to be pregnant makes these symptoms okay, since it is your choice and a risk and sacrifice you are willing to make, but if you dont want to be pregnant, these symptoms are not worth it. 2. Giving birth is dangerous. America has one of the highest mortality rates for women giving birth in any wealthy country. Giving birth can also cause permanent vaginal damage and c-sections are common. Theyre risky and leave permanent scars since theyre a surgery. 3. Giving birth is expensive. The average cost of giving birth in an american hospital is $10,000. Idk what else to say, a lot of people, especially poor people, cannot affort to give birth, especially to a child they dont even plan on taking care of themselves. 4. Emotional attachment to the child after giving birth as well as postpartum depression. Giving birth and then immediately giving up your child is traumatizing. A lot of people get abortions because they cannot afford to have children, as raising a child for 18 years costs an absurd amount of money, something like $100,00. If you know you are going to give up the baby, the entire process of being pregant and giving birth are all the more painful. 5. Foster and adoption system in america is very very very bad. Idk if i need to elaborate on this, but it's extremely bad. There have been studies on it, go read them if you want to be sad, i guess. 6. Eptopic pregancies and any other pregnancy that could kill the mother and/or baby. Giving birth is already dangerous, let alone if you have a condition that makes it multitudes MORE dangerous. My point is that even thinking or using empathy for a single minute could bring you to literally any conclusion that isnt asking this woman a weird, invasive, and accusatory question. Basically, fuck off.
From what I've learned, it did happen ONCE, and yes, there were prison sentences, and the clinic involved was actually worse than what's shown in this movie even though they basically stole details of that case for this abortion of a propaganda piece.
Ironically, to get past copyright in this video, CJ had to abort the footage. The crying was already pretty funny, but the splits across several CRT TVs were beautiful.
I remember when I was 14 or 15 and the private Christian school I went to gave us extra credit for attending a free screening of this movie. I remember feeling horrified while watching thinking: Abortion is wrong, this is murder. Now that I'm an adult with critical thinking skills I'm like: That was freaking propaganda...wtf Also for anyone whose wondering I am pro-choice and I don't think people without a uterus should be making laws about it.
@@AutismGaming489 One might say it’s a CHOICE. My reasoning for being pro choice is the multiple women who are being denied life saving abortions for ectopic pregnancies, the women who are forced to deliver babies that will not survive, and the women with the health condition I have that are suffering because of pro-lifers. Being pro choice gives these people the choice upon their own body whereas being pro-life removes it. Also before you say anything about being autistic or throwing that into this discussion I am not saying being pro-choice means aborting a possibly autistic child, if that were the case I wouldn’t be here.
@@ChessurDeCattyeah that was weird. I’m autistic too but I don’t think autism has anything to do with this argument, or general critical thinking skills at all.

The claim that they won't allow you to look at the ultrasound is so silly because it is actually required by law that you look at the ultrasound in several US states lol Like they literally will not give you an abortion if you do not look at the ultrasound while they describe it in detail to you
The idea of the law is that if you force the woman to look at a picture of her Little Bobby Fetus, it'll jump-start the maternal instincts and she will change her mind at the last moment. I wonder if it ever actually worked.
@@vylbird8014 That is grossly manipulative... Taking a look, sure. But with the intention to guilt trip them into not performing the procedure? Disgusting.

The Holocaust comparison REALLY pisses me off for two reasons. 1: I'm Jewish, and the attempted systematic extermination of my people shouldn't be used as a talking point for forced-birthers. Fetuses cannot survive outside the womb, they aren't people imo. Holocaust victims were independent, thinking, feeling human beings who were slaughtered due to their ethnicity. The comparison is insulting. 2: One of the often overlooked heroes of the Holocaust is Dr. Gisella Perl. She was an Hungarian Jewish gynecologist who was imprisoned in Auschwitz and later Bergen-Belsen. Because of her medical background, she was forced to assist Josef Mengele, the monster who experimented on prisoners. Mengele had a particular obsession with pregnant women. When Perl realised what Mengele was doing to these women and children, she swore that there would never be a pregnant woman in Auschwitz again. She performed hundreds of abortions at night, in secret, and with no proper medical tools in order to keep these women away from Mengele and the other Nazis (who liked to beat pregnant women to death or throw them into crematoriums alive). It was tragic, since some of these women did probably want their babies, but Perl knew that being pregnant would lead to the horrific deaths of two lives, so she resolved to save the one life she could. After the camps were liberated, Perl looked for her family, and found out her husband, son, parents, and extended family were all dead, and her daughter was missing. She tried to kill herself but failed. She eventually went to he U.S as a speaker about the Holocaust, wrote a book about her experience, and started practicing medicine again in New York City, where she delivered thousands of babies. Before she entered the delivery room, Dr. Perl would always say, "G-d, you owe me a life, a living baby." Perl eventually found out her daughter was alive in Israel and moved there to be with her. Apparently, some Jewish women in Israel and in other places recognized her, and they thanked her for saving their lives. Abortion not only saved the lives of Holocaust victims, it saved them from sadistic torture at the hands of one of humanity's worst monsters. So I hope I don't have to explain why using the Holocaust as some "gotcha" against abortion is beyond horrible. Fuck this movie, fuck forced-birthers, and fuck every single asshole who uses my people's worst massacre as a talking point.
Fr, and also, imagine if I was pregnant by rape, and if I would have a high chance of dying. And I would have to die for a child that I never wanted, and that child would probably grow up in foster care or something and would know the truth, and these idiots are going off saying that abortion is murder, I cannot with people! And comparing it to the holocaust is absurd, these are clumps of cells that have the potential to be people, not people!
Thank you for sharing this. Books about the holocaust are being banned in many states including the one where I live. My high-school English teacher had a curriculum centered around the holocaust. Every book we read was about the holocaust mostly from survivors. We never read about this doctor! I wish we had. I hate that my younger cousins are going to be attending schools that limit their education and try to ignore history.
I'm angry for 2 reasons: For one: This movie is cringy, misguided and true propaganda. And two: You made me nearly choke to death with that "death star for fetuses" line 😂 Fucking BRILLIANT
Yeah, same as the Jim Caviesel movie, about child trafficking. The guy they claimed it was a true story about, was proven to have lied about his place in Homeland Security, as well as the actual saving of anyone. The actual story, was about an adult woman, who was just a prostitute, at a young age, and he took her out of the country illegally. He also screwed up actual operations, that were trying to bring down a bigger trafficking organization. Never believe _any_ “based on true events” or “based on a true story” or especially “based on real people and real events, with some characters and situations changed for dramatization. Names and places have been changed to protect the people.” 🤣
It isn't propaganda if it showcases the good and bad of both sides...there are pro choicers that care about women's lives and right to bodily autonomy AND abortionists that care about the money and say that women's regret is right-wing propaganda and ignoring women dying from the procedure. AND pro-lifers that offer women other options and ones that harass women and take lives of women that provide abortions. It doesn't demonize Abby or the other workers other than the boss.

I feel like I'd be way more offended by this shit if I _were_ opposed to the subject, since it would make my own side look stupid and leave observers in a position where they'd be far less likely to listen if I were to present a genuine and rational argument. It's like how InfoWars made it impossible to effectively criticise the Obama administration because the uninformed masses just assume you're talking about interdimensional vampire lizards from space rather than big money in Washington and corporate warmongering in the middle east.

My parents even asked us what we thought about abortion after it, I didn’t even know what abortion was. This is disgusting and knowing what I know now I hate that my parents pushed that onto my impressionable mind
As someone who grew up in a religious family, this is a good example of how they influence by fear. As a little kid i was even terrified of the word "athiest." Like anyone who didnt believe in jesus was baisically a devil worshipper. They rely on misinformation and make people afraid of the non believers from a young age so they grow up to be adults like this. Of course its important to recognize many people are christians and live in the real world, and are genuinely good people who dont fall for it, but its just so absurd how this movie showcases how millions of people actually think.

Honestly i'm probably about as close to a pro-choice strawman as you can get, and I _hate_ abortions. I think preventing them is important. It's just that we shouldn't prevent them with public shaming and legal restrictions, we should prevent them with increased access to high quality education, birth control, pregnancy care and childcare.

as someone who actually had an abortion, and dont regret it, but- they asked me if I were sure, and offered resources in case i DID want to keep the baby. We did an ultrasound and they let me keep 2-3 copies of what they looked like, lol they didnt “refuse” to let me see the fetus, they just let me make the final decision after showing me. With all of the...less than subtle insinuations in that film, I somehow doubt that it was a coincidence that the woman who was so casual about getting an abortion despite having no 'excuse' for it, was played by a black woman.
Whenever I see something like that, I remember a girl from my school that volunteered to hold anti-abortion presentations, and then had abortion herself. I don't think she was a hypocrite, she stopped her pro-life activism after it. Something about sawing off the branch you're sitting on comes to mind.
I worked at a movie theater when this came out and the amount of grandmothers coming out of the theater with giant smiles on their faces and personally thanking us for showing this movie was absolutely jarring and disturbing. The rise of films like this from 2018 and 2019 was a big reason that job stopped being fun.
I was forced to watch this, and, even as an older teen, I was greatly affected by the movie. I TRULY thought that the abortion scene was real, with the doctors being rough on the patient, the crude suction sounds (they got me bad for some reason), and the bad CGI "baby" fighting for its life in the womb. After watching the movie, I admit I turned pro-life for a little while, believing abortions to be malicious and dangerous both for the woman and the unborn "baby." Now I am an adult, watching this video with a clear mind. I'm not being forced to watch it with people who react like its all true. Now I am watching with a critic who can call all the bullshit out when I can't. I can tell when CGI is being used (though admittedly the scene still makes me sick to my stomach because I'm just weak to that stuff 😭). To any child/adult who was forced to watch this movie, I am sorry you had to put up with this, whether it be the cringey acting, or the bloody scenes.
how come people who exclusively focus on what upsets them can never write realistic dialogue or form coherent thoughts? It it that there's no room left in their heads for logic?
Speaking from experience that’s what happens when you dive deep into religious fundamentalism as it’s basically mostly a black and white mentality that doesn’t allow much imagination (especially if that imagination goes against what the church community teaches)

@@shinysoda6 So does that mean violent pro-abortionists are just as right as peaceful ones? Arguibly, i'd say they are even MORE in the right, cuz they at least have initiative to get the message across.
A story I have from entering an abortion clinic, it was calm and quiet inside, everyone was gentle and very soft spoken since no one WANTS to be there. Upon entering (I entered twice) we had a lady who stood between us and protestors with an umbrella who made sure we were okay before showing us through. A traumatic experience with supportive and understanding professionals. I would never wish needing to have an abortion upon anyone but the fact that it's an option is so extremely necessary. (I don't wanna discuss these things further then throwing down a vague part of my experience and general opinion, so I'm not gonna reply if anyone wants to fight lol)
That’s why they’re pro birthers, breeders. 9 million babies are born all the time. Who cares about one Fetus that is aborted? Why obsess over a stranger and their body, they get to choose if that Fetus gets to use their body and resources or not. Also they don’t cry about babies who starve to death in extreme poverty countries or the orphanages or homelessness . They don’t donate, offer to pay for housing, food, clothes, medical things baby necessities, etc etc especially for 18 years
When i see anti's and can stomach dealing with them, i always ask, "What do you actually DO to help women and girls with crisis pregnancies?" Do you have a disowned pregnant 16-year old living with you? Do you pay for someone's Prenatal visits? Give somebody a lift to the hospital? Take someone to Prenatal yoga/class/ breastfeeding class? Supply diapers, formula? What do you do that will ACTUALLY HELP?

absolutely crazy that women, who already exist as living human beings, are supposed to sacrifice everything and give up on their own lives the moment they become pregnant no matter what the circumstances. I'm glad you were able to access one, anyway
Its especially funny because Planned Parenthood's distribution of free contraceptives does WAY more for reducing abortions than any pro-life organization ever did.
Most planned parenthood’s are just contraceptive dispensaries anyways…not that facts and logic have ever stopped the “facts don’t care about your feelings” crowd
This movie makes me so mad. I've been to planned parenthood when I found a lump on my breast. And I looked at their sterilization services for a while because their costs were lower than the places around me. Planned parenthood was there when I needed help the most and wasn't able to get it from my doctors. How do these people not realize the damage they're doing?
Been there 3 times. Once to get a birth control implant, once to get the implant removed, and the first time was to confirm a pregnancy test. I cried when it came back positive because my baby was 2 months old. But the only questions asked of me was a) am I in a safe home and b) did I want this? My kids are 11 months apart and thanks to them I haven't had any more. Cost me $20 a visit. Bless PP!
When I was a fundamentalist Catholic I was pretty much made to believe PP was something close to Satan and the AntiChrist, considering that Catholicism (if you follow it to the letter like I did) almost completely prohibits birth control or almost any form of proper sex ed (and the Catholic high school I went to just gave me some theologically dense bullshit justifying abstinence although their academics were fine otherwise) that’s probably another reason why they hate it so much. I left Christianity altogether years ago and I’m an atheist now but I’m still deconstructing all the nonsense I used to believe in, again if you follow Catholicism closely it also says that the fetus must be saved at any cost even if woman dies in the process (look up Gianna Beretta Molla who John Paul II made a saint in 2002, fuck that guy and most of the church hierarchy I used to be so loyal to) and that’s pretty much what happened to a woman in Ireland in 2012 which led to the country legalizing the procedure after massive backlash even though decades ago the place was heavily Catholic and was something close to a theocracy.

14:51 Okay if this Planned Parenthood lady is the 'bad guy' WHY does she have SUCH a banger outfit?? Like come on Abby? Like put her in a suit and demon horns idk?!
Abby Johnson reminds me of the Roe in Roe v Wade. Norma McCorvey (Roe), for those who dont know, became an anti abortion activist for the financial incentive. On her deathbed, she admitted that it was all an act for money. Though, I doubt we'll see the hopeful conclusion that McCorvey reached in Johnson.
I remember being shocked when I heard she was a pro-life advocate and my grandmother laughing and saying she’s taking them to the bank. And then I read her death bed statements and 🤣🤣 granny was right!!
Oof I remember when that came out. So many pro life activists were coping hard and ofc Abby Johnson had to share her totally not made up story about how Norma McCorvey was actually pro life and even called her of all people a few days before she died because “she had a guilty conscience about abortion” and whatever. Grifters gotta grift.
You should see what happened to MLK's children. His legacy came in the form of fame and a fair amount of income, and they disagreed over which direction to go in politically. One faction pushed hard towards being anti-abortion, the other towards focusing on racial issues - which meant taking opposite sites in terms of political party. It degenerated into multiple lawsuits exchanged between them as they bickered over dad's wealth, the copyright on his speeches, and auctioning off his personal belongings to high-paying collectors. The copyright on his speeches is vigorously enforced. Any time you see a clip of I Have A Dream on TV, you can be certain money changed hands to pay for it.

My OBGYN dropped by insurance while I was pregnant so they could only see me through to my 6 week health check. Hearing that Stat about how women are 14 times more likely to die in child birth shook me. I went to look up how many women die in child birth just in the US, and roughly 290,000 (rounded up) do. That is roughly 8% of women who give birth end up dying (mostly in the days after birth). Which honestly isn't as high as I originally thought when I hear "14 times more likely to die in child birth". That means there is an even lower chance of dying from an abortion.
Thanks to the new laws that number is projected to increase by 24% for white women and 39% for black women good job anti-abortionists you just killed millions of women in the US

Rules for abortions vary by state (and since I'm writing this in 2024, half of us can't even get them at all anymore 🙃), but I'll give my experience as someone who got an abortion at age 18 in Michigan: Before even getting the pregnancy test, I filled out a form that includes the question, "If you are pregnant, what options are you considering?" I wrote "abortion" and that's it. There were many other questions about family planning that I just skipped, because I knew for sure. After the positive test, I had to go in for a required counseling session where they discussed other options with me, including adoption. They weren't outright trying to change my mind, but it was clear that they were legally required to do these things. Naturally, they went over all the risks of abortion. There was 1 mention that it was safer than labor. I chose to do a medical (pill) abortion, which means we could have started it that day. But nope! First I had to wait a MANDATORY 5 DAYS so that I could "think it over." Came back 5 days later (did I mention it was a 1.5 hour drive both ways?) with my same decision. I was forced to have an ultrasound, and forced to look at the sonogram. It didn't affect me, but I'm sure it affects other women. I then had to sign paperwork saying that after I took the first pill they gave me in the office, I would take the second one. (It had to be taken hours later, but I was allowed to do it at home.) I got all kinds of paperwork about what could happen if I only took the first pill (birth defects, miscarriage). I signed it, went home, had my abortion. I had to return a few weeks later to get another ultrasound ensuring that the pregnancy had been fully terminated. I was given a questionnaire about how I'd been feeling since the abortion and offered free counseling, which I didn't need. After that, Planned Parenthood prescribed me birth control and did my pap smears for free. The reason I had gotten pregnant in the first place is because I had been kicked off my insurance when I turned 18, because I had a preexisting condition... CERVICAL CANCER. The cancer had been treated with surgery, but I was supposed to get screenings every 3 months to ensure it hadn't returned. My previous hospital -- Univ. of Michigan, one of the top hospitals in the world -- would not see me as a patient any longer, despite my high risk. Planned Parenthood did those cancer screening every 3 months for the next 4 years. They gave me birth control. They saved my life.
@@mathildeyoung1823 that's actually in the works. artificial wombs would be able to resume certain pregnancies in the 2nd trimester until they develop to term. win-win situation. and, that's still by definition an abortion despite fundamentalists like to describe it. as that improves we may be able to perform abortions that never require killing the unborn human at almost any stage of that pregnancy.
I remember when someone said the “solution” to ectopic pregnancy is to “put the fetus in the uterus.” To which I was like, “…… you didn’t pay attention to a single detail in biology class did you?”

I like the approach to avoiding copyright. Very fun, with the TV wall. Sounds like she changed sides out of spite, and made up the story of having a change of belief when challenged.
To me, abortion is pretty simple. Don't agree with it? Don't want it? DON'T HAVE ONE! But you CAN'T take away from other women the choice to do what their wish with their bodies, and take away this decision from victims of abuse, as well. The pro-life people should spend their time trying to help actual living children, and not fetuses, but noooo, as soon as the child is out of the womb, they no longer care. LOL, pathetic.
Yet your side wants to force vaccines on people. Also, abortion is murder and infringing on the rights of the unborn to live, so not having one does nothing. If didn't end all abortions.
And the whole "they don't care when they are born" is bullshit, just because they don't agree with the government taxes and stuff isn't the same as literally supporting murder.
You can't be forced to give up your bodily autonomy of tour organs, even after death, even if it saves a full human being's life. Are those "pro-lifers" also pro organ donations, even agains their will? After those babies people are forced to have are born, are they willing to give people the assistance they need to care for them? The financial and psychological support? No, because they are not actually pro-life, they are pro-birth. They don't care about how much those born kids suffer in foster care, in poverty, and if they turn to crime to survive, they suddenly want the death penalty. Deep down, they only want to take away people's freedom and have them suffer. Idk, I’d say believing that pro-lifers are playing 4D chess by saving children’s lives, only to kill them later, all because they get off on adding suffering to the world, is as conspiratorial as believing that pro-choicers push for abortions because their pagan god demands child sacrifices lol.
