Players getting suspended and forced into re-education courses for calling other players "racist or homophobic" names is ridiculous. It has become a worse crime than punching somebody in the head.
If a player gets suspended for 3 games for an on-field incident, they should be suspended from playing against the team they played. like if you draw a free kick, the team you play next week doesnt get it.
The dangerous tackle rule is getting exploited badly. It started with just a handfull of players and now nearly half the players in the league throw their heads flat on the ground when they get tackled. A ridiculous decision possibly cost Melbourne the game against Carlton just last night. But the way players are treating it, it is going to cost somebody a broken neck. The AFL needs to take decisive action if they are actually concerned about "protecting the head" as they claim. I think they would rather look like they are trying to "protect the head" rather than doing it.
Spot on. Competitive players will put their body on the line to win if the rules allow it and an advantage for these actions they will do it and exaggerate till someone is severely injured. 100 percent needs to be penalised for throwing their own heads into the ground 2 game suspension for Diving or Exaggerations as it could cost a team a game or more importantly a players long term health if it goes wrong.
On Aliir Aliir (as a Port fan), I think he works best as a roaming defender rather than a lockdown key defender. Intercepting is his bread and butter, but he's slow on his feet and a poor kick so not great when it comes to initiating the quick 1 on 1 turnovers that usually convert in our favour. Especially now that we have Ratugolea and BZT, relying on them as key 1 on 1 defenders and allowing Aliir to run wild I think would work better
Brisbane's injury list is both a good and a bad thing. Bad thing for the injured players, but good for our future going forward with more young guns being exposed to the top level
Cheers for doing mine, lad. Aliir certainly has his moment but after his AA hitout I haven't really seen a massive amount out of him since except for a couple shining moments. (He did very well against Geelong tonight that's for sure)
Time to comment on the tactical handcuffs of the 6 6 6 rule! Get rid of it! You can't blast people through the stoppage anymore or run decoys to open up play. Furthermore, for teams like the Kangas and West Coast, it's so much harder for them to be competitive. I remember a presser with Dimma when the rule was coming in where he called it. "It will widen the gap between the best and worst - and the poor teams will be unable to defend leading to wider margins" which is exactly what has happened. Time to go!
I 100% agree. The "stand" rule should go with it too. The problem is that the AFL has never admitted to a mistake and then rectified it. They believe that every move that they have ever made was a positive one
Fantastic episode with some very interesting takes, thanks for the shout out, keep up the awesome work. I feel that Harley is better than Daicos at the same time in their careers
Unpopular opinion - 1) Sampi's 2004 mark is the best ever - 20 years ago yesterday 2) AFL should reduce the number of teams in Melbourne rather than looking to create a 20th team - we already have too many one-sided matchups and it will only get worse. 3) Related to the last point - North Melbourne deciding to not relocate to the Gold Coast back in the early 2000s is the root of many of AFL's and North Melbourne's problems.
I can't take your channel seriously or subscribe until you stop calling Bont the best player in the comp. He is going to seriously struggle without Libba feeding him.
Nah, bro. Libba has been subbed off early in recent weeks and Bont has stepped up and led the charge. It's the rest of the team around him that's struggling
I don't think Bontempelli is the best player in the league but he is elite at nearly everything. He can win his own ball easily enough, just his last game alone showed that he is not at all reliant on Liberatore.
@@matt4694 no champ Merrett has been the best in recent times. I also don’t pay attention to half the footy experts since they’re talking out their ass
@@TheMemeMachineMatt that's a valid point mate. Still doesn't change the fact your comment is obnoxious and douchey. To say you won't subscribe over something so trivial.
