Honestlyyyyyyyyy i hate when my parents play older music 🤦🏽‍♀️ Also, i agree that with new music a song that you love this year might seem forgettable next year. However, i think that has less to do with the songs and more to do with the audience and with the industry . Younger generations tend to always want the new thing and get bored with the same stuff incredibly fast!! This means that artist have no choice but to constantly put out new songs to stay relevant because that’s what their audience wants. And the audience has so much more music available to them because it’s all digital so the competition has go to be so much more. (On a side note tho- one thing i love about music now especially living in Baltimore is that people who might not have had the ability to share their story through music before, now have a voice)

Old music that we are hearing is the filtered good songs that have passed the test of time, there are some crappy old songs too, believe me I have Trumped my parents with these crappy songs and squashed their argument with them

Love your show. Only I differ and strongly believe that we should give respect to elders overall as tradition is what we have left unlike in the west where kids say 'i don't care' and continue with that. But beyond a point if you feel that an elderly person is acting out it's ok to call them out too but respect is important. You wouldn't like anyone disrespecting your parents and all the elderly ppl are someone's parents. When I don't agree with my parents I just avoid the conversation or make an excuse and walk away. It shouldn't hurt our ego to respect age.
