I am a Swiftie who came late to the party. I first loved 1989 and then fell hard with Folklore and Evermore. Have been working my way back through each album for 2 years now and have fallen soooo hard for country Taylor. Speak Now is to die for, completely agree. Speaking of happy songs, I could not get into Fearless until I was in love - Jump Then Fall is the ultimate happy song! Oh my... track 9s are hard to separate. Here goes 1. Getaway Car 2. 100% want the re-records before new music! I feel like if she releases a new album, it will either overshadow or be overshadowed by the re-records and I personally want every album to have their moment. I think she's riding some great momentum with the re-records and could use that to eventually build up to releasing TS10 after they're all released as like a grand finale type of thing. Plus vault tracks give us new music anyways, and I'm very content at the moment with the re-records + vault tracks.

Ally, you can release 1300 more videos of Taylor talks and I’d still watch all of them. LOVE THEM 😭💖 I don’t have many swiftie friends so these videos make my day. Also, my top three album covers would be 3. Evermore. I just love her braid so much and the coat. I just loved it since the time I saw it 2. Folklore. Your videos put me in such a good mood 🥺 your vibe is just so positive and chill💖 The non-Taylor songs I’ve been listening to a lot lately have been “Dance the Night Away” by Van Halen, “Augusta” by Gracie Abrams and “Sweet Tooth” by Maya Hawke. As for the album covers, I cannot BELIEVE you dislike the 1989 one. My personal ranking would be: 1989 - folklore - rep - evermore - red - lover - red tv - speak now - fearless tv - fearless - debut I love her country albums but the covers, especially compared to her later ones, seem too studio/magazine/edited photoshoot for my taste. Also, I AGREE with the easter eggs. Mostly because many times the clues fans find seem too convoluted to make sense. Adding dates and song lengths? Too much even for her. She literally wrote “Lover” in big freaking letters in the ME! music video lmao that’s not subtle at all. And finally (sorry for the long comment) she definitely edited ATWTMV. There are original lyrics on the Lover journals that didn’t make it to the final version (I can’t believe she scrapped “There we are again when you blew the candle out, took this blazing love, steered it right into the ground”)

I just thought of this while you read that MySpace post about 1989- 1989 was released in 2014 which is the year Taylor turned 25, the point in which your brain is done developing and you are truly an adult. At this point in your life, you are who you’re going to be and this album signified her sound going forward. 1989 was her adult transition album. I am 3 weeks older than her and maybe being born that time of year breeds similarities, but that’s exactly when I would’ve released such a transitional album and I’m not nearly as calculating as she is.

the red tv cover comment i understood. because when she released the fearless tv cover and i saw it for the first time, my heart stood still, everything felt right, it was perfect and i love it with everything in me. but when she released the red tv cover i was, i hate to say, a little disappointed like i didn't feel anything. over time, i've grown to love it and appreciate it but fearless tv cover will always be my fav between the two

I almost feel like with album covers, we shouldn’t see other photos from that same photo shoot - I want it to stand alone (ie the 1989, rep, Red etc). The fact that she posted multiple photos from that day and moment almost weakens the iconic nature??

Surrender by Maggie Rogers is a brilliant record, definitely one of the best albums this year so far! she's an astonishing songwriter and an astounding singer.... been blasting Want Want, Horses, Shatter and Begging for Rain on repeat. it's really one of those records you can't get enough of

I love the front cover photograph on RED (Taylor’s Version). I think it does have RED vibes. In that photograph she’s sitting in a car and in both All Too Well and All Too Well (10 Minute Version) she sings “We’re singing in the car getting lost upstate”

Oh I always thought the word in Champaign Problems that they wouldn't say is "evergreen." Like they'll always be friends in their core, but they've realized now they're changing and going in separate directions as they age, and they don't feel that invincibility of young adulthood anymore. Though both "friends" and "our" probably makes more sense. :)

Followup I think with "babe" the meaning is intentionally both simultaneously. I feel the same way in "Right Where You Left Me," where the "You Left Me No" in the chorus is both her saying, "You left me. No!" but also the "You left me no choice"
