Here's a general outline for creating a blueprint logic in Unreal Engine to have an AI damage the player:
Create an AI Character Blueprint: Start by creating an AI character blueprint that will be used as the enemy.
Add a Detection Component: Add a detection component such as a sphere or a box component to the AI character blueprint. This component will be used to detect the player.
Set up Detection Event: In the AI character blueprint, set up an event such as "OnComponentBeginOverlap" to detect when the player enters the detection area.
Apply Damage: When the player is detected, apply damage to the player using a function such as "ApplyDamage" with the desired amount of damage.
Add Animation: To make the AI more visually appealing, you can add animations such as a melee attack animation that will play when the player is damaged.
Test the AI: Test the AI by playing the game and verifying that it detects the player and damages the player correctly.

Have you found a solution? I'm trying to do the same thing. It should work the same way as the mechanism shown in the video tho. idk why it doesn't work

i had to set both my player and ai collision to PhysicsActor to get the attacks to hit

Thats because he opens an montage (blue color) and not a animation (green color] asset. Right click on the animation asset, at the top choose Create --> Create AnimMontage.
