I purchased this template as well when the price was lower, even then it wasn't worth it. The big problem with this template is the review system used to verify which user bought the asset, everyone just put 5/5 just to access their discord. The wait for the 5.1 version is still waited by the community and still full of bug, and there is not a lot to use from this, appart some UI stuff... Good video, if you wanna collaborate and test more, I have a LOT of assets that I purchased, including multiple FPS or TPS kits. Cheers mate, thanks for what you are doing.
A lot of the asset reviews are broken (I have even got banned from a few discords for making reviews on some products). Im on discord all the time if you ever wanna link up and chat or game jam =).
I think its too expensive (personal opinion of course). It used to be half the cost of FPS 4.1 template at launch. It is fantastic, it has come a long way but it's still not a premium polished experience for the price point. But it's all in what your trying to make, maybe this checks all the boxes for someone's prototype so it would be worth it for sure.
Good review. Didn't know it was that expensive. I tried Third person shooter kit and I like it but I feel like the animations he spent a ton of money on don't look so great.
Third person shooter kit is beautiful in comparison. I am not sure what amped the price on this up so high, as discussed it used to be $25 cheaper than FPS template 4.1? Im assuming its the animations that raised the price but who knows?
There is someone in our discord making a zombie game (Single Player) with Third Person Shooter Kit , and it looks every bit as good in gameplay as The Day Before did in rendered trailers.
I ended up buying both before this review went up. I couldnt agree with you more. It comes down to quantity vs quality. Save your money and go with the 4.0 template. I found the blueprints in the 3.0 template really complex.They use tables to control character meshes and other things and could be really confusing for someone who just wants to add a character with multiple layers. Because there is so much features on this. You have to navigate a mega blueprint system if you want to add new functions. Because support seems limited at the moment, this could slow down your development. Not saying its a bad template, just needs more time improve on certain things. Still a qualitybasset for those looking to do light customisations. The 4.0 template feels much lighter in terms of blueprint system. Much easier to understand and implement new features.
