I'm coming up on needing this and wasn't sure the right way to go about it so Thanks! Always appreciate your vids but may I say they are getting a little too short... would be nice to see you cover a little more on these topics but I know my opinion doesn't matter much so do as you wish lol

Eventually, a piece of software gets so complex that it requires years to learn the relevant details. Then you have to keep up while the software continues to evolve. I wonder whether we'll ever get to the point where one can ask an AI a question along these lines and it will be able to explain it, or whether studios will just have to hire people with 10 years experience in using some piece of software.

I think we're pretty close to getting to the point where the AI will be able to answer more complex questions like this - It'll probably be a few years, but I do think we'll eventually get to the point where 1 guy can basically "manage" an entire department because the AI will do most of the heavy lifting -

This only spawns particle from the other emitter by using spawn rate. I want to use spawn burst from the other emitter instead, how do I do that?

Make sure the second emitter is using the same simulation as the emitter you are spawning from. So CPU-CPU or GPU-GPU. it wasn't working for me cause my first emitter was gpu and my sub emitter was cpu. aligning them fixed the issue

Is there any way to spawn from another emitter in a burst, rather than over time? I've got an effect where I need a particle to spawn a burst of particles around it after a few seconds, but I can't figure out how to pull it off.

Too bad you can't just drag one particle node onto the other to make it a child of that node... Lot of steps for that one simple thing. 😏

That kind of hierarchy parent/child linking you can do with the Niagara systems as part of a blueprint etc
