@@nmspy nah if it was Jaeger quest it would have to be like: Do it between 22:00 - 8:00 While under tremor With broken arm While having no armor Kill 10 scavs in one run over 40m with pistol while falling down.
All of Jaeger's quest should have the option of just going on a raid, waiting for a while before exfilling, and then going "Yeah man, I totally did that shit. It was crazy."
I bought a golden star balm like the one in Tarkov, and decided to jump off a three story building to test its efficacy. Can confirm my broken legs are not amused.

The organs part got me, ngl. Imagine being a Timmy just picking up Tarkov running through Woods at night and you light some guy with your flashlight just to see him skinning some scav.

@@leviticus1132 The phrase that’s been used a lot by Nikita I believe is “as realistic as playable”. It’s kinda the philosophy they seem to go by. Realistic and punishing to a reasonably playable degree.
My favorite 'realistic' fact in game is that your pmc cant run for more than 10 seconds and is terrible with the guns they should be trained for but can complete a surgery on themselves and only themselves in 10 seconds with a 100% success rate so your character is more like a world record master surgeon than a pmc
Jaeger unhinging his jaw and consuming every deer on woods is both the inspiration for my next metal song as well as the fuel for every nightmare I have from this moment on
Tróckij, mister Latin who yet don't know how to use Latin when copypasting words from other languages. Also since when «Kolâ/Kolja» is «Kolya»? You are a certified anglo-romanophone, just with a not fitting name? A rhetorical question.
Don't forget about the mysterious unidentified scav boss running to every single container stealing all the scope mounts from their respective scopes but leaving the actual scope behind. Kinda new to the game but it really sucks finding a good scope that's missing its mount that I can't even buy a mount for yet.
early in the games history, melee used to be able to oneshot people with no head armor, hatchlings were actually dangerous at close ranges. but chads and streamers complained and that's why melee is the way it is now. thank the streamers like shroud for that one. Hatchlings used to be terrifying within the 5 yard rule (just like real life), but it was removed due to the hate against them. now that we have the damage after death system, we could easily just buff melee back to what it was, hatchlings cant do no-kit raids due to their health being set to zero if they die, and melee wouldn't be so unrealistic as an option for those specific moments you may need them.
You still can one hit people in the head with melee weapons. You just need a few strenght levels. And there are still melee weapons that can one hit people in the head with level 1 strength.
I think with the new cultists, the 5 yard rule gets scarier. I play a few games where someone sneaking up with a knife is one of the most horrifying things ever, a shotgun? pfft they're usually terrible shot players, an lmg? dance around them, but a melee player who can dash or execute you? no thanks they'll dodge my dodge
Nowadays an UMP is the scourge of the game instead of a rifle caliber because games refuse to throw "game balance" out the window in exchange for realism. Tarkov should straight up be a game of "use what you find" instead of "get to level 15 and just buy the best gear off the flea market. The game should be a CONSTANT struggle because thats what the idea behind Tarkov IS. A constant struggle for survival. But instead its Cawwadooty but "harder". You should have to unlock all the traders except Fence. Fence should be the only trader from the start and your only way of getting gear through a market until you unlock the other traders would be to sift through the fence store and make a build with what you can.
@@davidray2682 The UMP kinda sucks after the first few days of the wipe when people start getting level 4 armor. Then it becomes decent again once you get access to the AP ammo. But it still sucks against level 5 armor and the bullets are very slow and it has terrible horizontal recoil, so it's only good against budget players in cqc. The UMP is way overrated imo.
Tbh with Jager I can understand how he knows every move of yours, every time you spawn into a raid in the down left corner u can see your name, in-game time, and date, so I think the stuff we're seeing is a bodycam video
That’s because there’s no internet in Tarkov so we’ve yet to upload out footage onto the internet for some 14 year old to steal and put up on a shock website
Instead of having weapon durability burn so fast, maybe they could have a "cleanliness" stat. It could basically operate the exact same as durability with the same burn rate but feel more realistic
Not quite. Weapon repair serves as "money sink" so it would require introducing weapon clean kits, specific for weapon type (handgun, rifle, shotgun) or maybe even 2 for a weapon type (approx 9mm and bigger for pistol, approx 5-ish mm and approx 7-ish mm for assault rifles) Or maybe you're right? We either pay Mechanic/Prapor for cleaning and repair or use either generic or specific cleaning kit.
@@PobortzaPl The repair costs are pretty trivial to be honest. The intent seems to just make jams more common, in which case cleaning would work well. Would make more sense to have a universal weapon kit with varying qualities. Cheapest being craftable with toilet paper and water, but doesn't clean to 100%.
Everytime Jaeger gives me stuff to do I feel that he is trying to get me killed in the process. Like fighting people with a broken arm or sth. Maybe it is his way to get rid of both PMCs and scavs, then he can live a life as a lone monkey in the forest.
pretty sure it’s in the lore that Jaegar hates PMCs invading his land and initially wants us to die through his quests (dehydration, kill someone with tremor, etc). That’s why he was surprised when we came back after the first few sadistic quests. He starts liking us after preserving through and once we got his trust, that’s when he tell us about his past and even help him find his old friend and his photo album.
about the helmet argument, last I knew Nikita wants the game to be "as realistic as playable" meaning the realism shouldn't interfere with gameplay to the point of making Tarkov unplayable (or close.) If helmets were as strong in game as they were irl, there just simply wouldn't be a reason to run them. Therefore I think BSG made the helmets in-game one GOST armor level higher than their irl counterparts to incentivise their use.
@@jesseroberts1041 Even when people git gud it wouldn't make helmets more useful if they didn't stop anything. Meaning they wouldn't have a purpose in the game. You don't really worry about the stuff that helmets are supposed to protect you from irl ingame.
@@jesseroberts1041 there are many factors apart from "skill issue" that can make any game unplayable. What if your PMC had to shit or piss in-raid to avoid dying of dysentery or some bullshit? what if getting your leg(s) blacked out made it so your PMC had to crawl for the rest of the raid? would you enjoy the game at that point, or would you stop playing because the realism interferes with gameplay? Summing everything up to "skill issue" only shows how ignorant you are
14:50 "Why can't you sell organs" Well you see if you have to drag all those dead bodies all the way to therapist, by the time you get there those organs are well over their expiration date, organ transplants need to be done very quickly, or the organs need to be stored in the proper containers and cooled. Depending on the organs it depends on how much time can be between the death of the host individual and the transplantation into a new host.
1:55 gun oil or lubricants should be a thing that will fix it or make it fire fine for a raid and you should be able to use it in raid like wd40 and motor oil with less quality working half as long
Absolutely bro, the ability to use lube on the guns. When I was newer to the game I picked up one of those FireKlean bottles and got hyped that I might be able to use it. So I can see this being great.
A couple years late, but from using gun and motor oil on guns in real life, I can tell you... Motor oil works better, and is absurdly economical. Gun oils are a scam.
Golden Star's vapour has a really strong mint-like scent which just blows up your nose nerves and makes you cry and can straight forward burn the hell out of your olfactory nerves if put intronasal so yeah, the thing is nuclear, I guess the idea with concussion is to simulate watery eyes. Norka vaseline is a joke too, since vaseline is a lubricant and "norka" can either be translated as "mink" (since it has mink oil in it's compound) or "burrow", so that's a butt joke. Got your bum lubed and it's not so painful.
Another thing about food is a PMC could go from completely full to dead from starvation within 30 minutes. Edit: even if you account for the rapid progression of In-game time, it's only a few hours.
Considering what our pmc's eat its not surprising they run out of energy in couple of hours What would the alternative be anyways once you run out of energy you start getting weak and can't keep going so you have to wait for raid timer to run out?
@@woksolid6885 even after a few hours im not gonna die of starvation it would take days for me to start dying also in raid i can go from 100 to 0 in 30 min it makes no sense

@@ceazv to be fair, they don't call it starvation but exhaustion. Maybe without food you get tired and pass out and (probably) can't get up and die to some scav, which is why it's so fast. It's weird.
@BloodyPFX I’ll second this, there’s a reason they include snacks in any military ration, if you’re out in the sun, on patrol, you’re probably already not eating enough due to operational constraints, add in not having western supply lines due to being a pmc and it isn’t that unrealistic
14:34 for me the best craft is that You can disassemble one VPO-209 and get two weapon parts, which can be used to make two AK rifles. Also it seems that character can assemble AK from any weapons parts. Also about organs part... Well if You want to "harvest" healthy organs or blood the "donor" should be still alive, so devs should add some kind of tasers, anesthetic, etc. then use surgical tools or something like that.
With weapon durability they just need to add the weapon maintenance skill. I remember them talking about repairing your own guns with it at first being worse than paying parpor or mechanic but become better than both. Also that skill would also help with durability burn making guns last longer.
Yeah, I’m already @ weapon maintenance lvl 5 and I’m seeing a difference in weapon durability when I’m repairing after 3 or 4 raids. And besides. Repairing scale weapons or weapons you get on your scav on a scav run boosts that skill so fast. Also repairing disassembled weapons helps as well.
Imo just make traders sell guns with quality that falls in a random range. Make it tunable per trader item so the newer guns sold by them are typically in really good condition while all the cold war and second-hand shit is low durability. Maybe FIR stuff is more likely to be more durable, making FIR versions of guns more valuable than the trader weapons. Now you can have durability matter without needing it to drain at ridiculous rates.
@@dish431 yes they did but they need to make it stronger or level faster. I am around lvl 7 on mine because I fix every scav gun I get before selling them.
Jaeger: One of the top hunters/trackers of the region. Also Jaeger: "Go find me some food, boy." And yes, I agree with the helmet argument, probably the most. I disagree with the Scav thing. I think they should have random skill levels, because realistically, person to person, everyone will be different skill wise with firearms irl.
If you want to learn more about helmets, watch Oxide. He's shot everything that has an analogue in tarkov and a fair for of the actual popular helmets in the game too.
The one thing that BSG didn't add up is wildlife and animals Atleast let me kept or even bought some Cat's/Dog's for my shelter Hell let me even get some Floppa or wildlife animals that Russian kept as Pets on the Market to be bought lol
Lack of bigger animals is kinda realistic, depending how long the region was in state of practically war before EFT time. I, however, am glad that they didn't make smaller animals more realistic. Just thing - Factory should be swarming with rats feeding from all this bodies. Same thing for Woods and birds - you have dropped someone and in less they minute crows are all over them.
The thing about tarkov is that everybody including the scavs act like they're hopped up on PCP / Angel Dust and are immune to the sort of damage that would normally put a person on his ass. It just feels like everybody is more machine than human.
Literally. Even CSGO which doesn't give a damn about realism emulates aim punch. If you get hit by even one bullet, your movement speed is dropped significantly for a portion of time, making it very easy for the enemy player to finish you off. In Tarkov, I'm spraying at Scavs as they're sprinting around like ants, shrugging off bullets like nothing.

you are right about the fact that they shouldn't wear out so quickly. during my conscript service, I was given a 1973 rk-62 assault rifle on the second or third day. and you can imagine how much it has been shot or thrown on the ground in practice. the gun hit the target at 200 meters if the sight was well adjusted.
in regards to organ leggin, to borrow a shadowrun term, one of the things about orgas (don't give me that look we've all been curious) is that organs don't really last long. unless properly frozen and stored they will essentialy rot. and since most organ containers are relativley cumbersome and large it really wouldn't be in either the PMC or scav's best interest. im also fairly certain there's a limited window between ToD and where the organ is still useable
Nope this guy wants you to carry around three coolers with livers (and ice adds to the total weight because fuck you) and pick up each shell casing you fire so you can craft more, I'm not sure if this is a video game or warcrime sim at this point but I'm interested to play it.
Melee weapons actually used to do a lot more damage but it got changed ages ago because desync was bad enough that you could just matrix around bullets and hatchet someone
Every time I try and explain Tarkov to a casual gamer, I can never fully say what it is. I just say it’s one of the worst games I’ve ever played, I just can’t stop playing.
honestly, the games horrible. i love challenging my mental stability with some random scav with a toz headshotting me from 1000m away with elite-level accuracy, blindfolded and with his hands tied behind his back.
Durability mechanic and Kalashnikov Group's tests is actually a hint to a good explanation to the whole thing. Their "expert" guy did a video with AKSU-74 and showed how it jammed dead after 4 magazines of magdumping. Moreover if you see first videos from beta-test of the patch with the feature you'll recognize that the first weapons to showcase them were new ones - AKSU-74 first and foremost. I assume the issue is that both AKSU and AK-74 and the family are technically the same platform and seen as the same platform by the game and to re-program them as separate platforms with the level of modification ability as of right now is impossible. More like highly improbable since it'll take months of weapon modification simply not working in game, which being one of the main features of the game, can not be disabled.
So as far as organs go, I'm with not being able to "harvest" or sell them. The process of harvesting organs is super fragile lol. Sure if you get a nearly/VERY recently deceased body to an OR in a hurry, its a possibility, but in such a resource-limited envoronment, it would be inordinately difficult to find a surgeon and then harvest, trasport, and transplant them. I would love to see a more robust medical system though. Guerilla medicine is an extremely interesting topic, and EFT seems like the perfect video game venue to dive into that. I do think that transporting an organ could be an interesting quest, thoguh. Carrying a heavy cooler or even one of the newer transmedics/sherpa systems could be cool.
Okay I unironically really like the organ harvesting idea because I think it'd tie in really well with the incapacitated mechanics they seem to want to do. You could totally fireman carry a scav on your back MGSV body moving style and bring him to the extract in the same way you should probably be able to do so for your incapacitated buddy. And for extra shits and giggles, your buddy could be a source of organs.
If thats the same ak 103 testing then that was the second test. In the first they ran out of ammo and in the second test the bolt became sticky because they didnt get the cosmoline off the ammunition before starting. If anyone doesnt know cosmoline is a very sticky and can be airtight after it dries and it's used for long term storage of metal objects usually gears and other machinery parts, but weapon parts and ammunition are just fine too. But anyway if its the same test thats the only reason the gun failed. The ak 103 is one of the most durable weapons of its time.
Something that really needs to be changed is the amount of weapon sway when your walking. As a military trained contractor the fact that we can't hold a gun straight is super unrealistic.
It's ridiculous too. Realistic helmets would just allow underequipped players to have a chance. Can't go to factory to bully noobs and scavs when your 1m kit might be ruined by some buckshot. The argument of "Oh but why use them otherwise." is equally as ridiculous... If the price was lowered, and helmet quality had higher ricochet chance and reduced nade damage then they'd still be used. Just make the focus on ricochet's (which is more realistic). Drastically buff their chance of happening, but make even lvl5 helmets only block basic 9mm and basic buck.
Painkillers should be used to extract or get to cover, they should not be used before fights, they should fuck up your vision and your ability to aim so bad that can't be used for combat. Of course for what I said to work, the stamina system needs a complete overall, getting hit should not consume your entire stamina bar

Jokes aside, I do really wish they would buff melee, I always get sad when I open the chat menu and see the "knives only" command... would be so cool to do a stealth takedown on Rashalla's guards before you take him down, or coming across a greedy PMC too focused on looting to notice you are just feet away from him lurking in darkness.
7:27 Oh, man, the Golden Star is nuclear, the ingame effect is pretty moderate, i would say. By the way, there are menthol, camphor, mint oil and some other odorous stuff in it. Skin irritation is included
Heres my 2 cents as an fix for the painkiller stuff: Every bullet wound (or every other, maybe have a random chance element based off of a stat like Health) that has not been healed will cause pain that can only be dealt with after it has been healed up and then you can use some sort of painkillers, lkke applying vaseline to a wound. Some painkillers like morphine can be used before a fight but will only help up to a point
Maybe they could just fix prone movement to allow you to move up stairs and over small obstacles, then just force you prone if your legs are blown off.
@@CFJ.R While adrenaline does indeed inhibit your ability to perceive pain, it absolutely does not fix shattered bones, missing limbs, sucking chest wounds, or amputations. The guys who did suffer amputations also had reduced pain response. They were not walking, though.
3 thoughts. 1. Are they gonna work on helmets reducing/deflecting larger rounds based on distance so maybe survive some sniper ambushes but you're screwed up close? 2. Hopefully the armor system gets some polish with coverage & plate/material replacement 3. Couldn't they make the majority of "weapon durability" the barrel, so that way you could just easily replace it on most guns?
3.; that would make the most sense, the firing group doesnt get damaged from firing. the barrel does from heat distortion and rifling deterioration. i think their intention though is that you just have to buy new guns eventually, which kind of doesnt make sense in the setting of the game but.. they need a way to have a money sink. idk how many raids people last with one gun, but i dont think its ever enough to induce malfunctions )
A thing I think k would fit number 3 is a sorta weapon system like stalker gamma but better? Sorta like the trigger only taking damage from drops and bullets hitting the gun barrel bolt etc take damage from firing and eventually something like the lower receiver bursts open and tou have to but a new one
One time I dumped 30 rounds of BP into a scavs chest armor and he just stood there and looked at me. You'd be winded after just a few shots, let alone 30.
This video slowly went from ‘yeah that makes sense’ to getting progressively more stupid and funny, love the organ transplant suggestion tho that would certainly make more people wanna play tarkov🤣
I will give some credit to the headshot one on scavs, a guy has survived a point blank 12 gauge buckshot through his mouth irl so surviving 5.45 isnt too unrealistic
I have used something like golden star back in China. Since it has stuff like peppermit and a bunch other herbs. It will irritate your eyes by quite a lot, so I think the way EFT portrays it when applied to the PMC's face is ok
Personally I think the organ transplant wouldn’t work because therapist doesn’t have the proper tools and sanitary items to give a dying civilian or pmc a whole new heart etc. if you were joking about it disregard this comment.
Now tell me Skier or Peacekeeper wouldn't blackmarket the fuck out of that shit. They'd have to make an event where you need to kill the chinese assassins sent after them for trying to muscle in on that market, to make it realistic, though...
I own several of the weapons and items in tarkov. And I can tell you for a fact the tarkov team of "realism" mostly base their findings on what an item is based on by its internet rumor reputation. Like not only are helmets very unrealistic but now also the recoil is in fantasy land to. I understand the devs will fall behind the "fun or game balance" tropes every game developer uses as justification for poor choices. Really tarkov development needs to be above the standard measure of other games. Not only for the premium price of entry but also so we all truly can have that realism shooter we crave. I rather they give us the more realistic behavior of items in the game than fantasy. The tarkov community is big enough now. The devs should ask or poll the community to send in feedback information or videos about characteristics of a weapon or armor to be sure they have the correct information. I dont live in Russia, as an American much of what is in the game we can purchase here in some fashion. So there is a good chance someone somewhere has made a youtube video about an item in game for the devs to reference without falling back onto internet lore that is ruining the game, as are shown in several points in this video.
On the other hand having RL M4s and 5.45 AKs would suck in multiplayer game with short time to kill. The recoil on these two platforms is ridiculously low, you can absolutely laser beam with stock guns if you train a bit. And then there are rogues who beam you at 250m where on the game you can barely even spot people without optics/binos (IRL you can spot people at that distance and probably even hit them if you are a well trained soldier but in the game it's nearly impossible).
@@VanBourner The short time to kill argument is very lazy imo, tarkov has a stupid long time to kill things considered and there are plenty of games with a shorter time to kill that manage to make it fun and competitive
@@codemy666 my argument is that it would result in gameplay that is just not fun given the ttk. Nobody wants laser beam guns in games, it's why AS VAL and M4 and Vector have been nerfed so hard in past.
How about getting oneshotted in the ankle? How does healing work? Grenade blast getting blocked by a cardboard? Having mechanical sights with no parallax? Dead bodies blocking any bullet completely? Backpack stacking?
the golden star could cause you to have eye pains due to the strong mint-like smell, and that it is actually painful to put on your face, so BSG just used a concussion effect as the visual effect of the pain in your face and eyes. (but, yes, Vaseline and Golden Star do not work as painkillers in real life)
Helmets really are too strong. I too watched the Garand Thumb video on the Altyn, and it preformed basically equal to an Ops Core helmet. The only real difference was the way the helmets treated the rounds. Where kevlar helmet catch the bullets, the titanium Altyn deflects. But otherwise, they were about the same. They didn't really stop rifle rounds.
The garand guy didn't use a proper altyn, it was a cheaper titanium model, but altyn isn't supposed to stop rifle bullets Anyway, it's classified against ap pistol ammo only
I also think armor is the same deal as with helmets. Magdumping someone in the legs because they are wearing armor is just not a thing that would be viable irl.
There should be a dirtiness stat and the dirtier the gun is the more damage it takes as you fire it. If it's clean it basically does no damage. Alongside heat mechanics that'd be pretty realisticalismic and sweet.
@@mannyR8 oh no, he did it boys he caught me. He realized that I wasn’t using intense hyperbole of common complaints to create a piece with the goal of entertainment. My ruse was defused and now I’m confused.

In the last part about the UN, they don’t get into the conflict because that is not what the UN was made for, it was made to try and peacekeeper, to not start war.
I don't understand why, as a PMC being put into a warzone with no outside aid possible, I can't do a field strip on my guns to at least reduce the wear on it's durability.
I'm gonna be honest, a lot of these problems would just make the game even more painful to play. Yes it touts realism, but a truly realistic game would be absolutely no fun. Imagine finally getting that big break and having juice in your bag, then you get shot a couple time and get away. You then found out you just lost 200k worth of loot. I would quit if the game was like that. I think the durability if guns and spray are not accurate and actually just make the game worse, those should for sure be fixed.
tarkov just has an identity crisis. It wants to be slow-paced but not so slow-paced. It wants to be realistic but not boring. And when it comes to scavs, I just assume they are as powerful as they are because they're superhuman russians who escaped from the labs map and have now taken over the city of Tarkov.
-organ transplants are brought up -mind immediately goes to rimworld territory -I’ve been ruined as a human being for thinking organ harvesting is a normal thing
The thing with things like weapon durability and food and water consumption is that we are playing at an accelerated time scale. A 40 minute raid for us is actually a multiple hours long raid for our PMC's. It has to be like that. Otherwise the whole food and water thing goes out the window amongst other things. Same with durability, it's accelerated because it has to be. Otherwise those elements would just never really come into play. You'd lose the gun before it ever gave you a problem or just get bored with it and move onto a different gun.
Regarding the issue of selling organs, you need a live Scavengers or a live PMC, because most of the body’s organs need to or do there work with out stoping to be Useful or have oxygen-carrying blood, plus their cells will die in less than 8 hours. Every kidney that can withstand 6 to 7 hours and be usable (with out blood), but if the heart stops for working for , 100 to 150 second with cpr turn into useless muscle, in addition to the difference in blood-types and tissue types, but they can be a meal for the scavenges and canned Mike soup. Tasty But the capshrd scavs or pmc can be slave's sorry unvolentre workers I think that the value of the worker will be more than he's organs, meaning in order to get the organs you need you will have to buy the worker. So good point but it has a lot of problems

Of course, that's not paired with ringing ears. Also: it actually smells delicious, like cinnamon and mint
