Great video. I really enjoyed it! I can confirm that dogs, in general, are more aggressive than wolves. Wolves are not aggressive to humans. They are extremely shy and gentle. They are only aggressive to other rival packs and of course their prey. But I do believe that dog aggression often stems from the fact that they are animals with animal instincts yet we force them to live in a human society and live by our rules and standards which are completely unnatural for them and causes a lot of misunderstandings They are kind of in this weird space of not being a wild animal but also not being a human yet a lot of people try to treat them like human children and get mad at dogs for just being dogs. It's really crazy if you think about it.

There is no other animal that has to face such complex, fluid, and diverse social dynamics in their immediate environment as dogs do. It's fascinating how much they have to adapt.

But of course wolves will often attack and kill dogs in their territory. I'm just saying this because some people living in wolf country don't seem to be aware of this this based on the news reports you can read via a search engine.

About knowing less as we get older. My grandfather had a saying at his bar. It read: All things I knew, but now confess, the more I know I konw, I know less.

I appreciate the video. 20:30, 20:45....21:14...reactive ...and proactive 25:05... Something fear motivated could later become reward motivated...

I was reading "why do animals fight" by Wallace Craig in the international journal of ethics. April 1921. (Sorry I was unable to include the link from jstor). He wrote "Animals and men fight because they must conserve their interests, and their technique for the adjustment of conflicting interest is to imperfect to adjust all cases of conflict. I mentioned this because I'm wanting to know the evidence that supports that pit bulls do not "enjoy" or "want" to fight in any fight including especially professional dogfights. I was hoping Dr Sapolsky PhD. might be able to answer this. Unfortunately I don't think this is in his field, even though he studied baboons for 30 years. My opinion is that pit bulls fight in the interest of pack drive, which is to please the leader (in this case the owner). I'm specifically referring to pitbulls "trained" to fight other pitbulls. I think Wallace Craig said enough to show that it is myth "that pit bulls enjoy fighting, or want to fight". I appreciate in advance your feedback on this question.

Have you guys seen the show on Muster Dogs - where they take a whole litter of kelpies from working lines, place them with their new owners, then follow each pup. Hope that helps.

I think there is no difference between fear based aggression and hunting aggression (prey).Prey aggression also evolves fear. That’s fear of prey (food) loss that fear is crucial for survival

Interesting conversation but please next time drop out the background music. It really distacts from the conversation.

Interesting interview, but I had to quit halfway through because of the music. It was awful and unnecessary. Listening to you to speak was riveting enough.
