It was just one of thousands of new videos that are posted every day... but this one was different. Quickly, the story shifted into high gear and exploded as most viral videos do. It swept across the globe - 50,000… 300,000 … 1,000,000+ views - and overnight, Adam and Jared were social media stars.
This Valentine’s Day 2019 marks the 3 year anniversary of this now famous Flash Mob Wedding Proposal between spin instructors Adam Keller (now Marinelli) and Jared Marinelli and to celebrate, Adam & Jared sat down for the very first time to share the true, behind the scenes, emotional stories of exactly what took place before, during, and after this flash mob classic.
This OnlyGood TV video that was seen by over 8 million people from all over the world, brought Adam & Jared into the spotlight and led to the start of a video series called “A JOY STORY - The Countdown to the Wedding of the Year!" For the next 18 months and 12 episodes after the flash mob proposal, OGTV followed Adam and Jared as they planned their wedding. In September 2017, they exchanged vows in a magical event that became the season finale of the Joy Story Series.
At the very beginning, on one of their first dates, it was actually Adam that brought up the idea of how an artistically choreographed surprise proposal would be so romantic. “I think I originally told you that I wanted you to do the flash mob for me,” he joked to Jared, “but then I quickly realized I could never let go of my control issues and let that happen.”
True to his word, Adam took the lead, and with the help of his good friends and fellow JoyRide instructors, Cindy and Anne, and others from the Fairfield County, CT Cycling + Fitness Studio chain, the wheels were set in motion for his fairy tale moment.
Adam schemed, planned, and nurtured his dream for months, rallying co-workers, family, and friends, while Jared stayed blissfully unaware. The stage was set that fateful day as Jared took his seat on the lead bike, expecting to run a class for fellow instructors that was being filmed for a local commercial - or so he was told. Despite the anticipation and anxiety, the rest unfolded just as Adam planned. His emotional, on bended-knee, ring in hand proposal is a moment they will cherish forever and now, 3 years later, finally share the tears and joy of this amazing moment in this all-new video.
They are now happily settled into married life, but Jared is constantly thinking about his own flash mob ideas to get back at Adam. But for now, he’s got a little special something for Valentine’s Day! Watch until the end of the video to see the surprise!
