Unused abilities from Sonic 1, 2, 3 and Knuckles (Comprehensive)

The Air Dash move from Sonic 3, wasn’t completely scrapped, but reused for Hyper Sonic

Sonic's airdash in a sonic 3 prototype has been reused for hyper sonic though, as well mecha sonic having a somzwhat similar 1 in his base form when you fight him & Mecha sonic also has a ring throw move in his super form right before he goes back down to his base form, which seems inspired by that scrapped move Oh & mecha sonic in his base form phase has something similar to the dropdash

the rabbit being named “feels” comes from ristar originally being called “feel”. the closest the rabbit design has to a name is max according to oshima

that turtle in Sonic 2 looks like a Koopa Troopa from Mario 💀

The directional air dash ended up being used by Hyper Sonic, and the tornado move is used by Espio in Knuckles Chaotix. (and subsequently, Blaze on Sonic Rush)

You can catch a few frames of Sonic sneezing in the Sonic CD cartoon opening, after he looks up at the chained Little Planet. I always wondered if the sprites were intended to happen if you made Sonic look up too long, sort of like how his waiting animation happens if you leave him still too long.

Fun fact. Back in 2015 I had started a Sonic 1 minihack that actually had the pick up and carry mechanic (partially) coded in and working. Never did finish, though I THINK I still have my code for it somewhere.

3:34 i think Boomer the turtle was only taken out because it resembled A Koopa Troopa from Super Mario Bros.

Hello. I would like to ask about a thing you said that isn't particularly in your sources. In this video you call Rabbit "Felix “Feel” the Rabbit - as he has come to be known by the Sonic community - ". I have seen him be called Feel or Feels many times, but I would like to ask about the name "Felix" as it is presented as a more credible name by the way it is written and by it's repetition thoughout the segment. Has the name "Felix" ever been used officially is some regards or is this another fan name that I just haven't heard before? I have seen screenshots of a alleged quote from Naoto Ohshima where he says Rabbit was originally intended to be named Max. As the screenshot was from a supposed DM that I can't prove the reality of I wish not to use that as a source for a name, which is why I've used "Rabbit" as his name in this comment as thats the name presented in SuperStars. Thank you for your time and I really enjoyed the video!
