Kaze just imported the Luigi model (already assembled by CuckyDev and DevWizard if I'm not mistaken) into his own hack. This isn't the unused split-screen mode or something.
SM64 PC port. Rumoured(Edit:Now real) Switch SM64 port Wario Apiration. Every Copy is personalized. Beta levels coming back And now this... 2020 is the Year of SM64
just_eh_cupcake probably just because of modding. It sounds stupid, but it’s Nintendo so any reason that could relatively be connected could possibly be true.
@@Danewd98sChannelgaming On this one I agree with Nintendo.. because it's still a stolen project. It's not from the modder, but from Nintendo themself. how would you feel if someone would use your creation in their own. You would be furious. But as a fan.. I love this :P
Glitchy88 *In case you didn’t know,* the Mario 64 source code on GitHub is just a recreation of the source code and has nothing to do with the leak. Also I put In case you didn’t know in bold because maybe you do already know that
@@joechristo2 I brought it up because the title says official luigi model, which came from the leak, using a model from the leak is the same thing as using source code. Now, if he recreated the model itself from the leak then whatever but that still doesn't excuse having a patreon and making money off of these projects. That's another thing that nintendo has gone after kaze for before.
Honestly, now that we have this, someone should take the Luigi model and adjust it a bit to make it match Mario's final model. You can see from the spiky hair on the back of Luigi's head that his model is still based on the beta, since Mario also had that same spiky hair before nintendo adjusted it for the final release. That and we need a hatless Luigi too
But i do feel like the model doesn’t have much changes left for it. Besides the dark parts and the hair that looks like shifting sand lands pyramids, he is already good to go!
Kaze: Can’t release the ROM with the official model People about to replace the custom model that Kaze made in the other split screen hack: *I can fix that*
L is now truly real guys Just to note: Cucky gave me the model pre-ready to use with decomp so all i did was to compile a "new version" of the splitscreen. I wish i could release it but then i think i would get into problems...
If you watched the video you would know that he's never going to release it. The model is leaked content, therefore he can't release it without getting in trouble with Nintendo
Could you put instructions on how to patch in the model manually into the multiplayer mod ourselves? I have the separate Luigi patch and this seems super cool
When Swanky Box uploaded his video about this, I wrote an comment, that Kaze should make a Super Mario 64 Splitscreen Multiplayer: Lis real 2401 Edition... Well, now it's real.
I can't wait for SMSS. Super mario sunshine have like one of the most cutted countent ever. Its even suposed to have a train station for most of the map and stuff. owo
Why do people want to fuck with this model? This is Luigi’s official SM64 model. I say keep it as it is. I waited 24 years to finally see it. I don’t want people tampering with it
I really hope the full beta game gets remade with the multiplayer patch, that would be amazing! Although, I would prefer the better sound quality on Mario and Luigi tho
Kaze is a master of meme hacks so we can all expect the Wario Apparition minigame mode for this multiplayer hack-- sort of like Green Demon but once you're eaten you control Wario
Hey Kaze, will you make a mod where you can actually unlock Luigi in Super Mario 64? Like, you start playing as Mario and if you do something specific it shows a message like ''Congratulations, you unlocked Luigi, you can play as him now!'' and there's like a button/place where you can switch between Mario and Luigi, just a nice idea! :D
@@elweondelasweas836 No, I think it's a good idea, I think an option to switch character on the Menu would be more fitting in my opinion though, that way you can't just swap them out in gameplay, not a bad concept in theory but in a Mario game it would feel strange, at least to me anyway
He could totally do a tutorial I bet and be in the right, but Nintendo probably would still come down on him just because they can afford to and he can't.
yeah the only major thing that we get out of the official source code leak compared to the reverse engineered source code is the beta stuff that was removed from the cart. I wonder what everything in the leak is though since it looks very interesting.
I am actually sadden that you can't release it because it does make me fear that certain people will get new beta content from Mario but never release it. I think I understand why you won't but just hoping it doesn't end up in a situation where someone for example actually found the spaceworld demo but only keeps the information to themselves.
Even though it's illegal to leak company secrets. I'm happy this happened, and no one is using this leak in a malicious way. Maybe Nintendo should stop using their nso servers to hold secret data docs because they're not that good
Leak these files all day, baby! I wouldn't have a problem seeing other game companies having old data like this leaked. Does nothing to hurt them, and makes everyone happy
We finally have Luigi's raw model that was cut from SM64... now it just needs to be refined so it can do all the extra stuff Mario can do, like having cap effects, blinking, giving out the victory sign with a star, that sort of thing.
Actually, nintnedo said they cut out multiplayer because the N64 was sold with only one controller, so if players wanted to play multiplayer they’d have to go get another controlled, and they said Yoshi was going to be playable with flutter jumps, high jumps and egg throwing but he was cut out from the beta for whatever reason..
I don't remember where I heard it from but I'm pretty sure Yoshi was cut due to quality control reasons, apparently he didn't control very well and wasn't fun to play as so they cut him out but they didn't want the model to go to waste so they stuck him on the Castle roof as an easter egg, I don't know why they didn't just add Luigi as an easter egg or maybe a second playable character when you complete the game but hey, I didn't make the game
I know we all say this proves Luigi was in the game at some point. Split screen multiplayer was cut early in development - however Luigi remained until the late stages - Miyamoto said Luigi was cut in February 1996 due to memory restrictions (ie 8MB Cart) which was 3 months before Super Mario 64 went gold. I'd say Luigi was likely in the game as he was in Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 - an optional extra, but simply the room wasn't going to be there to keep him in.
That's not that long before release though, unless you meant 1995, which would make more sense, sense Luigi's hair looks like the Beta Mario model, which indicates that either they chose not to update his model for whatever reason, or that Mario's hair was changed very late into development
If CuckyDev sent out a patch file to play as Luigi by himself, what's the major issue of you releasing a patch of the splitscreen multiplayer and original Luigi model? You still have to acquire the SM64 ROM itself, but the legality of Luigi's model or the prototype multiplayer code doesn't seem to stand if it was scrapped entirely.
I think it's still under Nintendo's IP and Copyright grounds due to the fact that the source code belongs to them, although I do wish for a patch release or at least an instruction video on how to put Beta Luigi in the Multiplayer SS Mod.
The difference is that cuckydev is not nearly as much in the puböic eye as i am. He can get away with doinh something in the grey area. Nintendo could kill me for doing that.
Also, it seems like this is where Sakurai had the idea of using Mario's voice with a higher pitch for Luigi instead of an original voice work. You know, Mario Kart 64 had Luigi's voice as it sounds today but Super Mario 64 seems to have been the first possible game where the devs had the idea of copying Mario's voice for him.
Luigi was never a rumour. He was just scrapped. Now, he has been properly reinserted into the game. But let's remember that during development, EAD had planned and built a version of SM64 with multiplayer featuring Luigi as Player 2. But given the hardware difficulties, it was ultimately scrapped and Luigi's model cut from the game.
the hair is different, luigi is slimmer and the face is slimmer too but luigi is only _slightly_ taller than mario, so for the most part this comparison could work, but the hair is completely differently modeled
