The original japanese movie is so nice than English one. It portrays more things and relationship between hachi and his master. It has depicted all day to day activities of both of them :) both movies are awesome though

steven franklin I told my children the same, is better if our pets see us for the last time, they are smart and will understand, I don't want my dog suffer waiting for me. I saw the movie with my 2 children and we cried a lot. a beautiful story, but my heart broke thinking the pain this dog had, waiting for 9 years. his pain must be horrible day by day. really sad.

I agree with you Sir Steven. Hachi should have been allowed to view the remains of his master for him to not wait anymore for his master since there will be closure, once and for all. . . . I really pitied Hachi. . . . .

Hachiko may have gone on! An animal dies, but the carbon will not. It will return to the soil, & there a plant may take it up sending it once more on a cycle of plant & animal life.

I believe in God and I think that hatchi thriving in heaven with his owner. I do respect you're decision to be an atheist.

The newer movie (2005) with Richard Gere has an ending almost like that. It makes you cry, a whole lot. If there is a Heaven, I hope to meet Hachiko there, I want to give him a huge hug.
