This amplifier was built in 1977, and has been basically unplayed, and definitely ungigged since it was first bought. Many of these amplifiers were altered since thier initial production as thier owners sought to replicate the Twin Reverb of 1969. This is one specimen known with no altercations, and is in mint condition. I hope you view, and enjoy the full feature on this amplifier.
This video is about: (1978 Fender Twin Reverb Silverface, Fender, Fender Twin, Fender Twin Reverb, Silverface, Amplifier, Amplifiers, Vintage Amplifier, fender twin reverb, fender, silverface, silverface twin reverb, fender twin reverb silverface master volume schematic, fender twin reverb silverface master volumne, 1978 fender twin reverb, fender twin reverb silverface vs blackface, Fender Twin Reverb Silverface, fender twin amp, fender twin reverb demo)

I decided to repost to get rid of the green glitch stuff, and made other improvements. Enjoy!

I have one of these. When I picked it up, it was in sorry shape. Had been heavily and badly modified. I spent 3 months returning it to factory spec. An amazing amplifier.

I found one of these abandoned by the curb. I drove by but turned around and the homeowner came out and helped me load it in my car. His home had been used as a halfway house, and a previous tenant had left it behind years back. It had been left behind his house for months as it was dusty and dotted with bird droppings. I got it home , cleaned it up and got it playing for me.

i have the same amp in perfect unaltered condition including original tubes and speakers and owners manual. fender usa drip logo on front. so loud you could play woodstock without the PA System. i have the footswitch pedal and it has 2 plugs to go into the vibrato and reverb jacks, it just engages 1 or the other or both

The speed and Intensity controls are for the vibrato, they won’t work with out the foot pedal hooked up and turned on though

I have an original 1977 135 watt model (Ultra Linear) and it came with a dummy plug inserted in the vibrato pedal jack to use the vibrato without the pedal. With the plug inserted the vibrato is always on, you just turn the intensity knob to zero to "shut it off".

I have one of these which I’ve had for 25 years (bought second hand) and only used at home. Lovely amp but buzzes quite a lot now. It’s labled as a “Pro Reverb” though. What’s the difference to the “Twin” on your video?

A Pro Reverb from the same era is a lower powered version of the Twin. My 77 Twin runs at 100 watts while a Pro Reverb is about half that amount. The Twin has four 6L6 power tubes, the Pro has only two. The Pros are also a bit lighter. More buzzing might mean you need new tubes and/or filter capacitors. An amp tech would be able to determine the cause.

Better get that pro reverb to a tech. At their age they need new electrolytic filter cap and maybe more. As the old caps dry out and then eventually spu there guts like an old battery…
