Thank you for reacting to this and realizing what a masterpiece it is. I've never felt the pain he speaks of, but he paints such a vivid picture that I can imagine it. I pray for this man to be fully healthy. He's created beautiful songs for us while sick. Can you imagine if he was 100%?

"In God we trust. God tied a noose to his neck walked to the edge and he jumped"...This is him describing an hallucination he experienced during his worst period of sickness and when he was unable to leave his bed. He talks about it in interviews and during one of his twitch streams.

I always interpret the 'On God we trust. God tied a noose to his neck walked to the edge and he jumped' line as him putting his faith in God, praying for his pain to go away but there being no let up. He saw it as God turning his back on him, not just him but all of humanity. He'd had enough of what we had become.

This is the last track Ren wrote for Sick Boi and, along with MG3 , was written in 2023 - while he was undergoing treatment in Canada. It’s easy, as you pointed out, to look at what Ren has achieved in the year since Hi Ren was released ( as well as everything before, his time with The Big Push, etc) , seeing him actually living his life and forget that he is still going through it almost daily while still undergoing his treatments. This song begins with his eulogy in Welsh, describes the moment when, after moving back home, he had such severe reactions to the latest course of medicine/s , his mother found him on the kitchen floor and it’s also the moment when he slipped into a state of psychosis. Ren turned 33 last March so you know that this is from that time as well ( “ 33 and hurting, cursing…gears are turning, future stays uncertain “) and he’s STILL going through it “ Slow down, slow down (BUT THE LYRICS HE CHOSE FOR THE VIDEO ARE SO DOWN SO DOWN) Runnin' from the silhouette of self-doubt By now, by now Really should've figured this shit out” - again he’s still having complications and side effects from the latest course of treatment. The lyrics “ Tell me how it feels to be buried while you breathe” calls back to “ body bagging …a living zombie “ Ren has said in interviews that he is agnostic ( but was raised with religion so he knows the allegories of the Bible and uses them frequently). I think he felt abandoned by what he was taught as well as by the medical profession. So, “In God we trust God tied a noose to his neck And he walked to the edge and he jumped Angels wept… Red wings, seraphim, out of God's grace Cried tears from Heaven …” was when he felt abandoned and denounced the gods when his body was missing “ * Red seraphim being the highest order of angels

I always love your Ren reactions! You do love that pain music 😊. This is the last song he wrote from this album. His other tracks were much older. This song has to be listened to multiple times to get some of the references, word play, etc. Also, I hope you figured out the room is in the elephant line from Heretic. I remember that reaction.

as someone that has an auto immunity that causes pain (which thanks to medication is now mostly under control) but this song and "patience" by him i can relate to so much. I was misdiagnosed for 5 years and could barely move, now i work as an electrician. Hope Ren has a happy ending as well

The perfect track to start the Sick Boi album. I love this song; it's like 5 songs in one. It's hard to imagine the frustration and desperation you feel when bed-bound in excruciating pain over extended periods of time. Then, given the wrong medications that can cause hallucinations or vivid dreams. In my mind, I can see Ren laying in bed, depressed, scared and angry - feeling that God has not only turned away from him, but from the world. For me, this song ties into his video "Eden" and the chorus of "Genesis" (Noah was late for the ark). Humans were gifted free will, and yet we choose to be selfish and destroy our world. We forsake our neighbors and corrupt much of what we touch. The whole album has songs about being sick - in the various ways one can be ill - and how that manifests in your head. Very interesting.

My favorite for sure. A powerhouse. Theis ws Ren talking about the day he fell into psychosis at 25, slready 6 years into illness with wrong diagnosis . His body reacted to a new treatment leaving him in agony on the floir. He felt abandoned by God, so Gid killed himself.

Smfh at you and the two drones who who are brainless and lack the ability to think for themselves Bits called foreshadowing. You tried to imply that I watched the video before for if you have watched any of my previous reaction you would see that I am very try good at picking up on what’s happening in the story and lyrics. And yet this wasn’t actually that at all. 33 was showing on the lyric screen when I paused. And his previous lyrics he referenced succumbing to the pain and he also referenced the man in the Sky God/jesus . And if you know the Bible I simply said Jesus died at 33 because he was making a comparison it seemed in the lyrics. I was saying Jesus died at 33 I was not actually predicting the lyrics and No I did not no what truck was coming. However it wasn’t hard to see where he was going with it now that I have said it all out. Succumb means to give to quit to die he is 33 and I said Jesus was 33 when he died also. Nice try tho. Listen to more music and open your mind and you to can understand music as well as I do. I understand flows, rhymes, punchlines and story telling very well

If you didn't pause every half a second you'd pick up the meaning a lot easier. The entire first section was about the pain he suffered and how, though unwanted, it taught him positive things, yet you missed it entirely, not picking up on that thread until two thirds of the way through, with the line, "pain is a gift boi', even though that 'gift' is a VERY sharp, double-edged sword. Pausing so frequently is like trying to read a book 2 words at a time. :)

Our very existence is all about good versus bad, and there's none good but God, as our saviour Jesus Christ taught us, and there's only one who is bad, lucifer the devil who deceived the whole world. We're all spirit beings, and it is appointed once for man to die (this is when we leave our flesh, it's called the first death) then our spirit is off to judgment. It's why we're taught not to fear him that can kill our flesh, but fear him that can kill our flesh and can cast our soul/spirit into hell (which is the second death). If none of us have a say on being given life or the ability to know what good/bad even is, then how can we be good or do good things to be saved, we can't! It's a free gift from God our Father through Jesus Christ if we simply believe and repent from sin. He was put on the cross/shed his blood for our sins! So that we don't die of the second death, which is to be cast in to hell. For all who believe and repent from sin, will i give eternal life. Get to know our Father's word and believe in our saviour Jesus Christ, trust/look to know one but him. We who do, live in the body of Christ. He's the only one who lives and we in him. I hope this makes sense. Much love ❤
