The pain and bed parts are describing the period when he was pretty much bedridden for SEVEN years! He was in constant chronic pain, severely underweight due to a severely restricted and liquidised diet and during which he developed psychosis. Partly induced by being given the wrong medication following a misdiagnosis. He hardly slept due to the intense pain and the psychosis. Ren is still very seriously but thank heavens he's no longer where he was. :) The opening describes an incident, where he hadn't been out of bed for over a year, yet had somehow managed to crawl down to the kitchen. At that point the pain became so intense that he couldn't move . He was literally digging his nails into the laminate flooring, in sheer despair and desperation and in excruciating pain.
Love this song. The perfect choice to start the "Sick Boi" album too, and like you said, it's like 5 songs in one, but it works rather than seem disjointed.

The first track of REN I listened to was ‘Ren’. The first couple of minutes I thought I was going to have to stop and move on. But it got better and I am glad I didn’t quit watching. His music and lyrics grab you and once it catches it doesn’t let go. I absolutely LOVED the ending of REN. Some of his videos I can’t watch through, but a few are very enlightening. I am glad I watched them.
My favorite Ren song! Beat, flow, word-play, rhyme scheme, story telling, depth of meaning in the lines.... Chills! FIRE! I have heard it 60+times and STILL can not stop bobbing and weaving to the beat. 5:48 Here ren is saying God was dead to him... "I watched him tie the knot and jump from my bed I bared witness". Ren then bowed to his new God (his disease) and begged for mercy... INCREDIBLE! "The bones where the devil rests" (Lymes disease attacked his bones)...
I'm not gonna watch the entire video for you again, but for example 9:38 he doesn't even wait for the lobotomy rhyme to actually hit, he randomly starts talking into it because he either knows what's it gonna be or he doesn't even give a fuck. It's annoying. He says "glutony is like when people eat"... I don't know what part makes you think I'm a troll but if anything, you're a moron. The reactor literally either doesn't even listen or care, or he already knows what's in the song.
