Fiction writer Susan Choi discusses the inspiration for each of her four novels: The Foreign Student, American Woman, A Person of Interest, and My Education. Her new novel, Trust Exercise, is forthcoming in 2019. Choi gave a reading at the University of Oregon on May 14, 2018 as a guest of the Clark Honors College and as part of UO's Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.

I would love to see her publishing a historical fiction on her paternal grandfather, Choi Jaeseo-his days at University of London, his works as a scholar of English literature, his collaboration with the Japanese empire, etc. It would be so fascinating.
