This is the first install ever of the UP DOWN AIR system posted on RU-vid.
The video will show you how to install the add-on kit PN#69-0717. This kit is designed for Jeep JK’s already running an ARB twin compressor but this install will be similar with other models and compressors from UP DOWN AIR. Basic hand tools, a drill, and tube cutter are the only tools necessary for this install. A great weekend project that will save you time because once the install is completed you will only need 4 bright green tire whips to air up, air down, air up, and drive safely to your next destination.
· Compatible with Jeep JK & Ford Gen 2 Raptor
· Drilling required to install
· Hook up for quick disconnect lines to air down or air up your tires
· Adjustable dial to fine tune the PSI pressure for all 4 tires
· Systems work with ARB or VIAIR compressors

Thanks for the video. The SEMA video caught my eye, and I thought this would be perfect for my Wrangler. I elected to go with a professional installation as this appeared to be above my skill level. Just got the system installed this week, three days after you published. I was hoping to play with it today but there were just too many errands to run. I can tell you that with coupled with an ARB dual compressor and an sPOD, this air delivery system looks pretty sweet. No more constantly bending over and airing down/up each tire! Hopefully the rain will hold off tomorrow and I can give it a go.

Carol Bethune Glad the video was helpful. Thank you for watching. I used the system today and it worked perfectly on the trail. Once it installed it will be so easy for you to air up and air down.

So glad to hear that you went with the system. I hope you are still enjoying it and yes any time you can keep from having to bend over repeatedly is a good thing.

i didn't see any installation, other than drilling a hole and cutting a piece of tubing. would've been nice to see how you ran the lines, whats all included in the kit, how it hooks up, how long it took to air up. Maybe do a manual air pressure check to show it's accuracy. Thanks for taking the time to make the video, though.

Neat setup but I wonder how hard it would be to modify to control the front and rear tires separately. Probably just need some more valveing on the control platform to split the front and rears. That way you could let air out of the front then the rear at different pressures and when filling up, for pavement driving, just fill all four up to same pressure, then air down the rears to preferred pressure. I suppose you can do the same thing by airing up all four tires to what you'd like in the rear tires and then shut off the system, disconnect the rear connectors, turn on system to add more air to just the front tires.
@JeepsRoc
@JeepsRoc 4 года назад
I am not sure since this system is design to have each tire with the same psi when you have reached your set pressure. You could always set it to an example of 12 all around and then manually remove 2 psi out of the front manually if you had to. Just a suggestion. Thanks for watching

Do you know if this setup with the addition of the ARB compressor Will work with a voswitch already mounted
@JeepsRoc
@JeepsRoc 3 года назад
Not familiar with the Vos Switch mount. We used the MetalCloak Arb mount and combined it with the Up Down Air system. We had to do some slight cutting of the mount but it all worked. Recommend you contact Up Down Air support for a more complete answer.

Hi just wondering after 5 years. if you are still using this set up? And howd it goes? Any issues. Is it worth it? They are still selling this product with gen 2 model. But it seems most vids here in youtube does not recommend it. Just getting sa inputs before commiting on getting its. It seems like a very good idea but i need to know if it really works. Hoping for your reply. Thanks!

Thank you for your question. Yes still using the same system. Main reason is because onboard air is required for the front lockers on the Jeep. Being able to run lockers, up down air and to help others when some extra air is needed works for our setup. This system is slower than other alternatives on the market and ours is a Gen 1 model. Sorry have not installed a Gen 2 so not sure how reliable the new versions are. Hope this answers some of your concerns

You mentioned that the factory bracket didn't work with your MetalCloak ARB compressor mount. What solution did you end up with? I also have the MetalCloak ARB compressor mount and would like to know if Up Down Air has a solution or if you had to come up with your own. Thanks.
@JeepsRoc
@JeepsRoc 4 года назад
I did have to come up with my own mount. I slightly modified MetalCloak bracket by cutting a a small piece off the and then made my own bracket and fit it under/pinched it under the MetalCloak bracket. I can take some photos if you would like. Send me a DM on Instagram if you can @jeepsroc

Just a quick question, how did you modify the up/down control box to fit to the MetalCloak bracket. I am doing the exact same install on my '16 Wrangler.

Did I miss the connections from the ARB to each wheel?? You need to run four lines from engine compartment to each wheel arch? Then connect the whips to these mounts???
@JeepsRoc
@JeepsRoc 5 лет назад
Ton Tonn yes run four lines, then connect updownair regulator to arb or viair system and then when you are ready to use the system you only need to connect 4 small air lines

Hey there, I'll be starting my install this weekend. Did you keep the two Y connectors under the hood or is one positioned on the passenger Side and one on the driver frame area. Thanks!
@JeepsRoc
@JeepsRoc 5 лет назад
Al Stanko Thanks for watching and thanks for the question. The Y connector for our build is passenger inner fender and driver side engine compartment. Focus on trying to place it where no damage or outside elements can affect it if at all possible ours are protected and double tapped with electrical tape as well as air line loom protection from Up Down Air.

Thank you for the video, how do you stop the dust and dirt getting into the open schrader valves under the vehicle? Is there kind of cover like you have for the tire valves? I even would be interested in how do you did the pipe mounting under your JK? and how is the black pipe system connected to the ARB compressor?
@JeepsRoc
@JeepsRoc 6 лет назад
Each of the schrader valves in the kit come with their own caps. Just make sure to re-install them after each use. The cover is the exact ones you would use on tire valves. As to running the pipe mounting it will be different for each Jeep since each of us have one just a little different than the other. I put mine as close to the frame as possible. Keep in mind on the side of the muffler to not get to close. Each of the pipe mountings also have a covering over them as well for protection.The ARB compressor has to valve openings you just connect it into one of those connections, you can use a quick disconnect. Thanks for watching.

@jeepsRoc How's the UpDownAir set working out for you thus far btw? Looks like it's been a year, thoughts? I'm about to make the purchase and chatting with a local shop to get it installed (don't wanna do it myself). Do you still like it? If not then what would those be or if you've found a better alternative to this. Please feel free to lemme know. And thanks for your videos, they are very helpful and detailed as per usual :)

Funny you should ask we used it last week and it is still running just like the day we installed it. The places that we mention in the video on where to install on the frame have worked out perfect. No damage to any of the valves while off-roading and all the lines have held, no leaks. Gauge is still working properly. All good in our book. Thanks for asking.

what do you keep your tires at for normal driving, city and highway ? recommended on door panel is 35 - do you go as low as 30 ?
@JeepsRoc
@JeepsRoc 6 лет назад
I run a Toyo Open Country M/T - If I was to run it at 35 it would be hard as a rock. I run highway at 28 and trails 12.

@@JeepsRoc so running my 31s at 37 psi is a bit much for city hwy driving ?
@JeepsRoc
@JeepsRoc 6 лет назад
If your in the range of 30-40 psi you should be ok. I would stay around 35. If you lower it you might get a more comfortable ride but you will wear out your tires a little sooner. I would just find the comfort level your looking for and go with that. If you upgrade to a larger tire you will most likely go with a lower PSI. Hope this helps.

Very lame video.. let’s mount the air up down fitting right where rocks will rip them off. There a reason the fitting are mounted up and away. Rocks, Mud, sticks branches.. Happy trails Mall Crawler.

Since this video has been made not a single one has been ripped off. They are still rock solid and we feel we made the right decision in placement. A rock is going to hit our rock rail or mounting bolts first.
