I try to do 3-4 updates a year. At least 2 during the spring/summer. They’re usually long but I’m over everything from the greenhouse to the garden. Thanks for watching!
Hi Dave. Do you ever get aphids in plants? Do you put drainage holes in the salad green tubs? Have you made a video on planting density for the various greens in those tubs?
sometimes. I find if I plant lettuce they seem to spontaneously generate. I have not idea where they come from! This year I got rid of lettuce and guess what? no aphids! apparently they don't like brassicas which is mostly what I grow. I haven't done a video on the density but the tub is about 9"x14", I form a small mound in my hand about the size of a Canadian nickel. The density is about .5 inches between seeds i's say. It seems to work well. There are no holes in the containers but I am careful about how much I water. at 5 C, the soil can be relatively dry and the plants are fine.
