She really does not want anyone touching that leg yet, but she tolerates all that you are doing. She knows you are helping her. She stopped eating when the man started to treat the healing wounds on her face, which is only polite, so you know she is trying to cooperate. Beautiful lady, I am so glad you all are helping her!! Gee, that’s almost a compound fracture!. My heart goes out to this dear, gentle creature. She is beautiful. I’m glad she likes to eat and has a comfortable bed. Thank you for your care, kindness and compassion towards this suffering being.
Yes my prayers are for Mai Mai to get better. That Vets can find out what to do the best for her. She is healing quite well so that is a blessing. God bless all those who are caring for Mai Mai. It warms my heart to see Mai Mai doing better than a few weeks ago. I just pray for her to have as little pain as possible. I want her life to good going forward. She deserves a good life now after all the torture she has been through

Her rear leg seems to be very sensitive still so time is still needed. Thank you all for being so attentive and loving ! The sand is easier and softer to sleep on. When it is so cold could you increase a wind break around the full enclosure? Some elephants wear a blanket on their backs from other organizations, would this help?

Just have to say, as rescuers of 16 abused horses and ponies over 30 years, it is also the 'pee and poo', daughter and I check to see digestion and urinary track is functioning healthily, but then, instead of stables, the herd have always roamed the land as they please, with shelter provided by trees. Thank you all for your compassionate care. Will Mae Mai remain at ENP, do hope so, for she should on no account be returned to former human.

Kristie, I read that she was attacked by a bull elephant. She fell & couldn't get up due to a hip injury. Some of her old wounds were from the misuse of a hook.
In recent vidio leki was saying from owner and owner agreed leki could treat her BUT IM SURE SHE SAID SADLY THE OWNER WANTS HER BACK.AS ANOTHER PERSON SAID IF I HAD THE MONEY I WOULD BUY HER OFF THE OWNER

How did she get those wounds....that back right leg is so swollen and she wont put weight on that leg making the other leg stressed bc it is baring all the orher weight
In one video I watched Leo explained they had found out that she had been attacked from behind by a bull! So some of those injuries are from that others are from the hooks the mahouts use on them!!
Hope ENP will plant some portion of park by volunteers with favorite elie grasses, trees, plants and fruits for both human and people (people need to be well treated so they can have the love and strength to take care of elies). Esp in time of hard time people and elie can still have plenty to eat
There was information that she had passed, that she was stung by hornets because she was chained to a tree , her baby got away because she wasn’t chained . I hope this is not true.

Can animals get steroid injections like humans? I know it can cause injury if done improperly but just wondered if her right back leg can have an injection of steroids. They really helped my joints
