His father died and knowing his father the boy would never ever have dared try that nonsense. But the vilage men severely punished him & later ended up in jail. This broke my heart into pieces. The way my grandmothers, especially my paternal side was EVERYTHING to me. I have a soft spot for the elderly. I love them, family or not. 💔💔💔💔

I am thankful that my mom took this case further and made sure that he is apprehend as soon as that painful video reached. I live in the same area as that animal. Apparently he is normally quite and reserved when he is sober. People just don’t parent their kids anymore. How is it that I was born in 2000 and was spanked but my siblings were born later in the 2000 weren’t spanked but know how to behave. I can agree with you that most. problems start from the fact that these kids are being raised by kids. The moms are sharing savanna with their kids and bone they go out bayojola. I really appreciate having a respectful mom that I can be proud of. A mother who is strict, she guides me and protects me from making bad decisions, she teaches me how a young woman should carry herself and respect her own body. Not allow her body to be on special at Usave. I always feel sorry for people who want to post their parents on TikTok for public validation to prove that their parents are "cool". Owamie, I don't think there's a problem with parents that are friends with their kids its just about setting boundaries, when parents become "friends" with their children, they do that hoping to build a transparent relationship with thir child which makes it easy for the child to open up to their mother even about uncomfortable things but at the end of the day there should be boundaries and i think that's what most parents do not do because they are afraid of pushing them away therefore they take in all the disrespect and misbehavior hoping that they will change but in a sense i do get where you coming from because knowing how strict my parents are there are certain things i avoid doing because i know they will be on my neck about it. but they forget that even in normal friendships and / relationships there are boundaries because you know what and what not to do to keep your friend so thats how i am taking everything. Like im 19 and i wish my mom was my bestfriend because right now i can't call my mom and cry about certain things because i dont know how she will take. Also i do think theres a difference between "cool moms" and "parents that are friends with their kids" i wish i could explain but this comment will be too long.

While I understand what you're saying about corporal punishment not being the thing these days, I think this particular case has to do with DV. I think the grandmother experienced it, I think the grandson watched it happen either to her if she raised him or to his mother if she was in the picture. I think he is growing up with a mentality that it's okay to beat her or other women if he doesn't get his way.

This boy broke my heart 💔💔💔 I don't agree that Luvo is an adult he is a child. A 19 years old in SA could be in matric or first year of studies. They are still under the care of a parent or guardian. But what he did is despicable.

While I agree with you overall, you can't knock the rights that children have. Those rights were meant to protect children, let's not pretend that parents/adults are holy and that our traditions are perfect. There's a lot of abuse that took place in our families back in the day but victims wouldn't talk about it because of fear of punishment by a parent (this is unacceptable) and creates a culture of toxicity. Some of our mothers/grandmother's were raped by their own uncles and grew up with bitterness because the culture would protect the adult perpetrators. Bottom line, parents are not angels and can cause their children great psychological harm, that's why the govt created children's rights to help protect the children but I agree that the way some of these rights are administered is a problem, I mean why should police arrest a parent who's shouting at a child who's doing wrong? We need to empower parents too and some of the rights are just downright absurd like the one that says children from the age of 12 don't need consent from their parents to engage sexual prevention programs.
