All in the name of trying to get a good shave. You're correct. If you know how to shave, any product will get the job done. Glad your mom is doing well.

Hi Chris, Im just seeing this now. I’m sorry for commenting late. I’m so happy to hear your mom is doing well. Your objectivity is much needed as you are one of the few who talks from the heart. You are right, when you hit me on the slow shipping it actually helped us to reflect and focus on improving this aspect of our business. Take your time and we’ll all be here waiting for you when you feel the timing is right. I will add one last thing. We indeed introduced a new base and actually lowered our prices to the consumer. I take heat continuously for a lot of the same things, but I have a mantra that I live by, "Be what you are and not what you ain't, 'cause if you ain't what you are, you are what you ain't". Half of the people doing shaves on RU-vid could quit tomorrow and there would still be twice as many as a person could possibly watch. The sky won't fall because you have put on the brakes and it wouldn't fall if I did the same thing. Stop apologizing and carry on.

I never buy artisinal stuff anymore because of exactly your words. Damn shame, since yours is one of the BEST of its kind on RU-vid in every way - production values, transmission of knowledge, ability to communicate, etc. PRICING is such a tricky topic. Tell a consumer of “Edge” gel that you paid $15 for a tub of “Stirling’s,” and they might think you’re CRAZY (despite it being one of the best VALUES in wet shaving!). It can be so subjective, but at times, you can tell a QUALITY product when you use it, whatever the price. I guess it’s up to us individually to decide what that “red line” of pricing is for ourselves. Funny, you actually make an argument for your continuing to make videos by pointing out your objectivity when it comes to reviewing soaps. I’ve seen those videos where you’ve expressed your dislike of a certain product, even if it was “gifted” to you to review. Yep, we definitely need more objective voices like yours on here. Oh well, at least you’ve made a TON of content that fans can always go back and reference whenever they need info on a particular product. It’s worth saying.. imo Why stop “if not enough tell it like it is?” Especially if you view yourself as “one of the few who do”.. seems the better option is to keep chugging along, because it’s necessary. It’s an attitude adjustment. Just take your time, and stay positive.. but don’t allow yourself to become jaded. Refresh, and we will wish you well until you decide to return.. recharged 🙏🏼

I was getting worried not seeing you around Chris, but I'm over the moon to hear your Mother is getting better and has been making big improvements. Fully understand you putting your content on hold, it has first and foremost got to be something you enjoy, and also, for when stuff is going on in your life allows for this. I see this fanboy behaviour throughout the internet, even on tech forums, where people who like Android phones are jumping on people who like Apple products, and I do find it pathetic when it gets to this, so I see where you are coming from with saying about fanboyism. I have returned to making shave videos myself and I have also returned to straight razors. My beard has gotten so tough that I can only get 1 or 2 shaves out of a DE blade.

I enjoyed watching. No apology needed. You do what’s important (prioritize!). It is a hobby, I have “semi” RAD🤣. But for me it’s about educating people who have been caught into the cartridge era of marketing.. for them to understand “buy 1 Safety razor” save on “razor blades” FOR LIFE. It’s that simple.. screw the rest of it! It’s all unnecessary, but can be “fun”. I bought some soaps.. I’m good.. don’t need anymore (until I run out). I have razors (several) I switch up for “fun”. I have different blades I do the same way.. but me an my sons are all in on this type of shaving. They will save thousands over their life time not buying cartridges. That’s good enough for me💪🏼

Nice to see you, Chris and hope all is well! For my use case, if I go to "lesser" soaps over better ones, my face can tell. I get more stinging with alum after the shave, etc. That said, I used Razorock Dead Sea soap recently after always using A&E, B&M, etc. and I did get a very nice shave from it.

Great to see you Chris! So happy your Mother is doing better. Life is about changes and it looks like you are managing well. I agree on how overwhelming this hobby can sometimes be as Ive even slowed down my production. I'm just not going to charge someone over $20 for shave soap or a bottle of aftershave and I guess if that decision pushes me out of the market then so be it. There's also a lot of b.s. artisans put up with across the board behind the scenes that nobody realizes either. You also hit the nail on the head with all the fan boy crap thats out there. I will definitely miss your content!

I really appreciate all the soap reviews that you have done. I assumed that the scent itself determines whether I like the soap or not, but after watching your videos I now understand that the strength itself matters just as much. If the strength is in the middle, it is easier for me to bring out the balance in the soap. Best regards from Norway
