I wonder if that means I can finally update the country on my SE account. When I made it back in Heavensward I was living in UK, I moved couple years later, and the country is the one thing I'm not able to change. Tried contacting the support and all they told me that changing country is impossible. Thanks Square

If they're doing this, at least create a data center for SEA. We do exist

SEPA is the main payment method in Germany. A lot of ppl had no Credit Card some years ago. Don't know how it is today. But it might impact a bunch of German players.

I just use the crysta for my sub, mostly cause for whatever reason my debit card mc despite working for any other purchase, always experiences an error when it comes to my sub, so this honestly effects me even less.

I wish they would fix the confusing purchasing process. I live in Australia, i have to pay my sub in Euros since Australia is considered Europe and other regions. However, my region is Australia and I had to purchase Dawntrail through the Australian Squenix store. I had gotten confused thinking i also had to purchase the game from the EU store. Thankfully it wouldnt let me put in my Australian address for the payment.

Carte Bleue is the historic payment card in France, but most of them nowadays are actually Visa cards too, so no issue there. SEPA is a format of bank transfer in Europe. Often used for monthly payments for example. I actually had no idea you could use it in the Mog Station. JCB is a credit card format from Japan and mainly used in East Asia.

How can they ask people to update their account info when THEIR system does not allow updating a country still? I mean I'm all for updated processes but feels tiny bit unfair to say this might cause you getting locked out when you actually *cannot* change the country info = it is impossible to many players actually update their address proper.

Oh man I hope this wouldn't affect buying subs with crysta casue SEAsians like me have to use a fake US address. Square(and really a lot of JP companies) doesn't seem to think we exist

Genuinely worried, I’m using EU version of the game but I live in South East Asian region (the ps4 disc I bought was for EU, didn’t know abt account system back then). So paying for subs or just expansions is gonna be a concern.

Most SEA players(except singaporeans) had to buy the game from 3rd party and use crysta for transactions... What's scary about this is that we also had to choose a fake country because ours aren't listed. I wonder how this will affect us.

What does this mean SEA players or people who play from unsupported countries? What about debit cards?

Hey Haps, I have an odd question that I'm hoping you or a community member might be able to answer. I have a friend who's been playing for years. She had an issue when setting up her account, and it thinks she lives in the US, when she actually lives in Canada. Is there a way for her to fix that? She's concerned this change might get her locked out of her account or prevent her from being able to pay her sub or getting banned. She mentioned customer service not really being too helpful, but the last time she contacted them was during Shadowbringers. Thanks!

I had payment issue for around 1 and half year and was not able to subscribe due to issue. And from SE I didn't got any proper support at all. In the end I just bought steam version for subscriptions. And if steam payment method stops I can't subscribe at all.

I wish I could change country/region of registration. When I created the account seven years ago, I didn't pay attention to it and I made a mistake that cannot be changed at all

oh boy. I wonder if they updated how the address is registered because I had a big problems years ago with this and spent days talking with customer services to solve it. Luckily the last person I talked to gave me a workaround but I'm sure it is not entirely accurate with my bank's record.

I don't know if I'll have a problem or not. When I was setting up my account I had a problem with the country I was in. Somehow it changed the country to the US and I had to get a US address in order to finish setting up my account. I had contacted customer service and was told tough luck, it must have been something I did and just get a US address. I don't remember what that address was. I hope I'll be able to update my information.... It definitely doesn't match my address for any of my payment methods. So I think I'll be up the creek without a paddle. Oh and the customer service rep told me to just buy the game again and set it up correctly. I learned over that and a few other problems to just not bother when I need customer service.

Well crap. I moved countries, and was unable to update my account address because it's a European account and I'm now in America. I hope they'll let me change countries because otherwise I'm just going to lose everything.

I had a problem a few years ago where I couldnt select Puerto Rico, and was forced to use Florida (as state ) and plus some random Zip code in order to upgrade from trial to full account. On the street adreess tho I put my actual full adress that matches the credit card. Will I have any problems? I went to my account and im still unable to select Puerto Rico even though it is like hawaii, U.S territory.

What happens if my account address and my payment address differ? My account address I had to somewhat fake due to SE account not having Mexico as a country option (I just used my actual address and then added Texas as the state), will I just get locked out of my account now? I tried to contact SE about this before and they told me to make a new account with my right address but the thing is I can't select my real address because Mexico isn't on their region list.

If my card still matches my billing info/address would I need to sign in and make any changes/confirmations still.

I have an NA SE account and am in the EU now. I literally cannot change my address to my local address as you cant change the region of a SE account. With any luck I can still use paypal and buy crysta or apply time cards, because as it stands there is no way my billing information can match my listed address on the SE account. (I currently have it set to a friends address, but Ill be damned if I have a clue what I originally had it listed as. That was 15 years ago!)

Question, since i have not changed my account even i haven't changed my email do i still have to do it or i'm safe since i use Visa for my sub? then i don't need to change only reason i ask is because i know SE is super sensitive when it comes to changing your email... so i don't wanna be locked out my account.

This is probably not for security but for localized costs with the Data Center travel. For example, if they decide to open a server in South America and have lower sub/mog station costs.

When i go to update my account address it asks for my State and an American postal code but I'm from Canada. Anybody know how to change it so that my address is Canadian??

My visa debit card that I've used for years is now saying "card not available" when I try to renew my sub. This is ridiculous and needs to be fixed asap!

SEPA ELV means they can just take the money straight from your bank account. Its very common in Germany :)

It seems they make it harder to play the game or pay for it. Kinda funny. I know a few persons that are probably affected negatively. I hope for the best...

I might also add that if you’re using a VPN the payment may not go through. Every time you try a payment and it fails if VPN is on, you’ll get dinged $1 each time and will be refunded after a few business days.

Hearing many reports of Vida cards no longer working at all, would love for you to make a video or something to get more eyes on this issue because we have no idea if this is intended or a glitch, some of us only got visa cards. Square hasn't put out ant announcements on this issue which is very concerning.

I'm still confused about this - They are validating that your registered address in SE account matches your credit card?? I'm lucky mine does but isn't that the point of shipping/billing address?

They have another new payment plan for ffo XIV. If you have an Xbox and you are playing on the Xbox you are exempt from that payment but have to pay your game pass and use ffo coins for your payment and depending on how long you want to pay for you pay in coins
