Unfortunately, a surge protector won't increase the power capacity of a power outlet. The surge protector is mostly to protect equipment from power surges, thus the name. But it should also act as a secondary safety device to the circuit breaker, in case the device malfunctions or shorts out. The circuit breaker is designed to trip when too much current is being drawn and thus preventing the wires in your home from heating up and catching it on fire. The easy way to deal with this issue is to find another outlet that is on a different circuit and transfer some of the load. It is common in modern homes to have different outlets in the same room on different circuits. Just also be mindful that you might have outlets or wall switches from another room on that same circuit. For example, in the last place I lived, I had to make sure to turn off the small electric space heater in the bedroom before using the microwave in the kitchen.

I have a Replica as well, to me it was the perfect product for photography. I have over 20 surfaces, but I feel set for now. What are your Digiboils sitting on? I know that’s my next expense. I believe you have even more room than I do! I need more shelving, but believe I have an idea to be able to add more shelving! I have a desk in my candle room and my printer is in Hubby’s office, as is a file cabinet. Thank you so very much Mama, for sharing how organized you are. Most outlets in the home are 20 AMPS, so if too many things are on at the same time, it will trip your circuit breaker. I can't run 2 melters at once because most of the outlets in the room are on the same circuit.

Yeah that’s what we experienced :/ we never had an issue when they were all plugged into the same outlet in the living room, but I’m guessing the bedroom is different!

I never empty mine, I just shut them off until the next candle making session and just turn them on and re - melt the wax & add more as needed , I prefer to keep mine pretty full

Just curious, you mentioned test vessels, I am just started making candles as a hobby for family and friends and I have a hard time using my good vessels to test. Would you share what you use for test

If you are just having fun in the beginning and learning the basics of candle making, you can start off with cheaper jars like mason jars or 9 oz straight sided jars. However you always need to test the exact vessel you will be selling/giving as gifts to make sure you have the right wax/wick/FO combo for those specific vessels

If you're in an apartment, did you need to notify property managers you make candles in your place or anything? I'm in the testing stage but unsure if it will be a problem.

check your lease, ours says within that we cant run/ operate a business out of the apartment. and also it has a section that literally states the tenant will not burn candle incense ect. but we are rebels and do it anyways and hide it during maintenance/inspections

Sometimes it does matter. For example, in the city where I live, for a home-based business they limit the amount of space you are legally allowed to dedicate to your business. Here it's max. 25% of the gross area of one floor of the dwelling.
