Notes: I DO NOT PROMOTE CROUCH METHOD. This is a little cheese and very risky to do. You can hit anywhere on Nut, doesn’t have to be the eye but eye must be up. Nuts can see/shoot through doors. I learned you actually can get 0 bullets in the shotgun by killing the nutcracker the just after it shot its second shot (but it’s very hard to get this).
I dont know if it still works but from previous experience crouching behind it will cause it to shoot over you and be unable to kick you. (It also could be you had to be on its side.)
oh i saw this before,and almost PRO lethal company streamer knew this. but.. worst case is when you hitting him with crouch he could be walk towards you and killed you sometimes happen,dont take risk that. i rather using 2 hit and run waiting his reloading.
Not sure if that sound is what it makes when walking around or if it's background music playing, but that military drumroll really adds to the tension and atmosphere of battling this brass dude.
Nutcracker got buffed really hard, the aim walking is very scary when engaging on bad place without enough cover. Making players being forced to kill it faster before it changes the pattern. Anyway, learned on hard way, is still possible to cheese them by crouching+circling them. You can kill it very fast and able to fight them on open space. Only thing to take care is from their frontal kicks, just stay on its side or behind it. Hope its not gets patched.
@@dinoaurus1 shovel and baiting is a lot easier imo and more safe but this method does work. However I will try to include stun grenades in future guides.
other easy strategy is just crouch and come to him as close as you can and just hit with shovel. He can't shoot you like that but you have to hope that he won't just go straight into you and kill you. Also right now there is challenge moon in which if you order shovel and go to main right after that, nutcracker will spawn in main. So that is easy way to train killing him rn
You can avoid being kicked if you just quickly stand up to bait him to shoot a second time. Then you finish him up with 3 hits while he's reloading. Plus you get a fully loaded shotgun every time by doing it like that
Nutcracker stops to shoot once he sees you moving, once it stops it won’t move until it shoots, once it starts moving again it can go into the stop phase to shoot you. It only sees camera movement, crouching, and emoting. It can NOT see WASD movement. Walking around without touching mouse will NOT aggro it, as long as you don’t crouch in its vision. Most likely will be patched out though.
I remberer a funny story that happened to me when facing against the nutcracker so I was just playing around In the mansion map of Lethal but I figured out my E key broke on me mid game which means I couldn’t interact, grab stuff, open doors or even exit the facility Then a nutcracker spawned and I couldn’t do anything when it spotted me I was forced to loop around the purple pillar here 2:15 multiple times to make sure I don’t die it didn’t really work and I died but it was still a funny story.
Hey quick question, what mods do you use to make these videos? I want to set up a single player game to practice fighting the nutcrackers by myself without any risk
They seem to zoom a bit when pausing to reload now which appears to make them clip through objects sometimes. For example, I’ve had one appear behind me trying to loop around L-shaped bookshelves and one zoomed on top of me and insta-kick when looping around one of the main entrance pillars on Mansion layout. I’m not sure if this is intended behaviour but it feels very janky and it’s pretty frustrating to get killed by jank.
Hey bread, do you use any mods for spawning enemies for demo/practice? I would love to practice killing nutcrackers and stuff but its so annoying solo with bad spawns. I'd just want to go to rend, grab a shovel and spawn a nutcracker
He mentioned GameMaster somewhere else but when I tried it very recently it was broken and the features didn't seem to work right. It might still be partially functional. Currently I've been testing the ChatCommands mod out, it's pretty promising for testing purposes though there are things it can't do (I haven't found a mod that lets you manipulate what time it is for example)
I recommend the pest control mod, u can control mob spawns I had been doing nutcracker killing practice runs with only nutcrackers spawning, paired with more starting credit mod for some credits to get to rend early and get a few shovels
By "it can only see movement" do you mean that if you hide behind a wall then stop moving it won't shoot you? If not, dyk how long it takes to de-aggro or do you just have to leave at that point?
0:16 you can see the timing very clearly. The second I move my mouse when it is looking at me it gets angry. Once it is angry it will know you’re there even if you’re not moving.
@@redsquirrel9961 yes after it aggros even if you hide and stand still if it finds you it will shoot. Unless it goes back into patrol mode where it’s just standing still looking around
Not sure how long exactly but going by the video you have to stay completely out of line of sight for about 8 or 9 seconds. I believe 8 seconds is the timer used for several other creatures so it's likely the same. Once it has spotted you and become aggressive, the only thing you can do is run and stay out of sight for long enough, staying still will just make it easier for it to catch you.
pro tip: kill the nutcracker right after reloading, then you'll get a fully loaded shotgun and 2 additional bullets! 2nd pro tip: dont use the shotgun for everything, its meant for hard to deal enemies like Bracken, Thumper or another Nutcracker Jester has a very big invisible box around it that deletes bullets, so it can screw some shots
After about 8 or so seconds out of its sight it loses track of you and goes back to its previous behavior. At this point it won't have any memory of you and you can go back to treating it how you normally would.
He continues attacking you unless you stay out of sight for what appears to be about 8 seconds. Once you're spotted all you can do is get behind something.
If you are scared to do this cheese method you can also just use stun grenade and quickly hit the nutcracker 5times with shovel or sign. The nut cracker will get stunned
this is more of a fight than a cheese, sorry for being pedantic but cheesing implies completely abusing one of it's mechanics while requiring less skill/time to kill than normal, and this is very much a test of your skill with spacing and timing, the crouch method however, i'd say falls under the "cheese" umbrella now nerd react me.
@@Est.-. If a guy is trying to shoot me, and I duck under his shot I fail to see how that is cheesing. At that point might as well say hiding behind cover is cheesing, the guy is trying to shoot me, I am abusing the fact his bullets can't go through solid objects in order to survive.
Don’t they still come after you even if you hide because they’ll remember you so if they see you despite the fact you’re not moving they will come get you or at least try to
zeekers put out 2 hotfixes, v48/v49 but didn't announce them on steam V48 changed fall damage slightly V49 fixed up the masked, incorrect scrap amounts, and the inverse teleporter If you open the game it says V49 in the bottom left
Bro i was running from a nutcracker and i left the room it was in and crouched down in a corner. It entered the doorway, slowly spun around, and then executed me. I didn't move an inch.
You could never do this. Once it spots you even if you don’t move if it roams when angry and finds you it will shoot. You need to hide until he goes back to scanning state.
It still works, it's just harder since the positioning isn't the same anymore. It is riskier than it used to be, definitely, much easier to mess up by being too close.
you can just go up to it and crouch and hit it 5 times before it even reload, and it does then drop with 0 shots. It can't shoot you if youre close and crouched, you just have to back up to avoid the initial random step. This is by far the easiest and least stressful method

The nutcracker only cares about movement. But even touching your mouse (moving the camera) counts, using emotes counts. Not certain about whether being pushed by someone else counts.
It's v49 48 and 49 are not large updates and I have not found patch notes about them...I assume they are only minor bugfixes or other things like that. Go make sure your game is updated, it'll say v49 in the bottom-left corner on the main menu.
in the previous vid you hit the nutcracker while crouched and at point blank range of its legs; the shots missed you and you could still do damage. is that stilla viable strategy or nah?
