Just started playing Jormungandr. Most hive fleets want to be hybrid or melee focused, Jormugandr wants to be two armies. Splitting your list between a dedicated shooting line and a hardcore melee force, often with deep or alpha strike focus. Tyranannocyte + Buried in Wait can drop some nasty monsters on the enemy (Id like to try a Toxicrene plus Screamer Killer unit combo sometime) . On top of Mawloc and Ravener Death from below.
I'm still using leviathan....that psychic power just so good. I still wish that power was a general one would make the hive fleet choice more interesting. Levi psychic power just adds so much versatility
@@ZERO_Zero0 you mean the psychic power? It depends thats the beauty of it... 80% of the time its to give a unit an invuln. But the other times its important things such as fall back and charge say exploding 6 in melee. The fact the channel didn't mention THE best thing about leviathan makes me hesitant to take him serious
New to 40K and found your channel over the last 2 days been binging it lol definitely making a Tyranid army starting this weekend! Not sure weather I want to go Jormungandr for my love of the lore and style. Or go Leviathan/Behemoth based of optimizing how I think I’ll play
Ive had success with Hydra with larger blocks of warriors and raveners. The extra move is better than +1 charge right? Warriors/Ravs hitting on 2s is brutal. Fexes hitting single/small units on 2s is brutal too!
I love Jormungandr in friendly 4-fun games. Using the buried in wait stratagem on Old One Eye or a brood of screamer killers and watching your opponent sweat is a lot of fun (but highly situational and risky if you miss that initial 9" charge) :)
Played this today against Voltain, gave SC synapse, 1cp for shard lure - 3d6 on charge discard one - with native +1 to charge secondary perk from Lurk/Feed - was really good
I just recently created a kraken tervigon list before even watching this and on average I scored 75-80 points fairly easily. Banners and engage has been my highest scoring secondary for like 5 games. All semi-competitive though.
Honestly I wouldn't take this channel as serious advice...the dude didn't mention the single best thing about leviathan in the psychic power. And well I don't see them winning any tournaments. The bat reps fun and I enjoy them but please don't take these rankings serious. Yes kraken and levi top buts its really close
I based my colors off kronos but went with orange instead of red. But I've been running them as a different hive fleet all the time to test them all out.
Ok. Finaly I completely don't understand you. Difference in power between fleets in range of 1-2% according to you playstile. Levi is not Black Legion wich has Abbadone and others are not. All good relics and traits are general. - Durability. Jormungandr #3 / Liviathan #2 Warriors in Jorm +2SV +Dence Cover MAYBE -3 rend on swords < Levi - 3trans and MAYBE 5++ from cast -1 to hit on monsters instead -1 to wound, but in case of Jorm you can use transhum and Levi need alive venomtrops in roster to -1 to hit - Speed, Letal mele, Psychick Hydra #4 / Kraken #1. I understand - you in love with Kraken, but I with Hydra, so: Warriors in Hydra 9th - 8"M +2WS Full rerolls to wound < Kraken 7"M 3WS -3 rend on charge? Ok, 8" advance... it is like +1-3", I cach you up on 6" consolidation. Raveners 45A and you can use rerolls ones on both Kraken/Hydra but in 9th Hydra 90% of time +2WS/Full rerolls to wound < Kraken +3WS/-5 on charge? I realy dont understand you'r logik. In transhum terminators Kraken bring 19 saves average in 6+ when Hydra 35 in 5+ 5/9 killed terms. Yes, it cost CP, but Kraken don't have iven option. Spell. Hydra can drop 3 spells in frontline screen unit and just blow up 14 models from 20th (parasite+screem+smite) in average iven without zoatropes. It's will be end for Sisters/Mechs - Lurk adaptation at all: Gorgo #4 / Behemoth #2 - yes. Behemoth can play big monsters with territorial instincts, but Gorgo can play hords with exoskeletal reinforce or naturalised camo. Because of strats Gorgo hoards can be realy cheap - they no need in AG, just toxin sacs. I don't know what be better 30 hourmas AG/spell in Behemoth or 30 hourmas sacs/spell in Gorgo. Because Behemoth deal 27w in 4T +3SV with strat for additional atack, but Gorgo deals 11W+6MW in ANY non vehicle toughnes +3SV with strat for 5+ autowounds. - Kronos. First, realy scary exocrins and pyrovores; second - he can use Lurk adaptation; third - only an my opinion, best non general relic from all fleets. I don't know which meta in your city but in my we have 80% of Chaos marines/demons/knights on tournaments. From 5 to 7 spells per army in average. And this trash in Sisters/Mechs/Chaos/Tyranids armies when you give all bufs in one big unit. Kronos just say:"You loose from 35% to 75% of your unit power because now you can't reroll anything on it - live with it now". I deal 11MW with my Neurotrop... in oponent pcychick fase - he fale Death Hex on double 4 2d3dmg drop as six and than blow up in deployment near 4 units. It cost 1CP for me and game for him.
I've painted my nids in a sorta inverted Kronos color scheme, but I haven't actually run them as Kronos. I've been really enjoying Behemoth mostly, but Kraken definitely tend to win more often.
Really great video just picked up the codex and couldn’t really place which fleet I wanted to go with. Kraken it is 😂 thank you for outlying exactly why your thoughts are what they are as well. Is there any video you have where you suggest what a good kraken army would essentially look like?
