How tf is he draining Spence when Bud said it was hard for him to make weight and spence bragged about making a weight and spence said the crawford fight was the best he ever felt. Bud is older and he walks around just as heavy as errol. @@rickmoon3663 I sincerely think that Crawford is a bigger star than the belts. Canelo, Crawford, and even Joshua don’t need the belts to make money so at that point it’s just an expense. Three belts results in three separate purse splits where the sanctioning body gets a cut. On the other hand, respect in the game does affect future financial prospects. Draining an opponent down does sully the win - think Ward vs. Dawson or Floyd vs. Canelo. Can it be a dominant win nonetheless? Sure. But boxing fans remember. Fighting a guy by either boiling them down or making them balloon up (thing Danny Garcia) does have a negative impact. So in all, if Bud is willing to fight 21lbs up then it makes sense to stand on business by fighting the best (in theory) Spence 7lbs up.

Even during the time that Errol was collecting belts, he was never ranked higher than Bud, that's why Bud was able to get more than they wanted him to have. Then you try to make a guy who never fought without a guarantee to not take one and give up a 65/35 split to a guy who most people had ranked lower than you when M. Garcia, D Garcia, Porter and Ugas got 50/50 splits on the back end. It's called bullshyt and that's what PBC (with Errol's permission) did to make themselves the A-side even though Errol was never better in the people who count minds.
