Follow me on Instagram @ryowatanabee for more pictures, videos, and updates. Hope you enjoyed this video of me doing some tank maintenance and little diy upgrades to my tanks :) Still can’t get over cool the flip lid is!
That is kinda good DIY flip-lid upgrade but i wonder abt the polarizing effect/construction of the polycarbonate that may affect the intensity of the overhead led lights. Have u taken that into account?
Really nice work on the lids!!! I also use nobs for my lids but the real reason to use a knob over command type hooks is the ease of use. You can grab the knob with two fingers, hook it with a finger in the front, back, and either side. So no matter how you like to open it the process is easy and convenient. Okay, and they look nice! One other comment for the future. For the airlines and wires going into the tank cut a notch in the back of the lid for them. I wouldn't drill holes in the lids because if you ever want to remove the lid for tank maintenance you will have to disconnect everything. Great job, can't wait to see more as you expand!
Thank you Dean, thank you for your advice. I’ve been watching tons of videos about your fish room and I remember you explained the ease of use with the knobs in one of those videos. I still have to think of where I’m going to put up the pvc piping for the air in the future as I don’t really have anywhere to hang it up above 😅
loogiemistress thanks buddy, it was so funny because Ryo doesn’t hav a P.O Box so it was a little hard trying to send them to him without telling him what it was I was sending 🤣 with every video he put up saying he was gonna get the pipes I was like nooooooo!!! they’re on the way dnt buy any 🤣😂🤣
Very nice lily pipes never seen like them before also i really like to see japans nature and its flora and fauna once the corona virus issue is over so that would be really nice if you have some vlogs in the nature there 🥰🥰
Roy keep it up man. Your videos keep getting better and it's obvious to all us viewers that this hobby is your passion. I'm happy to watch the new fish room come together 👍👍
I actually wait every day for your video. Idk it gives me such a positive energy hahah and I feel so relaxed watching the tanks while you talking. For real I want to visit you if I am one day in Japan😂😂❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵
Great job Ryo! I can see your excitement about a job well done. You now know you can do minor construction on your own. Not depending on anyone else to do the work. I felt the same when I changed the piping under my kitchen sink. Funny thing though, I found a joint that got left out...haha. It didn't mess up my construction so I was okay with it. Haha
The black background looks great with the lids, it makes it look like they’re tanks in a store. I think I’ll have to make some lids for my tanks now too!
HI FELLOW JAPANESE YOUR ENGLISH IS SO GOOD YOU MUST HAVE BEEN RAISED OR GREW UP IN AN ENGLISH SPEAKING COUNTRY ALSO HI FROM ALL THE WAY HERE IN CANADA 🐷🇨🇦
You’re very creative, I’m actually a huge fan of making things. Part of the maker community and you should get more into it. Just making anything, and solving problems like you did here. Also I actually need to make a lid for my waterbox cube 10, and this was a great idea.
Hello Ryo! It is great watching your videos. I love your fish tanks in your studio. To take care of algae forming in your fish tanks, I would get bottom dwellers ,otocinclus catfish. They are great in cleaning up the algae. I have three in two of my ten gallon tanks.
Just followed you on IG and liked everything from the month of June, didn’t know you accepted package might send you something soon. Keep up the great work.
Ryo your aquascape looks amazing.. WOW. Really enjoyed another great video from you!! Always thanks for sharing some awesome tips and amazing content👍😍🐟🌿🌱
Yes, I maintain people’s high tech planted aquariums and clean out their glass pipes as a side job. We use ADA superge and the spring pipe cleaner to clean the lily pipes.
That acrylic/poly selection is amazing!! I can't find anywhere near me that has a selection like that. The only home center that even has any only has two thicknesses of poly and it's very very expensive. A piece big enough to make that lid would be at least $40.
$40 for the piece, but break that cost down by the number of things you can make from it. Also, look at the cost of tank lids, a d consider that most lids on th e market are made to open on the long side of the tank, which wouldn't work for this setup. Also, see if your store can order other sizes/thicknesses of the polycarbonate sheets for you.
Excellent video! You keep getting better at it! Question: why would my java moss wont grow? I fertilize micros and macros on the water, the light is good but they won't grow. Any idea?
Man you have no idea how happy I am when you post an other video!! Really really enjoyed the video!! 0s: I am going to buy a group of red tertas( similar like yours but a bit bigger) how many should I get for a tank of 300l?
I have the same "carpet" plants as you. It was sold to me as Monte Carlo however im not too sure as all of the pictures on google show more circular leaves.
Hi Ryo I’m from India can you share details of store or place where I can import quality Asian arowana fish from Singapore to India. Good to see you working so hard and providing quality and informative videos. Also if you can make fresh videos from Singapore stores on arowana and discuss fish
what's the different of light strength with/without lid? could you compare the 2 situations please and take pictures with the same manual settings on the camera and a covered window?
