I'm pretty excited to see what my temp differences are. Soon enough. my build is almost done...again lol. I knew you did most of the work yourself but after seeing those couple Clips you threw in it looks like you did almost all of it. Looks awesome. Much more satisfying when you do the work yourself!! Damn. Had a constent battle with high temps and have done everything to find/fix the issue and this video is the first time ive heard of a swirl pot for coolant and a resolution to the problem. Props to you and thank you.

Congratulations on winning your class a week fest.i sugestation for next mod is doing the coil on plug setup I will really make your engine bay pop,also check out dominant engineering billet valve cover

Thank you! Also, thank you for your suggestion. I will eventually upgrade to coil packs, but I am trying to decide weather to do it with Hondata or to go to AEM. With AEM I can get rid of the entire distributor :) but the AEM ecu is expensive lol.

Little heads up,,,,, before taking things apart save yourself the time and do a hydro-carbon test, its cheap and it will instantly tell you if you if you have exhaust gasses entering the coolant by changing colour of the solution in the tester.

Just watching this video, but are you sure that's a swirl pot and not a filler tank? The swirl pot should be connected to the top radiator and the lower hose as well. A swirl pot is suppose to remove air bubbles from the system. How does it removed air from the system if it's only connected once?

My gsr with a duel core ebay radiator is 205 max on longer drives. I’m going to heat wrap my manifold, downpipe, got hood spacers, and installing a shroud to see if that helps before going tucked with duel fans. I want 187-194 like u got

Do You think that the cooling issue may have been coming from the tuck radiator system, was due to not having an overflow reservoir? Cause the swirl pot system looks like that’s what it’s creating.

I have always had an overflow; before and after installing the tuck radiator.

Awesome vid .. I'm thinking of getting a swirl pot. I run an oil cooler as well for the turbo. I want to do a radiator tuck but was not sure if fitment clear or to close to intercooler. I'm running a half radiator temp are in the 190-200 in summer ,my concern is wide open throttle on the race track.. any other ideas?

My car has a manual rack. If you have power steering and you want to remove it, you'll either want to (1) convert to a manual rack, or (2) loop your power rack with fluid inside. Good luck.

ma.i got a question . would it be worth getting the half size speedfactory radiator? im planning on doing a turbo on a d16z6. im not ready for no show car build like yours. i just want to know what are your thoughts and your opinion.

The half sized SpeedFactory radiator is classed as a "drag" radiator which is designed for drag racing cars. I've never had one, so I can't speak from experience, but they are smaller which means less volume, so I would imagine that it would be less efficient than the fuller sized tuck radiator. For drag racing that would be ok, but I don't know how they would do on longer drives. I'd contact SpeedFactory and ask their opinion on that.
