@@warpony123it’s not bad if you don’t have a long enough screw. I don’t think hers were long enough but it’s a fan, it’s not like it supports any weight or you’ll be pulling on it often
@@crystalcooper5046you’re comparing a home design job to a surgery. The thought process is completely different between those situations. Also, the best way to make sure something gets done in the time YOU would like, is to do it YA self.
If they have good quality tools and they are organized then I believe this job can take 30 minutes or less even if it's done with someone inexperienced.
This is one of those things where you have nothing better to do but to find something to do to make yourself feel useful. But still nice job with the vent cover.
Should have used stainless screws and put caulk on the screws and a bead of caulk around then vent, regular framing and drywall screws will rust and leave stains
Honestly nice, good for her, hope it doesn’t have any kind issues, I definitely don’t see a possibility of something going wrong, I was expecting you to actually change the fan because it requires wiring, the cover does look a lot better, I hope it doesn’t constrict the airflow
In case anyone was wondering, when you are putting in a new fan (in a remodel) and you brother didn’t tell you he turned the power back on, it is rather exiting when you reach up in the box and grab a big handful of wires all apparently on. 😂
@@ShrimpCrackait causes problems with ventilating. Not enough air can get through it therefore making your house not cool/hot enough. I don't recommend changing it.
@@melcoffc1683 it's not a part of the HVAC, and the area of the hole is roughly the same as the smaller original. With an appropriate sized fan I don't see an issue
1 its a vent and mount but that doesn’t matter and nobody cares. The only people who know that have done it before. Two if that took you less than an hour you either did your research or were extremely lucky that the sizing matched with the truss spacing. Three… good job. About half the jobs i do for people I know are fixing things someone decided they could do without a contractor
I call BS on this - there is almost always insulation, and fans are mounted with extension arms, and if done to building code, there would be a vapor jacket on top of the fan. She has created opening for major mold growth and missed the electrical and flex pipe hook up, which must also have a vapor jacket to prevent condensation.
"today I'm going to swap this car's engine" ...proceeds to just replace the stock grill and nothing else. "It only took me half an hour" I'm just teasing. This wasn't a fan swap, but rather a cosmetic upgrade. I will admit it does look nicer.
Only a woman would think a vent replacement is a fan replacement and newsflash the house you’re in is probably no more than three or four years old by the looks of the interior of the vent which is why your husband doesn’t find it necessary to replace shit yet.
Love the new facade. I really love the Hilti. Looks nice, you cut some drywall to fit your new fan cover. How about you put in a REAL fan? That way it can suck out the smell of all the bullshit you're selling.
