I was on the Facebook Phecda Owners group. I've seen another post where a person was having a difficult time updating their firmware. I have been trying to make a video on this laser engraver and have been seeing several people having issues with the firmware. I had just updated my firmware for the first time yesterday. I had a few things that I had to figure out, but was able to get it done. So this is how I updated my firmware on the Egeloo Phecda.

That's fine and all, and thanks for the upload, but... The problem you had with the OS not wanting you to use the MKS software, is the same but worse for Mac OS. There are ways around that problem, that involve entering some 'magic' words into the Mac Terminal. There are also some issues with recognizing ports with the Mac. The extension that comes from Elegoo should NOT be used and causes problems. Once installed there are some magic words to remove that too. The Mac OS has the proper (CH340) software already integrated into it. Sadly, that still eaves a few issues. Some have suggested that you need to push the middle reset button on the display board. You don't . Then there is more item to contend with. The inability to detect the COM (PC) or USB port with the MKS download tool. That is either the board being defective or more likely a bad USB C cable. Apparently some are power only and don't have all their wires. Yes, I know. This is ridiculous, but it is what it is. @ShopRamblings has done a good job of providing a walkthrough of the process. But be warned! This is still shark infested waters! lol. And if you ask me for the magic words, I'll copy paste them here. Otherwise I will assume everyone else had success with this! Now back to modding the Phecda for limit switches..... No idea how any laser comes without this basic and needed feature🤔

Just as a heads-up, if you want to get to the file location, and you're on window 11. 1. Find the desktop icon, right click on it to open drop down menu. 2. Once the tab expands, click at the very bottom to show more options 3. Then, when that tab shows up, the fourth item down should say open file location

Hi, since you are one of the few who makes understandable videos about it, I need your help, I recently purchased the 10w version, I have engraved several things in wood, but as soon as I tried to engrave galvanized steel, the laser it worked for a while, but then the flame stopped coming out, the laser head continued to follow the engraving pattern, but the flame no longer came out, even when changing the engraving surface the flame is non-existent, and it also a red light on, more or less, in the part below the screen, I followed your tutorial step by step, thinking that this was the problem... but nothing, the flame still doesn't come out, and the red light turns on, I don't know if this has ever happened to you, above all I don't know if I've fried the head of the flame or if I have to find a way to deactivate this hypothetical alarm, sorry for the inconvenience, but I can't find anyone who has made a video for this problem, and you tell me You seem like someone who knows what he's saying, thanks in advance.

Can you email me a picture of the red light you are referring to at shopramblings@gmail.com. I have not seen a red light but will try to help figure it out. This is a first-generation machine. They have built something different than everyone else, so there is the potential for it to be better than the rest, but there are some bugs that still need to be worked out.

probably clogged the lens from the galvanizing burning off - did you use air assist?
