Darren, enjoy you videos but you don't need the STK to update the RB25S firmware. I simply copied the latest RB35 firmware from the DrSky site, connected my RB25S to my X20S transmitter via a male to male cable between the transmitter and the Rx1 port of the RB25S, go to the file manager, select the firmware file and click update remote device. This at least works with my X20S with Ethos V1.4.9 installed. Hopefully someone will find this helpful.
Thanks for the info. I was told by FrSKY that the RB35 can’t update without the tool at the moment. But should work from the transmitter in a future version.
Hi thank you for your videos, i have a tx16s running edgetx and i bought the RB-25. Unfortunately, there are no LUA scripts to configure the failsafe values for edgetx 😢. Can you please help me having a way to overcome this? I have a brand new 30cc plane waiting for his maiden due to this lack of configuration. Please help!
The challenge is FrSky designs and develops solutions for FrSky products; just as Futaba does for Futaba or Jeti does Jeti. The TX16s and EdgeTX are not FrSky products. So in essence you’ll need to contact RadioMaster for a solution. Yes, RM does attempt to use FrSky products; but, those are generally products after a licensable period. Best to select a product that offers ongoing manufacturer development support. FrSky, Spektrum, JR/DFA, Futaba, Jeti etc. Unless Radio Master contracts (and pays) with FrSky, FrSky is under no obligation to support the TX16S.
How do you flash the new firmware onto the RB35 via the X20S directly? Used to be a simple process and no need for the STK interface.. or need for a PC..
Ya I feel the rb35s has some glitchy issues for some reason I can only get elevator to work is stab mode. Been through the setup bunch of times. And getting sensor loss off and on I must have 10 hrs working with it...Also issue running 3 TDmx rx seems to drop a rx when I seitch them to Fbus out through smart port pin Its not cool I feel it needs a update Love your videos
Hello Darren, sorry for the off topic, I'm quite confused. I have the taranis X9D Plus edition before 2019, accst, I can not do the bind with the receiver G-RX8, I put the receiver software in the taranis and I can not do the bind o. Do I have to use the xjt external module because of accst v2. I have open Tx 2.3.15. Can you help with your knowledge? Regards Vítor.
It sounds like the transmitter and receiver are using different versions of the firmware. Your transmitter will be using ACCST, same as the G-RX8. But these could still be on ACCST v1 or v2. If you are unsure which version you are using. I’d recommend updating all to the latest ACCST firmware. Unfortunately this will mean updating all of your receivers. But at least then you would know for the future. Plus ACCST v2 does fix some issues. The other option is to update the firmware on the receiver only until it works with your radio. There is only 2 versions. The latest firmware (ACCST v2) and the historic firmware (ACCST v1). You don’t need to worry about the ACCESS firmware, as your radio can’t use it. One of those firmwares should work.
I have the RB35s, did not try in a plane yet, but working on it on the bench we having issues 'Sensor lost' when we go into RB config or RB stab menu, and Stabilization option is grayed out when IMU mode is set to Basic. I hope the firmware update fixes this.
also you mentioned doing a walk through of the RB25 lua configurables ? @mrd Looking at setting failsafe on rb25, I understand that by default it's set to 998uS and should be 1500us or configurable..
I would imagine the scripts will be in the ETHOS 1.5 release. There is a 1.4.11 scheduled. But this looks to be a release firmware for the X20 Pro with some bug fixes. 1.5 has the main focus as far as I'm aware.
