Am I blind or is there actually no way to back up to a LOCAL DRIVE ??? the DELETE option does not work. it refuses to delete itself, its a freeking virus... NO i did not forget to deactivate.

When i try to do a backup and click backup now it says me ''No remote storage locations with valid options found''. Someone to know how to fix this?

hello sir I have problem during backup. I had done same you explain but somehow it(back-up) stop in the middle even I keep my laptop on so long time even not complete I had try many times but every time it stop in the middle. What can I do know?

I use updraft plus to backup my websites to Dropbox. it occurred to me that they are all in one file. if I go to restore a particular website will Updraft know which of the many websites files to use ?

I purchased the" Updraft Plus Premium" plan. However, I have a website that I ONLY want to CLONE on a different Domain... NOT to Migrate. If have completed the backup files and downloaded them from my original Wordpress Website. My question, will this affect the original website? Thanks

Should be just fine - bear in mind if you have any paid premium themes or plugins it may affect the licence if you only have 1 licence, but that's about all I can think of that could cause an issue. You might have to setup any other external services like google captcha, google analytics, Facebook pixel, all that stuff would need to be redone for the new domain too if you use those.

It's weird to see Microsoft listed as being a user of Updraftplus because Microsoft.com is not built with Wordpress.org.

Hi Kerry, try checking news.microsoft.com or blogs.windows.com - im sure there area others too! Even big companies know they can save costs using open source :)

My hosting provider does a daily backup and I always do a manual backup whenever I am going to make a change. But with this software, I can now have it automatically keep a years worth of backups "Just in case", or do additional manual backups whenever I need it. Websites are funny things. Sometimes you will now notice a problem for a few days, or few weeks. Now I have more confidence. Thanks for the quick tutorial. I love RU-vid.

How about restoring 1.6GB database? Is it possible in real world? 7GB files also?

Pretty risky honestly, a lot of web hosting will limit wordpress operations to 15minutes, so it is very likely to time out in that period... better to look at server side options for a backup that large - your hosting provider should be able to advise you on that. Good luck - Alex

So if I accidentally broke the code of my website and I can't access to my dashboard I have to install Wordpress and this plugin again and then restore?

Make sure you have your backup files downloaded or saved remotely first though! But, Before that, try renaming the plugin folder and see if you can get back to the dashboard, and if not, try manually reinsalling wordpress from the file manager (or ftp) like this: wpsites.net/wordpress-tips/how-to-install-wordpress-manually-using-file-manager/ good luck!

Hi, I have used this plugin on many sites, however the retrieval success rate is low, it is better to save a database with all in one migration, add the additional plugin for larger sites. Then you can do a clean install from the offline backup.

True, I definitely think all in one is good for doing full transfers and file backups - but I like updraft for auto saving database backups too with a schedule.

how do I get rid of updraft. I deleted it ,but it's still backing up my blog. It's using too much resources and my blog is timing out.

@@IdeaSpot I have reached out to them 5 times and they are useless. They said if I wiped the settings it should stop backing up my blog. It's still continuing today and they said it''s not their problem. Nice! It's a nightmare to get rid of and it's draining my host resources and filling up my Google Drive.

@@lilacvibes1581 thats a shame, usually wiping the settings should work - maybe just get a dev to fix it for you, shouldn't be too difficult e.g. referral to some fiverr options > ideaspot.com.au/wp-fix

I run the backup to my google drive. Then from google drive I just download to my computer (If I need a local backup). If you are wanting to migrate a website or install it on a local server, there are better choices out there then this product, but they are paid plugins.

updraft vs codeguard whats the difference?

I haven't tried codeguard, but i think it runs on their servers so pontentially could be more reliable than using your own server resources. Could be worth it for a large site.
