I might make a wood base for the batteries with your hold downs connected to that. That post connection shown on the battery is very close to metal. By making a wood base you would have a nonconductive bottom that you can make to center the batteries in the box and even make some side support .

Good afternoon. I was wondering if there’s anyway you could possibly send some pictures from a side profile and up against where the box meets the diamond plate? I attempted to do this exact same modification, and the toolbox ended up, hitting the back of the diamond plate, and would not rest flat on the frame in the rear. Just wondering if your box is a little bit different than the one I have. Purchased the same box from Harbor freight but I’m just wondering if maybe they redesigned it since you purchased it. Love this! Where did you get the wires that connect the two batteries? I need to find some but am unsure of where to look. I read online that it’s critical the wires are able to handle whatever the battery is kicking out otherwise they’ll cause a short.
Scared of shorting out the batteries in a metal box? I want to do the same thing for my 19fbs but instead I am looking for plastic boxes that are the same price as metal.
