I just want to say thanks for this video, I didn't purchase this exact one but they look dead on each other. I could not find much information regarding these types of units for our trucks, so your video came in clutch. I greatly appreciate it.
Hi thank you I bought my truck from my grandpa a 2013 xlt ford f-150 he took real good care of it but got a knew truck i fixed the fuel line but the only thing i really needed to fix is the radio and have been looking for one for a good amount of time now I just wanna say thank you and have a blessed day
Just installed this screen in my 2012 F150 a little over a week ago. So far I love it. Audio quality is much better than factory, the features are endless (although I mostly just use apple carplay), install took no more than 20-30 mins…. Only negative things I could Say about this is the mic quality, Bluetooth connection time (sometimes instant sometimes 25secs), & no volume knob. Other than that this is a huge upgrade to my vehicle for functionality and looks. Can’t beat it with a stick. Only a week in but so far so good.
So helpful, about to buy this same setup for my 2012 F150 XLT - Did you make a video or do you have a product for which back up camera you used? Hoping to buy a backup camera and install it at the same time I buy this screen, thanks!
I'm about to install mine. I see my main negative will be no volume knob. I do have a factory volume buttons on the steering wheel. Will those work? If so, do I have to do anything special to get them to work? Thanks for the videos. Both have been super helpful so far.
My truck didn’t have radio control so I cannot confirm, but it is supposed to because it runs through the canbus which is supposed to maintain those features.
@oldeCarrguy - this was very helpful. I am buying a pick up for my son. I am looking at f150, tacoma, Canyon or Sierra from 2009 -2013. Are there packages that allow me to upgrade dash for carplay and rearview camera
I have an 11 6.2L platinum with a large display, this wont work. I have a cubby where the small display is, I was able to mount just the 9" panel radio with a bracket. Looks very modern like the new trucks.
What do you do with the 4-pin insert which was originally attached to the stock dash kit? It is the one that emerges from behind the right side of the dash.
I installed the Liyidaing 2013-2014 F150 12.1inch stereo & now I have flashing hazard lights that I cannot turn off & I cannot get the screen to power on! Please HELP, thank you!
@OldeCarrGuy the OEM camera comes up, but the camera picture is so blurry I can't use it. I tried to buy a replacement ford logo camera with a HD camera and couldn't get it to work. Thank you.
@@OldeCarrGuyoh okay, and one more thing. For the back up camera there’s the part that plugs to the back of the screen it has 1 yellow video out put and two other wires, what do you do with the those two wires
@@OldeCarrGuy yeah al the connection only plug in into one spot but it keeps burning fuse 29 on the 2012 f150 when I connect the RCA INPUT/OUTPUT HARNESS onto the stereo
@@mondocrvts9712 Then you should check whatever is connected to the other end of the rca harness for a short or bared wires. Also check to see that the pins in the connector aren't bent.
Bought same radio but after installing fuse #29 was blown......replaced fuse again and it's blown again....as soon as I turn power on it blows and it's a 20amp fuse....do I need to go bigger ?
