Thank you. I love the rifle. Other than being a bit on the heavy side, it is awesome and I love the look and feel. The extra weight does reduce some recoil as a bonus, but this is not a back country rifle you want to carry for miles in the forest.

Pretty cool chassis. It just slips right into place. He makes it look so easy. Thank you for showing us your rifle and video. I'm sure he was cursing up a storm and just said he forgot to hit the start button on the video camera lol well I don't blame him one bit. It got me to laugh lol

Thanks for watching and your comments. You nailed it. It was super easy, up until the magazine catch install. I made it way more difficult than It needed to be, mostly due to it being my first time. I was so pissed off and focused, that Yes, I forgot to hit the record button when the pin finally went into place. However, now that I've done it, the pin is actually really easy to install. It was user error. I do love the chassis and it's a huge upgrade for my Ruger American 308.

Cool! I took my old savage and got a bell and Carlson sporter stock with the aluminum bedding block this year. The old stock was already free floated so I didn’t really see any difference in accuracy, but it’s definitely more solid, and weather proof which is what I need in the coast range.

Thanks for watching and your comment. Your setup sounds pretty cool, especially on the weatherproofing! I’m loving my new set up as well.

Rugers aics rifles come with a magazine release tool that holds the release in place, and let you feed the tiny rod through to hold it in place
@DADventurerNW
@DADventurerNW 5 месяцев назад
Thanks for watching and your comment. You are correct. There is a rod that holds everything in place while you push the pin into place. I did use it but it took me a while to figure out how to use it correctly. It was mostly my fault and now it’s a lot easier since I figured it out.

@@palacios2004 No issues with the bolt binding for me. Smooth all the way back and all the way in. Maybe give a call to Trybe Defense and ask them for some help. Their support was awesome.

so i bought this chassis came with the release already attached. i dropped a Howa 1500 in to it and it fits perfect... only problem is i cant find the right magazines .. i keep getting howa 1500 mags but they dont have the lock indent on the back only the front..
@DADventurerNW
@DADventurerNW 7 месяцев назад
I’m glad your chassis came with the magazine catch installed. That’s a big pain. With my Ruger, because of the action screw location, the mag catch had to be done after. I’d call Optics Planet and Trybe Defense for the magazines. Mine takes the standard Magpul ACIS mags. Let me know how you make out with the magazines. I’m sure they exist.

You left out an important step. You have to remove the bolt detent pin and replace it with provided long pin.
@DADventurerNW

Interesting. Did you do this for the Ruger American 308 as well? I don't remember having to do that with my build, but you could be correct.

I like mine except for the rear opening for a sling is too fat for a hk style clip. so the sling is a headache for me.
@DADventurerNW
@DADventurerNW 2 месяца назад
Thanks for your comment. I went with a sling with a loop on one end, made a slip knot through the opening in the buttock, and regular attachment on the front. Worked for me.

I wonder if my Remington .22 bolt action would fit a Rem 700 version? I'd like something a bit less 1930s looking.
@DADventurerNW
@DADventurerNW 4 месяца назад
Good question. This chassis is sold exclusively through Opticsplanet.com. They have great techs on staff that could probably answer the question. If not, they will patch you through to the Trybe Defense people directly.

I have a Remington 700 .223 ADL (blind mag) and I’m looking to get this chassis to use detachable magazines. Would I need to get a mag well to run this chassis?
@DADventurerNW
@DADventurerNW 8 месяцев назад
Good question. My Ruger American was the same way. However, the chassis comes with a built in mag well. I only had to drop in the barrel and action as one piece and the new magazines fit perfect and feed flawlessly, much better than my plastic mag that came with the original set up. I love this chassis system and am looking to donations with it.
@brysoncobb
@brysoncobb 8 месяцев назад
@@DADventurerNW So I actually reached out to Trybe and they replied with this. I think I might just have to try it out! Looking to build a coyote rifle. “You would not need to get a magazine well as the included magazine well will convert a standard Remington 700 short action so that it can use AICS pattern magazines. Please do note that there are not currently a ton of reliable .223 AICS pattern magazines currently available, so you may run into feeding issues if you source magazines from an unreliable manufacturer. We highly recommend using MDT magazines with our chassis and they offer .223 options direct through them as well as through Optics Planet”
@DADventurerNW
@DADventurerNW 8 месяцев назад
@@brysoncobb that’s great information. I had also reached out to both companies and both were extremely helpful. Good luck with your build. It’s very easy to do. The only tricky part for me was the magazine release, but in the end, the problem was me and now I can do it easily.

Is there a way to install a folding stock adapter?
@DADventurerNW
@DADventurerNW 8 месяцев назад
Good question. This stock is one piece.so there’s no way to install a folding stock with this chassis. There are folding stock chassis on the market, but they are more expensive.

Can the buttstock be changed or it’s permanent
@DADventurerNW
@DADventurerNW 5 месяцев назад
On this model, the butt stock is permanent. They do have a length of pull adjustment up to 3/4”. I’ve seen other chassis that have a removable butt stock but they were more expensive.
